Cabúk, Matej ; Tesař, Rostislav (referee) ; Jurová, Marie (advisor)
Launching a new product on the market requires a lot of preparatory work. In international companies, procedures and rules are clearly given. And while theory defines the technical production preparation activities, the actual processes vary from company to company. This diploma thesis focuses on the analysis and optimization of partial tasks, mainly on the design preparation of production. It proposes solutions to improve processes from a designer's point of view. In order to understand the appropriateness of the proposed solutions, it is necessary to know the nature of the analyzed company, which will be briefly presented. The proposals deal with software equipment in the workplace, the potential of which is not fully exploited by the employees. And although good quality software is an important part of the efficient operation of any company, for some activities it is preferable to limit the software used and simplify the processes. The specialists do their job with high quality and in less time. Creating a position of a specialist in photorealistic visualizations gives room to employee to develop in the field. Various factors, such as motivation and work environment, affect the performance of employees. Introducing new benefits, improving transport infrastructure and promoting alternative ways of travelling to work can have a positive impact on employee performance and satisfaction. The final part evaluates the proposals from a technical and economic perspective.

Dudová, Julie ; Zálešák, Jan (referee) ; Kubíková, Zuzana (advisor)
The bachelor thesis focuses on enhancing the perception of food, individual ingredients and time spent eating. Along with this, it addresses the question of how our minds' reactions to tastes, their combinations and the time in which we perceive them change. Through a theoretical reflection on cooking and eating culture, the author explores the factors that can influence attitudes towards cooking and thus enhance its sustainability. The author's ambition is to address the culinary imagination, that is, mastering the art of pairing flavours without the need for recipes. She sees this practice as more sustainable. The author herself has worked as a chef. The bachelor's thesis is therefore also based on practical experience. The topic of cooking and sharing meals is also addressed in the author's studio, which is one of the main motivations for her work on this topic.
Who is a designer
Dohnalová, Kateřina ; Staňková, Hana Grulichová (referee) ; Kubíková, Zuzana (advisor)
To what extent can anyone call themselves a designer? Where is the line that decides why and who is a designer? The aim of this bachelor thesis is to answer these simple questions. The author simultaneously draws from her own long term experience, working as a main bartender in a pub, where she tries to redesign the the core processes of this pub based on her participatory observation. As an employee she has a bigger potential of resolving the existing problems, which she finds absurd while working, or she can suggest their solution in a way that is more sustainable and co-worker friendly, but at the same time takes into account the boss and the community that shapes around the said place. The long term employer or an invited expert (designer) doesn't actually perform the job. Which means that they can't assess the situation and recommend a meaningful solution.
Chanel revolution
Šťovíčková, Zina ; Jančík, Jiří (advisor) ; Machleidtová, Silva (referee)
The subject of the bachelor` s thesis is the French fashion designer and innovator in many specializations and sectors- Gabrielle Chanel. This extraordinary lady was born in a century where women did not have much power and society viewed them as housewives who were should obey their husbands. Nobody assumed that one day they might work. Chanel was a very dynamic and self- sufficient woman who decided to change this prejudice. The chief aim of the work is an effort to clarify what makes her unique and how she influenced culture. She not only changed the world` s fashion but influenced many innovations to the fashion industry. This work is conceived as her biography and tries to capture her most important feats. These feats have permeated into the subconscious of the French nation as well as the whole world. She accomplished this via her originality, determination and independency caused by a sad childhood, lack of men` s love and by the social conditions at that time.
There's black and white, day and night, good and evil, yin and yang. It all just balances itself out.
Ilič, Risto ; Kořínková, Jana (referee) ; Mazanec, Martin (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis "There's Black and White, Day and Night, Good and Evil, Ying and Yang" follows the three-year existence of the collective "Ugly Brno" and its work, which is based on the still current, local phenomenon of redesigning of advertising banners and shields in the context of small businesses located in the Brno city center. Specifically, it focuses on emerging designs combining black and white. The output of this bachelor's thesis is a video – a fictional interview in which Black and White are personified as two confident, eccentric personalities, quasi-experts in today's visual culture and the ultimate guarantors of taste, who conquered the city of Brno with their realizations. The objective of this thesis is to reveal the mythology behind the popularity of black and white combination in the context of visual culture, particularly in graphic design and its connection to the problematics of gentrification and capitalism. Another objective is to use sarcasm and irony to create a reflection of a culture whose values are elitism, workaholism, perfectionism, disregard for alternatives and an emphasis on efficiency. Why is it that in such a culture, black and white has gained more and more popularity than ever before?
Multi-function Cultural Centre "Creative City" in Brno
Sekaninová, Jitka ; Novák,, Petr (referee) ; Vojtová, Lea (advisor)
The thesis is a radical reconstruction and completion of a unique brownfield for cultural purposes, incubator of creativity, business and housing. The building is a former penitentiary near the city center between streets Bratislavská, Soudní and Cejl. It is a historical building which is currently unused. The complex for starting young entrepreneurs in a field of culture is supposed to serve as a center for a general public of art, particularly for the areas of so called industry of creativity such as architects, designers, painters, sculptors and also musicians, designers and developers of computer games. The building is historically valuable, especially due to the original vaults in the old part of the building which remain preserverd as much as possible. Only a part of a west wing has been demolished in order to construct a new expressive form as a shape of crystal which attracts the public from the Cejl street as it could be easily overlooked otherwise. The crystal has become a dominant part of the building and servers as a main entrance. A newer, less valuable part of the complex from the Bratislavská street, has been razed so there could be an underground parking and new extensions built serving the commercial and administrative purposes. The extenstions are the two operationally and structurally separated buildings allowing opening the entire area. A coridor which these two extensions create in between expands in a direction towards the legacy parts of the complex, thus the passers-by from a general public are pulled into the creative center through an attractive front-place. The original layou of each wing is retained what influenced their functional use decently. There are studios and workshops for artists located in the existing two floors along with multi-purpose hall, design market and theater hall with a trial rooms. There are additional studios, school of art with drawing and reading rooms and commercial areas situated in the extended floors.

Studený, Zdeněk ; Španěl, Michal (referee) ; Beran, Vítězslav (advisor)
The thesis describes the design and creation of user interface made for cooperation of the client and the designer. This UI should motivate to keep the cooperation between the two parties continuous. It uses a concept of gamification which motivates the client. Gamification applies game mechanics into productive activities. The interface is realised in the form of web application aiming to create ahabit of using the application on regular basis. Additionally, the application invokes further project development. Usability testing provided data suggesting that the application helps with better understanding of the working process of the project and encourages the client to develop the project further.
