Bejšáková, Sandra ; Kraus, Jiří (advisor) ; Klabíková Rábová, Tereza (referee)
Diploma thesis, Analysis of publicistic columns specifically focused on politically aimed commentary, treats of attitude of authors of publicistic columns about political parties or eventually to politicians. The aim of this work is to describe the ways and means of expressing authors use to formulate their position, focusing on these within Pravo's and Mladá fronta DNES's print-outs from January 2010 to June 2010 so mainly in months before the elections. The first part presents modern development of approach to language and text. That should elucidate how the pragmatic way of language examination has begun. In the practical part I applied the approach to language and text, as listed above, and I applied the pragmatic analysis. Qualitative analysis of publicistic columns examines inclination of authors to left-wing or right-wing parties, mostly to ODS or ČSSD. It is possible to deduce what authors criticize within the frame of the whole political situation. This work also examines, what means authors of publicistic articles use to profess affection or aversion to particular politician or political party. This diploma thesis forms compendium of publicistic texts in chosen journals and characterizes the conception which reflects their relation to politics.
Social demokratic publicists in the post-February exile (1948-1953)
Horák, Pavel ; Čechurová, Jana (advisor) ; Sekera, Martin (referee)
This diploma thesis (Journalism of Social Democratic Exile after February 1948 /1948- 1953/) studies the history of social democratic party in exile between the years 1948 and 1953 with special focus on journalism, news service and propaganda. The thesis describes formation of party fractions and deals with how they defined themselves, communicated and presented themselves in the media. The thesis then goes on to analyse the newspaper format, production and financing thereof as well as the number of copies. It looks into broadcasting activities of social democrats and their plans related to the setup of illegal radio. Based on the cases of party secretary Vilím Blažej and Bohumil Laušman, the last party chairman prior to February 1948, the thesis analyses the question whether single groups within the party in the given time period tried by its journalistic activities to primarily influence events in Czechoslovakia or whether these efforts slowly faded due to rivalry between fractions and frustration over hopeless political situation and lack of audience in such an extent that media outputs were later on confined only to discussions within the party and to barely expressing political views.

Mencl, Michal ; Císař, Ondřej (advisor) ; Hanzal, Petr (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze the territorial differentiation of ČSSD election support in elections to the Chamber of Deputies in 2013-2017. The analysis of parliamentary elections in these years has so far been the subject of very few studies. First of all, on the basis of electoral geography methods the territory where the Social Democrats gained the most support is defined. Then, using the statistical methods (linear regression), the characteristics of such a territory are determined. This will also define the independent variables that determine the ČSSD election support the most. The unit of the analyzed area are districts of the Czech Republic. The bachelor thesis concludes that the ČSSD electoral base did not change much in this period. The In addition, ČSSD gained the most support in 2013-2017 in the same districts of the Czech Republic. The ČSSD received more support in districts with higher unemployment, a lower proportion of university graduates, a lower proportion of people in execution and a higher proportion of older people.

Euroskepticismus v České republice
Gřešák, Dominik
Eurosceptic ideas in the Czech Republic (hereinafter the “ČR”) began to spread more especially since the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty and they strengthened with increasing global problems, which did not help this sentiment in any way. Negative politicians' opinions regarding the EU may eventually undermine the confidence of Czech citizens in the EU and therefore have an impact on the overall relationship of the ČR with this European political-economic union. The thesis will offer a list and analysis of specific Eurosceptic topics in the ČR. The research will examine the current political situation in the ČR in relation to Euroscepticism, and its results will reflect on how Euroscepticism is manifested in the political discourse of the Czech political parties that were, in the 2017 parliamentary elections, elected into the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament. The thesis will analyze the Eurosceptic situation in the ČR at the political level in 2018 and will focus on the negative references regarding the EU, which were mentioned by the above Czech political parties.
