Design of communication network in building for residential and commerce utilization

The bachelor's thesis deals with the design of a communication network infrastructure for a multi-storey building that combines residential and commercial use. The design is mainly based on the provided project documentation in the form of drawings and requirements of the investor. The thesis contains a description of the basic issues of networks, but also an analysis of the planned state and a description of the necessary resources for the implementation of the design.

The bachelor thesis "Ethernet for Metallic Cables" deals with the analysis of Ethernet technology, the most used technology for running computer networks. Specifically, it is focused on transmission via metallic line. The aim of this thesis is description of technology, research of the latest Ethernet standards, including the latest categories of metallic lines. Laboratory tasks and its implementation are described below. This thesis also contains a detailed lab instructions and reference values.

The first part of the thesis concerns the introduction of the basic information about computer networks, necessary for the proposal development. The second part analyses the current state in detail, the software and hardware requirements as well as the investor’s claims. The third part of the thesis contains my own proposal, description and implementation costs.

This work is based on analasys which was accomplished from requirements of the investor. This bachelor thesis contains teoretical resources which help better understand the issues of this topic. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to design active and pasive elements of network and economical assesment.

Research into the appropriateness of diverse multimedia cabling applications

The reader can find a summary of metallic structured cabling in this thesis. It means there is described progress of this cabling and the specifications of the cabling systems. There are also described all types of these cables and some of connectors. The types of cable are summed in the table at the end of this part. In another part there are shown some aplications used for structured cabling. In the futher part there are described tests defined in the specifications in more detail. The most importatnt part of this thesis is focused on various tests. Firstly, there were chosen typical representative of the cables. It was: the data cable (Category 6), S/STP and MediaTwist cable. These cables were underwent the standard tests described above and theirs results are appended on the attached CD. In the last part of this thesis there are intrinsic tests of fitness cables to the multimedia signal. Of course, the tests were chosen to measure cable to obtain the most suitable type of cable. However, these tests were not standard measurement. There were simulated occasions from the practise. The goals of this thesis were to achieve the results, to compare them between each other and to make a decision, which cable is the most suitable for the multimedia signal. Definitely, this thesis should be sufficient at least for people who keep track of structured cabling. Eventually, the clear decision was made from these testings. MediaTwist cable is the most suitable type for the multimedia signal, because the signal is being recognized correctly in almost every case even if the long length. Optimization of Company Information Infrastructure.

The thesis discusses the problems of data infrastructure in the company Instalační materiál – Herman s.r.o., which dealing with sale and comlex services in plumbing. The current state of computer networks is generally poor, combines current and older technologies, resulting in problems with the functionality of the sale system. Therefore the company decided to invest in upgrading IT. The goal is to evaluate the current situation and propose a range of optimization to an extent that meets the criteria of the company as a customer
