Rural family and household
Vacek, Jan ; Majerová, Věra (advisor) ; Petra, Petra (referee)
This diploma thesis analyzes the life of rural families of the village Nehvizdy. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis explains the basic concepts of work, such as family, lifestyle and countryside. The theoretical part is based on the study of available scholarly literature. The main objective of the diploma thesis is to clarify whether and to what extent rural families live a traditional way of life and how this way of life coincides or differs with the new satellite district residents of the investigated village. An empirical probe was used for these purposes. Data collection was conducted by anonymous questionnaires. The results of the survey show that the difference between new and old residents of the village is not very big. The original inhabitants of the village prefer the traditional rural way of life, devote most of the time to the domestic economy and cultivate a field or a large garden only a little more than new satellite district residents. The new immigrant population of satellite district also practice some of these activities. Residents of the satellite also slightly more prefer public life over family life. Overall, residents of the original buildings prefer traditional principles and forms of rural life more than new residents of satellites. A secondary objective was to determine what importance the family value system has in the local population. The results of the survey show that the family is very important for both original and new residents.
Characteristics of the current lifestyles of students of the University of South Bohemia
BAŘINKA, Vlastimil
The master thesis deals with the life style of female students at the University of South Bohemia. Definition of the word "life style" and all its important subparts that it embraces was a theoretical prerequisite for the practical part of the thesis. As the life style is a very broad subject, the theoretical part was focused on the most important parts that define a life style, namely: values of life, dietary regime, leisure time, and factors that negatively impact the life style. The practical part deals with the research itself whereby, using questionaries examinations, resemblances of life styles were observed among female students of the University of South Bohemia. Data were then analyzed and the conclusion of the thesis was made.
Values of live in nursing process
KRISLOVÁ, Anna
This work is aimed at the life priorities of a patient within the context of nursing. The research is focused on the ideas of general nurses of the preferred life priorities of a patient, if there are differences in the ideas of general nurses and the preferred life priorities of a patient, if general nurses take interest in the life priorities of a patient and if they include the work with life priorities within the nursing process. In order to do the research, the method of quantitative collection of data was used, with the aid of the questionnaire technique. Two questionnaires were formed. The first questionnaire, of my own making, for general nurses was distributed among nurses working in hospitals in the area of the city of Plzeň. The other questionnaire, of my own making, for patients was distributed among patients hospitalized or visiting particular departments in hospitals in the area of the city of Plzeň. The research was carried out with the approval of the head nurse. Four aims of this Bachelor's Thesis were stated. The first one aims at assessment of nurses' ideas of the life priorities of a patient and if they consider these an important part of the nursing process. The second aim deals with the question if general nurses are willing to include the work with the patient's life priorities within the nursing process. The third one focuses on the conditions that general nurses have in order to include the life priorities of a patient within the nursing process. The fourth aim deals with the differences between the life priorities preferred by patients and ideas of general nurses of patients' life priorities. General nurses mostly consider life priorities of a patient an important part of the nursing process and most of them are willing to include the work with life priorities of a patient in the nursing process. Patients mostly perceive the care of their life priorities from nurses' side as insufficient. Although illnesses have changed patients' life priorities, some of them could have become unaccomplished, not all general nurses are interested in each patient's life priorities. There have been differences between life priorities preferred by patients and ideas of general nurses of life priorities of patients. The specific theories have been affirmed: T1: General nurses consider working with life priorities of patients as important. T2: General nurses are willing to include the work with life priorities of patients into the nursing process, if certain conditions are granted. T3: Work with patients' life priorities within the nursing process is more frequently influenced by working conditions of general nurses than life priorities preferred by patients. This Bachelor's Thesis may be used when teaching students preparing for the a non-physician medical profession. It may be recommended to general nurses as well as management workers as a tool of increasing the quality of nursing care within psychosocial care.

The comparison of quality seniors´ life in the institutional establishment in the period of time for two years
KORTUSOVÁ, Jana
The topic of old age and ageing is wide-ranging. The position of senior citizens within a society and the solution of the questions connected with the consequences of their growing age represents an integral part of the natural life cycle. Apart from their material security the quality range of senior citizens{\crq} life is made up of their state of health, accessibility of both public and private health, social and other services, marital status, the quality of housing, the chance of further education and developing social contacts. The quality of life is a very subjective and individual phenomenon. It involves different impulses for various people in different periods. There is a general tendency towards rising demands on the quality of life within the population and it the same with the oncoming generation of senior citizens. It is always necessary to ask oneself a question whether the quality of senior citizens{\crq} lives in institutional facilities is on an appropriate level and which are the factors influencing the quality of their lives. Evaluating the quality of life can be also looked upon as a subjective individual{\crq}s view of the individual aspects of his life. However, it is highly important that the living environment meets and satisfies the senior citizens{\crq} corporal, psychic, social and spiritual needs. This diploma thesis represents a continuation of the bachelor{\crq}s thesis: The quality of senior citizens{\crq} life in institutional facilities. The basic aim is to compare the quality of senior citizens{\crq} life in the institutional facility {--} the Old People{\crq}s Home of Kůsov within a period of two years. I have chosen the topic of the thesis because I have been working in an institutional facility for more than 21 years, and the quality of senior citizens{\crq} life has made me think about this problem more thoroughly. The diploma thesis includes the present state of affairs of the problems in question, the specification of hypotheses, methodology, the results of the research, discussion, conclusion, the list of the sources, key words and supplements. The description of the present state of affairs comprises the characteristic features of the senior citizens{\crq} population, senior citizens{\crq} state of health, their self-sufficiency and activities. Another concept is the quality of life. Provided that we combine the word quality with that of life, we will face the fact that various people can have and usually do have different ideas about what in fact comprises the meaning of their life, what makes their life of high quality. The quality of life is looked upon as a multi-dimensional quantity and is usually defined as a ``subjective appraisal of one{\crq}s own conditions of life{\crqq}. Further on there are institutional facilities and the new Social Care Act No. 108/2006 digest mentioned in this part. There have two hypotheses been specified in this thesis, which have been confirmed by the research. The original research sample of the year 2004 included 100 respondents: 40 men and 60 women. Within the period of two years 22 respondents died, 8 men and 14 women. These respondents were taken away from the total sample and, as a result, a new representative sample has come into being comprising 78 respondents, 32 men ans 46 women. The research was carried out by means of the method of a controlled dialogue, using a questionnaire for the users of the old people{\crq}s home, the standardized SEIQoL questionnaire and an ADL test. The results were compiled in tabular and chart form, and subsequently processed by means of the STATISTICA statistical programme. The discussion includes a summary of the research knowledge in comparison with the sources used. The conclusion comprises a summary of the complete research part. We can conclude that nowadays the quality of life in an institutional facility can reach a high level.
