The comparsion of the effect of psychothrapy and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation in treatment of binge eating disorder.
Jaššová, Katarína ; Papežová, Hana (advisor) ; Kocourková, Jana (referee) ; Novák, Tomáš (referee)
Introduction: Among eating disorders, the binge eating is the most common disorder with prevalence to 7,8%. It is frequently connected with overweight, or obesity. Current treatment of binge eating is based on psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy and regime approach. Recently, repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation appears as hopeful therapeutic method, for example used with success as an alternative therapy to treatment of resistant major depresion. Because of its non-invasiveness, good tolerability and minimal side effects, new options of its use are studied. It seems to be a promising therapeutic method for treatment of eating disorders. Dorsolateral prefrontal cortex is considered as main experimental target of stimulation for treatment of binge eating disorder. Methods: Study was conceived randomized double-blind placebo controlled. The active group was stimulated by high-frequency rTMS, with stimulation parameters: frequency 10Hz, 1500 pulses, 107s inter-train, 100 % minimal motor threshold and 10 sessions of stimulation. The control grooup was stimulated by sham rTMS coil. Both groups completed FCQ-S and FCQ- T questionnaire before stimulation, after 10. session and one month after 10. session. Results: We noticed statistically significant decrease of craving in FCQ-S questionnaire after 10. session...

Suicidality of Seniors
Havránková, Olga ; Loneková, Katarína (advisor) ; Dragomirecká, Eva (referee) ; Kocourková, Jana (referee)
The aim of this work is to study the phenomenon of suicide of seniors in the context of PBSP needs. The suicidality of seniors is a serious problem and it can be assumed that its importance will increase as a result of aging of population. I tried to find out which PBSP needs are in the largest deficit in sucidal threatened seniors and how to describe the phenomenon of suicidality of elderly people. This dissertation project was realized in the form of a qualitative research study, namely the method of interpretative phenomenological analysis, the principle of which is the study of living human experience and its individualized meaning, supplemented by other relevant research methods. The primary source of data was semi-structured interviews with seniors who had suicidal thoughts, tendencies, or attempts. This research confirmed that every need of a suicidal senior can be detected by the PBSP system and then use it to better understand how to work with this individual. The need, which respondents had in the biggest deficit, was the need of place (doubt about one's own place in the world, loneliness, and the loss of meaning). It also turned out that suicidal ideas of seniors, no matter how many actually acts suicidal, unexpectedly high. The risk and safety factors, that this research has shown,...
Occurrence and symptoms of adulf ADHD in patients with eating disorders.
Štěpánková, Tereza ; Papežová, Hana (advisor) ; Stárková, Libuše (referee) ; Kocourková, Jana (referee)
Introduction: Recently published reviews and meta-analytic studies have shown increased interest in research of the ADHD and ED comorbidity. We conducted a case-control study (133 ED female patients/93 healthy control), screening for ED among ADHD patients (N=64) and a pilot study of a support group program for adults with ADHD and psychiatric comorbidities. Methods: Adult and childhood ADHD symptoms were assessed by self-report and other- report versions of a Barkley Adult ADHD questionnaire (BAARS-IV). Patients with ED and ADHD comorbidity underwent a structured interview (DIVA 2) and Integrated Visual and Auditory Performance Tests (IVA Plus) to confirm the ADHD diagnosis. Participants of the pilot program were assessed prior to and after the therapy by the Schwartz Outcome Scale (SOS) and Quality of life (SQUALA) questionnaires. Results: Using self-report questionnaire of current symptoms 61 (46 %) of ED patients were detected as likely having ADHD compared to 22 (24 %) from a healthy control group, 37 (28 % ) of ED patients were identified with the high probability of ADHD diagnose compared to 12 (13 %) from a healthy control group with significant differences. Screening for disordered eating behaviors indicated previously documented higher prevalence of overweight among men with ADHD...

Herlesová, Jitka ; Hrachovinová, Tamara (advisor) ; Kocourková, Jana (referee) ; Loneková, Katarína (referee)
Psychologist and bariatric tretment of obesity PhDr.Jitka Herlesová Tutor: PhDr.Tamara Hrachovinová, CSc. Abstract The aim of the dissertation thesis is to map psychosocial characteristics associated with obesity and their changes after bariatric surgery. The Empirical part follows the points settled in the Theoretical part. Obesity is a disease, whose prevalence rises. Bariatric and metabolic surgery is one of the most effective treatment of obesity and its comorbidities. The mental diseases are associated with high levels of obesity. The standard part of pre-bariatric examination is the psychological assessment. Several changes accompany the weight loss after bariatric surgery, such as normalization of psychosocial functioning, the decrease of mental disorders but in some cases the changes might be also negative. The Empirical part focuses on the psychosocial characteristics of bariatric surgery candidates assessed during the psychological evaluation and the changes after operation. The data from semi-structured psychological interview, Three factor eating questionnaire, Beck Depression Inventory-II, Obesity Weight Loss Quality of Life and Weight Related Symptom Measure were evaluated. The changes after surgery were assessed after 6, 12 and 24 months. Statistically significant differences were ascertained...
Lichens of Trubínský vrch hill near Beroun (central Bohemia) and a study of Aspicilia dominiana
Lenzová, Veronika ; Svoboda, David (advisor) ; Kocourková, Jana (referee)
Lichens of Trubínský vrch hill near Beroun (central Bohemia) and a study of Aspicilia dominiana Veronika Lenzová Abstract This diploma thesis is divided into two separate parts. The goal of the first part was to carry out a complete lichenofloristic research of Trubín hill near Beroun. There are diabasic outcrops on the south side of the hill. Due to wide spectrum of the lichen species this substrate is very interesting for the lichenologists. In total I have found 125 lichen species there. 105 lichen species grow on diabasic rocks. A considerable amount of recorded lichens is among endangered species for example Aspicilia dominiana, Caloplaca conversa, Lichinella stipatula, Phaeophyscia constipata. The second part is focused on the taxonomic study of the Aspicilia dominiana and related species. A. domininana is recently known only from a few diabasic localities in the Czech Republic. After revision of the herbarium material based on microscopic and chemical characteristics I have found out that the taxon A. dominiana is similar with the A. intermutans. Compliance of these taxa have been confirmed with the molecular data from the sequencing of the two genes nrITS and mTSS too. Therefore I propose to synonymize these two taxa. According to the phylogenetic tree the lichen A. intermutans is not closely...
Splitting and Dissociation in Schizophrenia
Pěč, Ondřej ; Raboch, Jiří (advisor) ; Šípek, Jiří (referee) ; Kocourková, Jana (referee)
The term splitting is defined as a process of formation of mental aggregates linked incompatible experiences producing numerous divisions in mental apparatus. Current findings indicate that psychological splitting in schizophrenia is likely specifically presented on a neural level as disrupted organization in neural communication. This disrupted neural communication likely underlies deficits in mental processing described by various neuroscientific concepts such as theories of disturbed connectivity, corollary discharges and dynamic complexity. In this context, a purpose of the theoretical part of the dissertation is to describe basic neuroscience theories that complementarily reflect interrelated processes between mind and brain underlying disturbances of mental integration that likely present a neural representation of the splitting. A purpose of the first part of the empirical research was to examine relationships between psychological process of splitting and disturbed cognitive and affective functions in schizophrenia. A sample of patients with borderline personality disorder (BPD) was used as a control group in this study. Methods: In the clinical study, we have assessed 30 patients with schizophrenia and 35 patients with BPD. The symptoms of splitting were measured using self- reported...

The difference in the content of Ca and Mg of moss Hypnum cupressiforme on two types of rock, serpentinite and granulite
Paštyka, David ; Kocourková, Jana (advisor) ; Chrastný, Vladislav (referee)
Most of plants are negatively affected by specific characteristics of serpentine. It is mainly due to the low ratio of Ca: Mg, drought and high content of heavy metals. Specific vegetation occurs on the serpentine thanks to these characteristics. Although many scientists looked into the topic of serpentine, mosses were not focused that much. This research is dedicated to the difference in the content of moss Hypnum cupressiforme on serpentine and granulite in south Bohemia. This theses found out that bryophytes of serpentine contained significantly higher amounts of magnesium. Ca: Mg ratio was lower in plants at serpentine sites than at control sites. Calcium has been accumulated by mosses on the serpentine and granulite almost equally, on serpentine, magnesium was accumulated 13 times less and nickel 7 times less. Serpentine plants contained significantly higher amounts of nickel and chromium than granulite. More accurate conclusions would probably bring chemical analyzes of individual parts of bryophytes and analysis of its subsoil. It would be interesting to include pleurocarp and acrocarp mosses and liverworts.
Eating Disorders: Epidemiology and Risk Factors
Pavlová, Barbara ; Papežová, Hana (advisor) ; Kocourková, Jana (referee) ; Šípek, Jiří (referee)
This thesis explores the epidemiology and risk factors of eating disorders. It focuses on the impact of the political and cultural changes that occured in the Czech Republic in the early 1990s. The term eating disorders includes mental illnesses characterized by disturbances in eating behaviour: anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and various eating disorders not otherwise specifieed. It appears that the incidence of anorexia nervosa was increasing until 1970s and remains stable since. The incidence of bulimia nervosa was rising until the end of 1990s. However, the data come from the western countries only. The epiemiological data from the Central and Eastern Europe region remain sparse. Eating disorders have multifactorial aetiology; which includes the recently emerging factors related to migration and acculatuation. Therefore, we hypothesised that the prevalence and incidence of eating disorders in the Czech Repulic rose in the 1990s and that factors associated with migration experiences may play a role in the development and maintenance of eating disorders. This thesis contains three different papers exploring different aspects of this hypothesis. The first paper shows that the number of hospital admissions for eating disorders in females aged 10-39 quadrupled between 1981 and 2001, and remained high till...
