Applied theory of inclusive education in primary schools with focus on students with specific learning disabilities

The aim of my thesis is to analyze various aspects of the inclusive teaching concept within the first stages of elementary education and how such aspects may be applied. The work is divided into two main parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is further divided into five main chapters. The first chapter covers the topic of how all students can be included in the elementary education system. The second chapter discusses the key components of how the theory can be implemented and successfully applied to individuals in order to help students achieve their educational goals. The third chapter focuses on topics of special needs education, learning and behavioral disorders. The fourth chapter discusses the necessary role parents and guardians should take in this process. A summary of theoretical part is provided in the fifth chapter. The practical part of the thesis is also divided into four chapters, each of which is numbered and connected to the theoretical part. The sixth chapter defines the objectives of the practical part of my thesis, which are based on various research methods including interviews, surveys and questionnaires. Posibilities of Support for Teaching a Foreign Language to Pupils with Special Educational Needs at Younger School Age

Doctoral thesis titled Posibilities of support for teaching a foreign language to pupils with special educational needs at younger school age responds to the need to change the traditional approach in teaching a foreign language to pupils with specific difficulties. The aim is to create and map out the possibility of the use of the material-support file didactic aids, created to support the adoption of the selected curriculum in the English language for pupils with specific difficulties and verify his contribution in the field of the achieved knowledge, motivation and their active involvement in education. Partial goal is evaluation of the individual tools, which are processed using the multisenzorial approach and are designed to support the adoption of selected grammatical structures of foreign language (English). Theoretical bases of the current knowledge about specific learning difficulties young learners. Life style characteristic of vocational school students (students with special educational needs)

The thesis presents the results of theoretical and empirical study. The thesis deals with primary monitoring of lifestyle of students with special educational needs, the creation of an educational program designed for dormitory of secondary vocational school and the program's impact on quality of life. The work consists of several parts. The theoretical part describes the principles of a healthy lifestyle (healthy eating, physical activity, mental activity), special educational needs, the age period of 15-18 years, secondary vocational school and quality of life. The practical part analyzes the lifestyle of students at secondary vocational school in Soběslav. This part highlights the different attitudes of commuter students and students living in dormitories. The analysis is based on questionnaire my own creation. The results are shown in the graphs. For dormitory of secondary vocational school an educational program "A year in a dorm" was created. The program is aimed at a comprehensive understanding of health and healthy lifestyle. The influence of the educational process on the quality of life we investigated using a standardized questionnaire PedsQl. Data are evaluated by ANOVA and Tukey statistical method. In conclusion we disprove the hypothesis that commuter students have a healthier lifestyle than students staying at the dorms. We confirm the positive effect of educational program on quality of life for boarding students statistically significant in the group of girls. Development of i-CT Framework and Application for Communication of YES/NO Type

This master thesis deals with issues of development of applications for augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) in environment of special education for mentally challenged pupils with communication disorders. Thesis presents issues of development contemporary applications and follows on design principles of Computer therapy project, which compliance during the design and implementation should prevent the current issues. The aim of the thesis is creation of application for AAC of YES/NO type and i-CT framework - framework simplifying creation of similar apps for described environment. Both apps works on iOS and Android systems and were tested in an environment of people with mental disabilities.

Art therapy as a supportive method of integrated pupils

This bachelor thesis deals with the use of art therapy as a supporting method for the integration of pupils with learning disabilities at elementary schools. The thesis answers the question of how to effectively incorporate art therapy in the integration of disadvantaged pupils, specifically in the system of the individual care and in reeducation. It assesses the suitability of various methods and forms of work with this target group. To the elementary school teachers, the thesis shows concrete examples of the use of art therapy as a measure of support for children with special educational needs. The efficiency of art therapy is validated by the observation of artistic progress of a sample group of children. The author concludes that art therapy can be incorporated among supportive methods for children with special educational needs. Along with reeducation of learning disabilities, elementary schools should make use of art therapy.

The Integration of Students with Disabilities in the Perspective of Teachers of Basic Schools´ First Level

This thesis deals with the integration of disabled pupils to 1 Primary schools in the region of South Bohemia, from the perspective of teachers who work with these students in regular class work. The work deals with the specific characteristics of each type of health handicaps and their manifestations in the integration process. The aim is to find out how the teachers on the integration process, which are the direct participants, look, what problems they face what they see pros and cons of this process, and attempts to propose steps that teachers at the 1st primary schools in the process helped. The sample consists of teachers first primary schools who currently have specific experience with the integration of disabled pupils in mainstream classes, teachers who have had this experience in the past and have some of the overhead view, and teachers who have integrated with the student in his practice has never met.

Optimization of social services for children with special educational needs in the Microregion of Bystřicko

Thesis deals with location, diversity and capacity of social services for children with special educational needs in the Microregion of Bystřicko. It characterizes the current situation of target group and number of children with special educational needs in the microregion. It also surveys the current state of providers and services offered to the target group. It responds to data collected from interviews with chiefs of institutions and head of section of social affairs and health. The proposal represents solutions to community social services plan for the city of Bystřice nad Pernštejnem during the years from 2008 to 2016 and it reacts by optimizing of social services with its own draft resolution, which takes into account the number of children with special educational needs and priorities in providing comprehensive care for the target group.

It defines special educational needs of these pupils (syndrome ADHD/ADD, specific learning disabilities, cerebral palsy, autism, epilepsy, mental retardation, hearing impairment, combined disorders) and searches attitudes of parents and teachers to inclusion of pupils with special educational needs in common elementary schools as well as in special elementary schools.

Comprehensive rehabilitation of children attending primary school and kindergarten in Motýlek Koprivnice, p.o.

The aim of the theoretical part of this thesis is to describe the comprehensive system of rehabilitation for persons with disabilities. Individual sections are devoted to medical, educational, social and professional means of a comprehensive rehabilitation with regard to the importance of their interconnections. I also focus on the issue of families with disabled children and their needs at different life stages. In this context, I give an account of possibilities of the educational process for children with disabilities from early childhood until adulthood. In our region ? in Kopřivnice and surroundings, there is currently no facility providing complex care to children with disabilities in terms of comprehensive rehabilitation. Individual components of a comprehensive rehabilitation system are provided by various subjects - medical facilities, schools and school counseling facilities, social service providers. The aim of my research thesis was to survey the offer of facilities for children with disabilities and their families and to determine whether the offer meets the needs of parents of children with disabilities who attend the primary school or kindergarten Motýlek Kopřivnice, p.o. To meet the goals I chose a qualitative research methodology, using the secondary data analysis technique, and an interview method, when the technique used was a semi-structured interview. The interview was conducted with 8 respondents - parents of children with disabilities who attend the primary school and kindergarten Motýlek Kopřivnice, p.o. The results of the research show that in and around Kopřivnice parents of these children have the possibility to make use of existing facilities for the comprehensive rehabilitation. At present, however, there is a lack of medical rehabilitation, which used to be provided to children directly at school, as well as the possibility of extra-curricular activities for children and personal assistance services. This bachelor thesis may be used in practice as a background material for planning the comprehensive service development for children and adults with disabilities in and around Kopřivnice.
