Urban Analysis of the Town of Telč with Focus on the Quality of Space
Jakwerth, Eduard ; Májek, Jan (referee) ; Tichý, Jan (advisor)
The main topic of the bachelor thesis is public space. The theoretical part conveys a view of the individual anchoring of public space and the aspects that occur in it. At the same time, the historical development of the town of Telč, in which the analysed place addressed in the practical part is located, is briefly described. Finally, the theoretical part is supplemented by individual qualitative elements that must be considered when designing, analysing and reconstructing public space. The practical part deals with the analysis of the selected public space, where the place itself is delimited and gradually analysed, for example in terms of building height, greenery, furniture or surfaces.

Belanec, Radek ; Málek, Štěpán (referee) ; Korbička, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelor thesis of Radek Belanc will consist in the realization of a physically accessible spatial object, balancing on the borderline between sculpture and architecture, created in the logic of a building block, allowing the transformation of the shape of the object based on the site-specific conditions of the chosen locations. The process of work will also be a rehab therapy from alcohol addiction, the symptoms of which will be imprinted in the final work.
The Quiet Omnipresence
Bodlák, Ondřej ; Dvořák, Vojtěch (referee) ; Mikyta, Svätopluk (advisor)
The work, entitled The Quiet Omnipresence, themes the metaphor of grid and line as representing the source elements necessary for the growth of whole forms. It relies on a study of landscape and urban scenery, its quiet ubiquitous mechanisms and processes. The jumble of lines creates a sensorially elusive monochromatic surface that the observer can encounter when looking at organic structures for longer periods, as well as industrially tuned urban compositions. It explores the relationship of order and chaos in its opposite but paradoxically mutually inexorable connotations. The work mostly relies on a specific and not uncommon type of space often right in the middle of cities – vague terrains, places forgotten and deliberately overlooked, in which banal biological processes slowly take the helm determining the direction of a seemingly random development.
The object of interaction
Kallus, Martin ; Písaříková, Jana (referee) ; Korbička, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis on the topic Object of interaction deals with the body and its occupancy of space. It draws on my exploration of manual play and relationships to the human body. To examine them, it uses methods, procedures and means of creative spatial creation. One of the results of this research will be an interactive metal object, consisting of several modular units, which can be rearranged and thus transform the space defined by steel modules.
Mortality of size groups of \kur{Atta sexdens} ants in breeding
WÁGNEROVÁ, Nikola
The aim of the experiment was to determine the mortality rates of different size groups of leaf-cutter ants Atta sexdens kept at the Hluboká nad Vltavou Zoo. The literature review focuses on biology, biogeography, ethology, and ecology, which are crucial for understanding this species. Several chapters are dedicated to the environmental requirements, food, and rearing methods of ants. The practical part examines the differences in head width of deceased ants between two waste piles, in relation to rearing conditions (decrease in cultivated fungus, visitor presence, and temperature in the exhibit) during different seasons of the year. The results successfully demonstrated a polymorphic division of labor associated with the size variability of worker ants. In the area where vegetation was provided as food, ants had a large head width (1,93 mm; 55-2,37 mm) compared to ants from areas without food provision (1,54 mm; 1,16-2,09 mm) (median; lower - upper quartile). Mortality varied throughout the year. As ant mortality inreased, the proportion of individuals with narrower head width increased in both waste piles.

Rapavá, Michaela ; Pospiszyl, Tomáš (referee) ; Korbička, Pavel (advisor)
In her thesis, the student will address the overlap of her previous works based on the theme of corporeality and text through the activation of the basic bodily senses. The result will be a spatial installation as an equal dialogue between material lines and poetic language, with the possible involvement of sound media.
Visible blindness in the urban world society's relation to light now and then
Pata, Václav ; Sedlák, Michal (advisor) ; Gajdošíková, Pavla (referee)
The diploma thesis is focused on city in time and age of artificial lighting. It takes the issue of light pollution as its starting point. Elementary sources and consequences of over- lighting are used as a base for the Forgotten Dark worksheets. The sheets were created in collaboration with Veřejný sál Hraničár (Public Hall Hraničář) as an educational material for the gallery cycle Light. Together with the sheets, a need to widen my knowledge and apply it to a specific situation arose. I picked Obchodní dům Prior and Kulturní středisko Corso (Shopping Mall Prior and Culture Center Corso) in the neighborhood of Krásné Březno for that purpose. The pick of the place directed the development of the themes of the theoretical part of the thesis. The middle part of the thesis is trying to show contemporary city from two essential angles. Firstly, I tried to answer the question about sources of the shape contemporary city has taken upon itself. The rest is focused on building public spaces in regard to their nighttime flow. The final chapter is exploring the object of Corso. At first It is trying to take a look at the context of the city part of Krásné Březno, then it is taking a look at the city part in context of Ústí nad Labem. The gathered information is used for a presentation of possible future of...
Ritual -between visual Art and Theatrical drama
Janda, Jakub ; Pfeiffer, Jan (advisor) ; Tsikoliya, Lenka (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with ritual as a link between the artistic and theatrical worlds. The theoretical part explores the broad field of rituals, which serves as a starting point for the pedagogical task. In the didactic part, the emphasis is on viewing art from the perspective of the theory of the "Gesamtkunstwerk", whereby pupils can be introduced to other topics in culture, art and history through art activities. Based on research into the field of ritual, the opera Rosenkavalier was selected as a suitable topic for didactic transformation. It is not only possible to focus on the issue of rituals, but also to explore the Baroque and Rococo periods, the reign of Maria Theresa, or to go into the field of literature through the work of Hugo von Hofmannsthal, the author of the libretto, by learning about opera as a dramatic and musical theatre form and the work of Richard Strauss, the author of the music for this opera. The author's part of the thesis focuses on the forms of drawing and its use in relation to dramatic art. KEYWORDS ritual, drama, opera, baroque, rococo, art series, drawing, performance, space, time
Side Effect / This could be us
Masevnina, Polina ; Pustaiová,, Zuzana (referee) ; Klodová, Lenka (advisor)
My bachelor thesis Side Effect / This could be us consists of a series of photographs and the texts in the form of a visual intimate diary and focuses mainly on self-reflection. As in my previous works, I reflect on romantic and sexual relationships, changes in my mental and physical condition, whether caused by love affairs, any kind of addiction, or by taking anti- depressants. The side effect of medical psychotherapy affecting sexuality is one of the top- ics I reveal in my project. By creating my self-portraits and writing explicit notes, I satisfy the obsessive need to share my intimate life - digital exhibitionism has a therapeutic meaning in this case, it helps to ex- perience and cope with my current state. I interpret intimacy from the perspective of sharing a personal space. I explore the physical and symbolic nature of the text as the way of ex- pression and my own body as a tool for preserving and living memories. Focusing on the body I materialise it as the map of touches, I turn my experiences into a physical form.
Science & Technology Park in Zlín
Šimoníček, Stanislav ; Svoboda, Jiří (referee) ; Zemánková, Helena (advisor)
Subject of my graduation theses was to define an isolated room of the Práce square, to create a central assembly room, which is isolated from the traffic of the adjacent Tomáš Baťa avenue, to complete dominant buildings of the Bata’s period, to stimulate and to make attractive it for the pedestrians and to design a traffic, street’s and new street’s lay-out, to draw a scientific and technical park and living in the city centre, parking places pro the new designed objects. The architectural - urban project is solving a new function of the square, which originally used as ascending area for then expanding Bata’s plants. After failure of the plants has the square lost his function. The designed solution removes the cars, respects viewed axes, and creates a new raster due to straighten of Březnicka Street, which is parallel to the “green axe”, which separates the old and the new part of Zlín, vertical to Tomáš Baťa avenue. It is bringing new restaurants, coffee-bars, shops, housings and jobs. Scientific and Technical Park concludes the square from the north site. It is designed at the place, where formally a hospital building were - in front of he building 21. It is continuing towards the street and joins the faculty of management and economies with the new university centre. The building height is similar as the surrounding buildings. It is parted in two parts; between them is the viewed axe through the district of SVIT. Block of flats concludes the square form the west. Orientation of the flats is also to the east – west. The flats can serve for the employees, too, for the neighbouring Scientific and Technical Park. Kce is from skeleton and is brick-faces KLINKER, which corresponds to the surrounding building-up area. It contains smaller flats to 100 m2, category 2+eating nook, and 1+eating nook.
