Effect of foamball massage therapy on childhood athma

Title: Effect of foamball massage therapy on childhood asthma Aims: Evaluation of effects of the method of foamball massage therapy on childhood asthma at the pre-school age. Comparison of pulmonary function parameters FVC, FEV1, and PEF before and after therapy. Evaluation of difficulty and availability of the method of foamball massage as a therapeutic intervention in pulmonary obstruction disease. Methods: The sample was composed from preschool children who absolved 4-6 weeks' therapeutic stay in Oliva child medical institution, o. p. s. Control group was composed from children of the same age in whom the method was not applied. Evaluation was based on the spirometry results obtained before and after therapy. In addition, the method of foamball massage was evaluated also by a questionnaire. Results: All the parameters followed were improved in the experimental group after the foamball massage therapy program - FVC increased by 3.54%, FEV1 by 4.16% and PEF by 3.53%. As the control group was examined only at the beginning and not at the end of therapeutic stay in Oliva child medical institution, it is difficult to attribute all the improvements to the application of the foamball massage therapy only. Correlation between Wingate anaerobic test (WAT30) and on-ice field MM636 test

3 Abstract: The purpose of this study was to compare classic Wingate anaerobic test with on-ice specific field test MM636 and also evaluate reliability and validity of MM636. The MM636 uses an on-ice continuous skating protocol to induce a physical stress on a participant`s anaerobic energy system. Subject is instructed to skate at maximal speed back and forth 6 times 36m distance (blue base lines) with full equipment and stick. 22 elite junior ice hockey player age between 16-20 years perform both tests with one week rest pause between them. The maximal anaerobic power (Pmax) significantly (p<0,025) correlated (r = -0,45), while for anaerobic capacity (AnC) we found only non- significantly (p>0,1) correlation (r = 0,28) with Wingate anaerobic test. The blood lactate levels were very similar after MM636 and WAT30. The measured difference was only 0,5 mmol/l. The Reliability of MM636 during a retest were significant (p<0,001) for both AnC (r = 0,97) and Pmax ( r = 0,73). The MM636 appeared to be valid and reliable test, but only a poor correlation was observed between WAT30 and MM636 in this group of hockey players. It elaborates the history of the prohibited substances, negative effects of anabolic substances on the human health and their use in medicine. In addition, it deals the question of use and misuse of anabolic steroids in the area of recreational sport, mainly in visitors of gyms and fitness centers. Title: Energy demands in the modern dance competition Objective: The aim of this thesis is to assess energy expenditure in the competitive environment in each modern dances and its dependence on the structure of the competitive round in competition. Method: Empirical Association Research in 8 dancers of medium performance level. Work metabolism and energy expenditure were calculated from VO2 - heart rate relationship during exercise. Results: The results of the measurements confirm the hypothesis that the competition rounds with the shorter rest interval increase energy expenditure. But the second part of the hypothesis does not confirm that the dance with faster pace is of higher energy expenditure than dance with a slower pace. Effect of sports massage and passive rest on recovery of muscle after applied exercise

Title: Effect of sports massage and passive rest on recovery of muscle after applied exercise. Objective: Evaluate effects of 5min recovery (sports massage, passive rest) after specific exercice on muscle viscoelastic properties (stiffness, elasticity), muscle girth and perceived muscle soreness (discomfort). Methods: Intraclass experimental 2 x 2 factor crossover design, measurements of recovery of muscle were by myotonometer, muscle girth, and subjective perceived muscle soreness by Visual Analogue Scale. Results: Results didn't support the notion that massage has a positive effect on muscle recovery for improve viscoelastic properties of muscle, muscle girth and perceived muscle soreness. 7 Key words: Sports massage, passive rest, viscoelastic properties, muscle girth, muscle soreness, effects of massage.

Exercise programmes for individuals with ESRD treated by dialysis and their effect for quality of life

Title Exercise programmes for individuals with ESRD treated with dialysis and their effect for quality of life. Objective: To evaluate an effect of regular 6 months intradialytic exercise programmes at functional state and quality of life in patients with ESRD. Methods: 15 patients with ESRD on haemodialysis participated in exercise programme during haemodialysis. Senior Fitness Test (SFT), dynamometry of hands and questionnaire tool SF-36 were used to evaluate physical function and quality of life of the research group before and after 6 month exercise period. Results: Results of output motoric tests and questionnaire tool after exercise intervention were conform with majority of cases or better than the results of input tests. Improvement was recorded for patients, that did exercises regularly. Only in one test we observed statisticaly significant change- in case of women, increased their test performance in 2-minute step test (p<0,04). In case of men there were no statistical significant difference. Statisticaly significance of changes between input and output tests, were evaluated by small number of patients in group. Pilgrimage to the myth of place and J.S. Machar

V následujících řádcích se zaměříme na žánrový statut literárního zpracování cesty - cestopisu, a to se zvláštním zřetelem ke zpracování cesty do Itálie v české literatuře. Klademe si otázku, čím je toto literární zpracování specifické jakožto žánr či podžánr a jaké jsou určující rysy poetiky takového cestopisu. Z této práce by mělo vyvstat komplexní panorama žánru, prozkoumaného z různých úhlů pohledu. Svou práci pojímáme především jako teoretickou, ale pro připojujeme k ní i vzorový rozbor jednoho díla české literatury 20. století, jež je podle nás typickým představitelem žánru, jejž zkoumáme: Řím Josefa Svatopluka Machara (1906). Metodologicky vycházíme z prací inspirovaných strukturalismem a historickou poetikou, nevyhýbáme se však ani novější literatuře naratologické.
