The main research task was to find out how employees in contact centre perceive the supervision. The methodology used in this research was qualitative research strategy. The method of half-structured interview was used for data-gathering. Informants were chosen by the technique of complete selection from the team working in the Contact Centre in Strakonice which works also in the Contact Centre in Prachatice. The team supervision was put into practice in both Contact Centres in Strakonice as well as in Prachatice. Having good relationships among the members of a team as well as with the leader is necessary for salutary course of supervision. The priority is to be straightforward, communicative and to have mutual confidence. Important factors also include the imbedded conditions of supervision which the supervisees know beforehand, such as the time-frame, the venue of the supervision, or the assignment of one permanent supervisor. For employees, the supervision represents a space for sharing feelings and experience, different perspectives on complex situations. ŠMIDMAJEROVÁ, Edita
This thesis topic is preventing burnout among social workers in Ceske Budejovice. Currently, the burnout syndrome is struck by the large number of field social workers due to demand of social work and solving difficult situations with clients frequently. I have chosen this topic because it is very big problem nowadays. I also wanted to find out whether social field workers from the Czech Budejovice suffer from this phenomenon, and if so, whether they know the prevention. The work consists of practical and theoretical part. The theoretical part involves six main chapters. The first chapter describes the concept of burnout syndrome, which includes acute and chronic syndrome. The second chapter includes symptoms of burnout syndrome, where I describe physical, emotional, mental exhaustion and stress. The third chapter deals with the stages of burnout, which I describe more in detail. The fourth chapter focuses on risk groups of people that are the most often affected by burnout syndrome. In this chapter I characterize the concept of personality and describe the symptoms of burnout within the personality. In the fifth chapter I mention preventing burnout syndrome, furthermore there I describe the basic methods and prevention techniques, which include social networking, preventive measures by the employee as well as by the employer and last but not the least I mention supervision in that chapter. The last, sixth chapter, deals with the field social work in the context of the law on social services, basic principles, methods and procedures of social work are described. I focus on the differences between the field social work and provided social services. In the practical part two goals are set. First one is to determine whether burnout syndrome occurs among field social workers in Ceske Budejovice. The second one is what methods and prevention techniques are used by social workers in Ceske Budejovice in order to prevent burnout syndrome. Based on the objectives set, I chose two research questions. These research questions deal with burnout of social workers in the Ceske Budejovice and furthermore the most common methods and techniques for the prevention of Social Workers in the Czech Budejovice the symptoms of burnout used. In order to realize the practical part I used qualitative research methodology. Data were obtained using a semi-structured interview. The sample consisted of 7 social workers from Ceske Budejovice. I used the technique of purposive sampling research sample. The survey results showed that 4 field workers out of 7 have been experiencing symptoms of burnout syndrome. The most common methods and techniques to prevent burnout of field social workers are devoting their hobbies, social support from family, friends, colleagues, heads of organizations or supervisor. Furthermore, to separate work life from personal life and to set firm boundaries of work, adequate rest and of course supervision. My thesis could be benefit to the general public. Could be beneficial for both social workers, who have been experiencing symptoms of burnout syndrome and want to learn more, as well as for social workers who have met with burnout and want to know the possible methods and techniques in order to prevent burnout syndrome.
Burnout Syndrome of the Czech Republic Labour Office Workers from Noninsurance Social Benefits Department
MARKOVÁ, Marcela
My thesis deals with the topic of burning out of Department of non-insurance social benefits (DNSB) Labor Office workers in the Czech Republic. We can find a lot of definitions of Burn-out Syndrome in the literature. Some of them are focused on the emotional, mental or physical exhaustion, others interpret the syndrome as a process with certain development. Nevertheless, Burn-out Syndrome is a pack of symptoms including lack of zest and energy, life joy and mainly enthusiasm needed for work. There are various functions of the Labor office CZ: to fulfill tasks in the employment area, protection of employees in case of employer´s insolvency and first of all, to administrate, decide and pay non-insurance social benefits. Social workers and referees who work in DNSB are extremely endangered with Burn-out Syndrome because of their specific work. Their job requires daily talks with clients who do not have only one but various problems and who are unable to solve them by themselves. And these clients usually expect more service than the office workers can provide. The aim of my thesis is to describe the Burn-out Syndrome issue and its appearance in the group of the social workers and referees of the DNSB Labor Office CZ. Partial aim of my thesis is to find out if the workers have information how to precede it and to compare the difference between small and big town workers. Other partial aim is to find out if the workers subjectively suffer exhaustion. Three hypotheses were set up. Workers of DNSB in bigger towns feel subjectively more exhausted than those in smaller ones. Social workers have more information how to precede it than referees. Referees feel subjectively more exhausted than social workers. Flowingly there is a survey question: what do the workers in the DNSB Labor Office CZ know about Burn-out Syndrome? A quantity strategy of survey was set up via using questionnaire. There were 148 DNSB workers in the survey sample who filled in completely and correctly the questionnaire. As a complement strategy a quality data survey was used via questioning method, semi-structured interview. 8 workers from total 249 workers were chosen by random choice to be interviewed - this group forms the second survey sample. Results of quantity survey are presented with descriptive statistics using graphs and charts. The set up hypotheses were tested with statistic method of Chi-squared test. The results show that DNSB workers in bigger cities do not feel more exhausted than those in smaller ones. Social workers of DNSB have more information how to precede it than referees. Referees do not feel more exhausted than social workers of DNSB. For analysis of quality survey, a hand written record was chosen. There were identified three clusters: awareness about Burn-out Syndrome, perception of clients and personal feelings. The results of quality part show that DNSB workers have information about the Syndrome, but the information is incomplete - sometimes even confusing in the sense of focusing on the unimportant peculiarities instead of core causes. Regarding individual answers, most of the workers see the clients and work with the clients as something unpleasant, not entertaining. Moreover, we can imply from the survey a necessity of specialized training about Burn-out Syndrome focused on the workers. Practical anticipated benefit of the thesis is providing study materials to the students of the Health and Social Faculty of the Southern Bohemian University in České Budějovice and providing the materials to the Labor Office CZ.

MANDÁTOVÁ, Kateřina
The Bachelor's thesis concentrates on burnout syndrome among counsellors for children and youth. The aim of the thesis was to determine whether counsellors for children and youth feel at risk of burnout, whether they are informed about burnout and how they try to prevent it. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on a brief introduction to counsellors' job and definition of burnout. This part particularly deals with specifics of counsellors' work with at-risk youth and preventing burnout. The research was carried out using a qualitative research strategy which consisted of two methods survey and semi-structured interview. The data were analyzed by a clustering method. The research group consisted of eight counsellors for children and youth selected according to their availability. The following research question was used to map the above-mentioned issue: Are counsellors for children and youth at risk of burnout? The results have shown that the majority of counsellors for children and youth feel at risk of burnout syndrome, particularly because of the stress factors at work. The most common stress factors named by the respondents included excessive amount of administration tasks and documentation, too many clients per one employee, careless attitude of clients or inadequate feeling of recognition and support from superiors as well as colleagues. Supervision can be used at all respondents' workplaces as an effective tool in preventing burnout, but it was often assessed as unsatisfactory. Currently, the burnout syndrome is often discussed especially among the helping professions, which also include counsellors for children and youth. Despite this fact, it is advisable to further explore this issue. To sum up, the thesis describes specific reasons why counsellors for children and youth are at risk of burnout syndrome. Next, it asks whether counsellors take adequate preventative measures against burnout and closely concentrates on supervision in the workplace. The thesis can serve as a basis for further research and the results can be used at the institutions where counsellors for children and youth work.
