Mikšovský, Jan ; Jelínek, Miroslav ; Písařík, Petr ; Kocourek, Tomáš ; Remsa, J. ; Jurek, Karel
Layers of diamond-like carbon are usable in many fields of industry as well as in medicine. Many scientific groups have worked with different types of deposition techniques to prepare DLC layers with improved or unique properties. The DLC properties could be improved by various dopations. In this study, we focused on DLC layers doped by titanium, prepared by hybrid laser depositions. Two techniques were used: Dual pulse laser deposition (DualPLD) and pulse laser deposition in combination with magnetron sputtering (PLD/MS). Preliminary tests for morphology, wettability, adhesion, hardness, corrosion, friction and wearability were examined. DLC samples were prepared on Si(100) wafer and on Ti6Al4V alloy substrates with titanium concentration from pure up to 25 at.%. Friction of the prepared layers ranged from 0.09 to 0.18. The films exhibited very low wear for loads 1 N and 2 N.\n
The pseudoelasticity and the shape memory effect in CoNiAl alloys
Kopeček, Jaromír ; Jarošová, Markéta ; Jurek, Karel ; Heczko, Oleg
The cobalt alloys (close to the CoNiAl stoichiometry) are the less known shape memory alloys. Such behavior is consequence of the martensitic transformation. The pseudoelasticity is caused by the stress-induced martensitic transformation above the equilibrium martensite start temperature from high temperature cubic phase (austenite) to lower symmetry phase(martensite). In CoNiAl the pseudoelastic behavior can be obtained by the high temperature annealing. In presented work the effect of the annealing temperature on both pseudoelastic behavior and microstructure was investigated.

Kopeček, Jaromír ; Jarošová, Markéta ; Jurek, Karel ; Drahokoupil, Jan ; Majtás, Dušan ; Sedláková, Silvia ; Heczko, Oleg
The cobalt-based shape memory alloys (SMA) are expected to be the new kind of socalled ferromagnetic SMAs. The presented abstract describes the progress on the structural study.
Nanocomposite Ag-HA biocompatible layers
Jelínek, Miroslav ; Weiserová, Marie ; Kocourek, Tomáš ; Jurek, Karel ; Strnad, J. ; Kudrna, P.
Thin films hydroxyapatite doped with silver were prepared by pulsed laser deposition from solid state target. For deposition KrF excimer laser was used. Film topology was studied using SEM and AFM. Film compostion was determined by WDX method. The silver content in layers was changed from single units to tenth of atomic percents. Results of physical testing and antibacterial test (E coli) will be presented.
Problémy krystalizace slitin na bázi B2-FeAl
Kopeček, Jaromír ; Jurek, Karel ; Šíma, Vladimír ; Lejček, Pavel
Although the main source of the grain boundary weakness in FeAl arises from environmental embrittlement, important source seems to be of the intrinsic nature. The single crystals prepared by Bridgman method contain the star cracks when grown with growth rates higher than 9 mm/h. At lower growth rates the stress induced by solidification is not high enough to cause crack initiation.

Samokhin, Jevgen ; Pangrác, Jiří ; Melichar, Karel ; Vavra, I. ; Jurek, Karel ; Mates, Tomáš ; Šimeček, Tomislav ; Hulicius, Eduard
The presence of large objects in MOVPE grown self-assembled quantum dot samples was studied. Creation of large objects and high indium concentration inside was explained as a combined process of accumulation of In atoms on the surface and their following long-range surface migration.
Electron probe microanalysis of nonconductive bulk samples
Jurek, Karel ; Gedeon, O.
Electron probe x-ray microanalysis of nonconductiv samples can be distorted b electrical field formation under the grounded surface. This posibility is demonstarted by Monte carlo modeling.
