Comparison of the Quality of Barrier-free Environment in Prague and Amsterdam Public Transport for People with Disability

This thesis discusses the state of barrier-free accessibility of public transport in Prague and Amsterdam. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part contains an introduction, description of environmental barriers, barrier-free accessibility and description of the legislation. The practical part provides specific information about the state of public transport in Prague and Amsterdam, as well as results of the checklists, discussion and conclusion. At the end of the thesis is a list of literature and the attachments.
Transport accessability related to second home tourism in peripheral regions

This diploma thesis focuses on accessibility and serviceability second homes in the inner periphery, respectively, in the model region "Hranice krajů-Středozápad" as well as analysis and assessment of the second homes with the possibility of a future transformation to permanent housing. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the characteristics of the second homes, transport accessibility and public transport not only in the Czech Republic. Analyzes commuting to recreation in various fields and further acquainted with the problems of peripheral areas. The empirical part is based on the data obtained from the analysis of public transport, statistical yearbooks and survey, which took place in the model region "Hranice krajů- Středozápad". The area is monitored to determine what kinds of vehicles are used by second homes owners for leisure travel and the transport infrastructure facilities. Also is detecting the demand for public transport and its offer for owners of second homes. Long-distance Public Transportation Planning: the Case Study of Slovakia

ABSRACT The diploma thesis deals with analysis the public transportation planning environment with focus in planning of public transport network service. In the introductory chapter there are shown and described different methods of public transport network planning and analysed influencing factors. Consequently the thesis examines the institutional framework as the principal factor and analyses contemporary Slovak public transportation legislative. Following the analyses are the first results and the suggestions of modifications presented. In the next part authors alternate method of public transport network rationalisation is shown. Despite traditional planning attitudes the thesis integrates into the issue also question of time geography. In the author methodology there are vast qualitative parameters defined. The parameters dealt with the system and also with the number of operated station and tracks. The methodology is consequently presented at the case study of Slovak long-distance public transport service. Changes in transport behavior and modal-choice by students on the route from České Budějovice to Prague

This thesis aims to modal-choice and changes of transport behaviour, especially for students on the route from Praha to České Budějovice. The route is chosen due to expanding of the highway and to newly introduced bus and train services. The category of the students is interesting terms to limited options in the context of finances in relation to employees. The comparison of the preferences of these groups is the goal of the thesis. The goal verification has been completed by quantitative and qualitative research by questionnaire. The questionnaire for employees was created by Public opinion research centre, while the questionnaire for the students was created specifically by the author of the thesis. Contrary to the original assumptions, the thesis found that students prefer travel time ahead of the price and employees prefer flexibility ahead of the travel time. The goal of this thesis is determination of meaning chosen factors in modal-choice and monitoring differences of these factors between employees and students. Further, the thesis evaluate competitiveness each of transport modes on the chosen route. Keywords: modal-choice, transport behaviour, public transport
Models of public transport in the GIS environment

Models of Public Mass Transportation in GIS Environment Abstract The thesis tries to describe and categorize models of public mass transportation. A new model is built upon these models and based on authors' thoughts. This model is constructed to work with headways only instead of timetables. Therefore one cannot precisely estimate the passengers' behaviour. The model works also with street network aside from public transportation lines. An application is built upon these model and allows network editing and processing of shortest-path analysis and accessibility analysis. Technologies used: ExtJS, OpenLayers, CGI, Shapely, STORM, PostgreSQL. This application is then used for building a public transportation network of Prague 6 region and for performing analysis upon this network.

The bachelor thesis deals with marketing communication of the selected company. It involves evaluation of many factors through thorough analysis of the company. They include the companies surrounding, its customers, the current state of marketing communication and the results of the questionnaire survey. In turn, new ideas of using the elements of communication mix are elaborated on. The main part is the design of a new web presentation. The conclusion of the thesis is the calculation of the total costs of implementation of the proposals.
Conceptual design of device for application of anti-icing agents on overhead catenary

This bachelor’s thesis deals with icing of overhead contact lines. Relevant patents and existing commercial systems for applying anti-icing agents are comprehensively described and evaluated in the thesis. Based on that, two new concepts for public transportation are proposed. Compared to the existing systems, these concepts bring improvement in operational parameters and expand the number of products offered at the market. Afterwards, both concepts are critically assessed.
Kroměříž - a town at a new crossroads

This bachelor thesis deals with chosen kinds and states of transport and their relation to people and vice versa. The first part of the thesis is focused on a theory of transportation in cities and their connection with surroundings. The thesis explains basic topic of this problematic and shows relevant legislation and technical norms. The second part is focused on transport in a town of Kroměříž. The work divides the outer and inner transport and divides also transport into static transport and transport in a move. The thesis realized an urbanistic analysis in individual spaces in the town. The thesis evaluates urbanistic-traffic situation based on ascertained information.
Factors affecting travel behavior in the context of FFPT: case study Frýdek-Místek

This diploma thesis studies the issue of travel behaviour in the systems with abolished fares of public transport, so called free fare public transport policy (FFPT), which aredominantly influencing the transport system in favour of one means of transport. The main aim of this paper is to figure out how the concept of FFPT is affecting the choice of means of transport and what is the influence of the FFPT on the dynamic in the given transport system. Besides conceptual framing of main theoretical knowledge regarding the issue of travel behaviour and development of transportation systems, the paper is using analysis of practical implementation of the FFPT concept and also, on the case of Frýdek- Místek, the case study of specifics system with implemented FFPT. The results indicate that introduction of the FFPT is effective way how to influence travel behaviour in the favour of public transport and to change conditions in the given transport system, which is then more variable. It's important to mention, FFPT concept does not represents universal tool how to influence development of transport systems while it is just one measure out of many others.
