Streaming services (SVOD) from the perspective of their users: Qualitative analysis of Generation Z's user behaviour and practices

This thesis examines the role of streaming platforms, specifically SVOD (Subscription Video on Demand), in the lives of selected members of Generation Z. Its aim is to conduct a qualitative analysis of user behaviour and, by using uses and gratification theory, to identify the factors influencing the choice and usage of these platforms. Besides the motivation, the informants' content selection patterns are analysed. Within the theoretical part, the thesis discusses convergence, convergent and algorithmic culture, the changes of audiences after the rise of digital media, the categorization of VOD services and brief characteristics of selected services. The theoretical framework uses and gratification theory and Generation Z media behaviour are also presented in the thesis. The empirical part of the thesis analyses and interprets the material gathered through 16 semi-structured interviews and diary entries. The research reveals that streaming platforms have a key role for Generation Z. Flexibility, content availability and social aspect are the main factors influencing their viewing habits. Informants exhibit diverse motivations for using these platforms, including seeking entertainment, relaxation, education, social connection and inspiration. Markedness in the language of Czech political podcasts

The master's thesis focuses on the markedness in the language of Czech political podcasts. The aim is to find out how contemporary political journalists enrich their vocabulary and how they utilize creativity, humor, irony, and updating expressions in their speeches. The theoretical part defines the functional journalistic style and its historical development, as well as the concept of stylistic markedness and the principles of identifying marked linguistic means. The work also examines the role of podcasting as an important media phenomenon of the 21st century and its relationship to the traditional audio medium - radio. The analytical part applies these findings within the framework of a qualitative analysis of the language of speakers in selected political podcasts. It focuses on their inventiveness in using linguistic means and reflects the current language situation and trends in enriching vocabulary in the public space. The results show how speakers use updating expressions in their speech and to what extent they resort to standardized expressions. The master's thesis provides a valuable overview of the current state of language in Czech political podcasts and contributes to a better understanding of the role of podcasting in the Czech media landscape.
Risk Management in the Ex-Ante Phase of Construction Investment Projects

Cílem této práce je vytvořit specifický registr rizik a vyhodnotit kvalitativní a citlivostní analýzu rizik posuzovaných v ex-ante fázi investičních projektů výstavby. Výzkumným úkolem je identifikovat a následně ověřit korelace a interakce mezi působením jednotlivých rizikových faktorů při hodnocení ekonomické efektivnosti projektů. V každé fázi výstavby jsou určitá rizika, která je třeba vzít v úvahu, fáze budou rozděleny na části a související činnosti, výzkum rizik při investování do stavebních projektů bude proveden na vzorcích výzkumných projektů v různých fázích, různé geografické poloze a různé velikosti investice. V této práci je popsáno řízení rizik a analýza rizik pomocí analýzy citlivosti, SWOT analýzy a po analýzách je dokončen registr rizik pro rizika a jeho zmírňující opatření. Autoři se zaměřují na finanční a environmentální rizika při investování do výstavby skladových a výrobních haly.

Creation of an Investment Portfolio Based on the Economic Results of the Issuers

The main goal of this thesis is an evaluation of executive management in public companies in regards to their ability to allocate excess cash as well as their ability to manage said companies in order to build and mantain competetive advantages as means of estabilishing dominant market position and generating above-average profit, together with quantitative evaluation using methods of financial analysis and corporate finance in order to evaluate financial stability, effectivity and rentability of these companies as well as estimating the value of these companies in comparison to the market price of their shares in order to determine, whether a company can be considered a value investment and whether it will be elligible for incorporating the shares into a value portfolio. This thesis is then divided into two parts-theoretical basis of the thesis and practical part, whereas the theoretical basis revolves around researching practical procedures as well as theoretical knowledge in the field of value investing and financial markets in order to establish unified framework for applying mentioned principles. Beforehand defined value investing principles are used in the practical part of the thesis. Therefore, in the practical part, we evaluate three public companies- Apple, Inc. NIKE, Inc. a The Estee Lauder Companies, Inc. pursuing a goal of estimating their fair value and determine, whether they are eligible for being incorporated into a value portfolio.
Decision Risks Management Methods

This thesis deals with the matter of risk managament in IT projects. It explains the importance of risk management in such projects and shows different ways and methods of managing and analyzing the risks. After explaining the basic concepts and the various phases of risk management the text focuses on two methods of risk analysis - the fault tree analysis of event tree analysis. Use of both methods is explained for both quantitative and qualitative analyses. The second half of the work includes the design of an application for the support of risk analysis employing the methods of fault tree analysis and event tree analysis. This is followed by a description of the implementation of the proposed system in a web environment using jQuery, Nette Framework and Dibi.
The application of analytical methods based on X-rays in analysis of building materials

Master’s thesis mainly deals with XRF analysis of building materials. Comprehensively analyzes the factors that limit the accuracy of the obtained data, creates a new methodology for the rapid analysis of silicate materials by XRF instrument and discusses the influences determining the reproducibility of the results of XRF analysis.
Risk Management Support System

The work provides theoretical base of project management. It describes the current approach to project management as a combination of multiple processes. The process of risk management is described with special care. It also discuss some of the different approaches to risk management. \\ The work suggests new way of handling risk management, that combines risk management and data mining. Data mining approach is also used to mine quantitative risk values. This approach was successfully implemented and tested. Tests showed that this approach is very useful for omitted risk identification. Unfortunately it is also not recommendable for mining quantitative risk values.

The topic of this thesis was the evaluation of selected elements of flood control measures, abbreviated as PPO. The aim of this paper was to develop evaluation procedure of PPO and then to apply proposed procedure to a specific location. FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) that allows the identification of failure modes, their causes and consequences.was chose as a method for qualitative assessment.
Evaluation of the Efficiency and Risks of Investment Project

This bachelor thesis deals with the evaluation of the effectiveness and risks of an investment project. The first part of the thesis consists of theoretical evaluation on the effectiveness and risks of public investment projects – in particular it aids to explain the basic concepts the methods of evaluating the economic efficiency of investments, cost-benefit analysis of road construction projects and investment risk. The second part of the thesis consists of a case study, which is focused on sensitivity analysis and quantitative risk analysis for a specific project.
