Na billboardech, plakátech a online bannerech, kde krátká a výstižná sdělení naplňují svoji funkci propagace produktu by dlouhé, strukturované bloky textu působily kontraproduktivně. A podobným způsobem by použití krátkých “hlášek” v oficiálních dokumentech bylo považováno za neprofesionální. Model
Hládeková, Katarína ; Mazanec, Martin (referee) ; Zahoranský, Dušan (referee) ; Fajnor, Richard (advisor)
The dissertation thesis studies the extension of the context of the term model as a means of interpretation for Czech and Slovak post-conceptual works of art. Based on result of a historical excursion into the history of painting, sculpture and architecture, the thesis offers a new typology of a model which is exemplified on particular work of art of Czech and Slovak post-conceptual era in the first two decades of the 21st century. The historical part of the thesis concludes the following: model in the art is an emancipated form originating from different academic as well as layman discourse; emancipated model has a methaphorical layer and thus it reflects wide historical, cultural and social relations. The categories proposed include: a linear model, a physical model, a cognitive model and an immersive model. The linear model encompases the sketch themes and so-called visualization metaphors (graphs, charts, schemes, etc) and originates as a reaction to information saturation and complicated networks. The physical model is a form to architecture and hobby modelling, it is characterised by a simple, „sketchy“ structure reacting to social themes and individual and collective memory. The cognitive model points to the cognitive turn of the society, it evaluates the materialisation of mental space and explains the emancipated model as an open category. Finally, the immersive model interprets the medium of exhibition as a model form which is articulated by and artisitic manifesto or an architectural interference. Another form of immersion that is being discussed in the chapter about immersive models, is a photographic or 3 D computer illusion as a reaction to society‘s virtualisation. Simultaneously to theoretical-historical research, an artistic research was taking place which became the basis for the creation of different categories and typologies of model. Each proposed category thus includes a so-called author‘s note reflecting the practical part of the dissertation thesis.
Metaphor in Supervision
Vávrová, Lenka ; Havrdová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Valenta, Milan (referee)
The thesis on Metaphor in supervision is divided into two parts. The first theoretical part deals with metaphor in the linguistic level, its semantic level and then the use of metaphor in supervision. As it turns out, metaphor is often conceived as a phenomenon, as an image, or as a grasp of a person's intrapsychic processes. Metaphor itself is often described by metaphor and we can easily get into a vicious spiral. It is the theoretical part of the thesis that takes us out of this spiral, capturing and anchoring the abstraction of metaphor in the real world. The exploration of metaphor has taken the form of a qualitative research methodology, specifically using IPA. The research investigation involved 11 research participants who were purposively selected based on criterion sampling. The research strategy included the necessary self-reflection by the researcher and in the initial stage of working with the data through deconstruction of the text. In the data analysis we can find first the pre-research and then the actual codification associated with direct quotations. This is first sorted into a clear table for better orientation. The discussion then focuses on answering the main research aim that was met and the research questions. These are answered in the form of a kind of sub-chapter when we...
He is the figure or image of the spiritual temple, which is our body. The temple as a metaphor
Havelka, Tomáš
The paper mainly deals with literary metaphorizations of the Christian temple in three basic typologies of the temple, as metaphors of the human body, a prefigurative pattern of the history of Solomon’s temple transferred to the history of church communities and the metaphor of knowledge. In any religion, the temple is not just a place for believers to gather, it has always been understood as a transcendent gate connecting the created world and God’s presence. It represented the “center of the world” and gradually took on various typological and metaphorical realizations: Solomon’s temple, the heavenly Jerusalem, the divine circle, whose center is everywhere and whose circumference is nowhere. This led to the fulfillment of various dispositions. On the other hand, remarkable practices are also present in the literature of the 17th and 18th centuries, interpreting the temple in the opposite way, namely as an anthropomorphic metaphor of the human body, most prominently in the case of J.F. Beckovský.
Imaginative apologetics
FALDYNOVÁ, Milana
The focus of this thesis lies in the cooperation of imagination and apologetics, which - if succesful - can be a step towards meaningful sharing of the gospel. Imagination as a way of perception of meaning can also be a useful tool in today's world, which seems to lose interest in meaning whatsoever. We seem to find a representative case of imaginative apologetics in the works of C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien and Dorothy L. Sayers. Using imaginative way, these authors deal with many apologetical issues in their stories. The need for a good quality work of imaginative apologetics seems even more valid, when we learn that many atheistic and agnostic authors use imaginative ways to defend ideology of their own; this thesis deals namely with Philip Pullman, whose work could be marked as work of agnostic imaginative apologetics.
Italian idioms containing the names of body parts and their Czech equivalents
NOVOTNÝ, Ondřej
The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to introduce Italian somatic idioms, ie those that contain the name of a body part. The work is divided into two parts. The first, theoretical part, presents the basic terminology, especially the definition of the terms "phrasal idiom" and "idiom", presents their properties, their internal structure and function. Furthermore, a brief historical and cultural insight into the topic is made and, last but not least, a comparison of the Czech and Italian conceptions of the issue is made. In the second part, the analysis of a selected sample of Italian somatic idioms is performed, the selected sample is analyzed in terms of formal, ie. according to the internal structure. However, the main task of the thesis is to indicate the possibilities in the translation of selected idioms and to present possible equivalents in the Czech language, including the introduction of various translation strategies. Furthermore, the possibilities of syntactic manipulation and internal transformation of idioms are also presented.
