Šírerová, Karina ; Vařeková, Jitka (advisor) ; Majorová, Simona (referee)
Title: Educational program influence on the secondary school students' awareness about the assistance to people with visual disabilities in public space Objective: The aim of the bachelor thesis is to study the effects of the educational program on secondary school students' awareness about the assistance to people with visual disabilities in public space. The secondary aim of this bachelor thesis is to summarize the practical and safety principles for assistance to people with visual disability in public space and to emphasize the importance of educational programs for public. Methods: Quantitative research in the form of quasi-experiment was aimed on the effect of the educational program in a group of 30 secondary school students. Self-designed test based on the knowledge of the probands was used as a data collection method, in the form of test questions. First half of the probands took the test after they completed the educational program, the second half took the test without attending the program and their answers were based only on their knowledge. Thirty secondary school students aged 14-18 were chosen as the target group. Results: The survey has indicated that a group of fifteen probands who were given a test after they completed the education program has achieved much better awareness of...
Mountain trekking in diabetic patients treated with an insulin pump
Bytelová, Sophie ; Daďová, Klára (advisor) ; Majorová, Simona (referee)
Title: Mountain tourism for diabetics with an insulin pump Objectives: The aim of this study is to find out whether it is suitable for patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus treated with an insulin pump to undergo physical activity in the form of mountain tourism, as the more intense physical aktivity affects blood glucose levels and whether patients are able to work with advanced insulin pump functions. Methods: The work is conceived as an observational study of the Medtronic educational project. One day mountain hike trip of a distance about 30 km was attended by 40 patients (men and women) with diabetes aged 15-25 years. Non-invasive methods were used. The data was obtained by monitoring insulin pump probes, glucometers and continuous monitoring, which were further evaluated using the CareLink Pro software. Results: Physical activity in the form of mountain tourism is suitable for patients with DM1 treated on an insulin pump. 80% of the probands did not have a risk status of hypoglycaemia, and even though the determined normoglycemia for research was performed by a larger number of adults as opposed to children, this FA has a demonstrable effect on blood glucose levels. It also brings positive benefits for patients because they learn how to work better with advanced insulin pump functions....

Miklovičová, Martina ; Majorová, Simona (advisor) ; Píglová, Tereza (referee)
Title: Comparison of the quality of life of persons diagnosed with intervertebral disc herniation in relation to surgical and conservative treatment. Objectives: The aim of the diploma thesis was the research and evaluation of the quality of life in patients with intervertebral disc lesion with and without surgery, assuming that both monitored groups will be treated with individual rehabilitation treatment. Methods: This research was conducted using a standardized Short Form 36 (SF - 36) questionnaire on quality of life that is conditional to health. The study was conducted at Na Homolce Hospital in a rehabilitation clinic, where appropriate respondents (n = 117) were selected for this research. The group included 59 respondents who underwent surgery and 58 treated conservatively. The survey was attended by respondents aged 27-86. The final results were divided into both health, physical and psychological dimensions in both groups. Two-choice tests were used to compare. For all domains, the assumption of the normal distribution of the two compared selections was rejected, which precluded the use of the two-t-test. For domains where there was no assumption of homogeneity of scattering, the Mann-Whitney test was used to compare. For domains where the assumption of homogeneity was rejected, a Median...
First aid provided by persons after spine and spinal cord injury
Zachoval, Jakub ; Malá, Michaela (advisor) ; Majorová, Simona (referee)
Name: First aid provided by persons after spine and spinal cord injury The aim of the work: The aim of my bachelor thesis is to find out the practical possibilities of first aid in people after spine and spinal cord injury. Next task was to find out if the people tied to a wheelchair are able to provide first aid with sufficient quality. Methodology of the work: I have used three methods of data collection. The first method to identify personal history and basic theoretical knowledge in monitored group was an survey inquiry. The second method was an uncontrolled conversation to which I found additional information. The third method of data collection was observation, where I followed the practical possibilities, procedures and first aid technique in solving selected life threatening situations in individuals. Results of the work: Based on observations, I have found that all probands are able to evaluate the state of consciousness, to pass through the airways, and are able to provide first aid for strangulation by a foreign object and stopping breathing of the child within 1 year. I also found that probes with lesion height to Th7 are able to place the adult patient in a stabilized position and, if necessary, to initiate the resuscitation of an individual who is unconscious and does not breathe...
Effect of 6-months exercise program and a diet modification on body composition and posture of overweight middle-aged man
Železný, Vít ; Daďová, Klára (advisor) ; Majorová, Simona (referee)
Title: Effect of 6-months exercise program and a diet modification on body composition and posture of overweight middle-aged man Objective: The main objective of this work is to verify the effectiveness of an individual, strenght-focused intervention program on body composition and posture in overweight person without previous exercise experience. Methods: Bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) was used to determine the body composition. As a complement to this method, waist circumference was measured. To determine the postural stereotype, method of Klein, Thomas and Mayer was used. Rough assessment was also performed by selected functional tests and basic posture analysis conducted by a physiotherapist. All measurements were made before and after the program. The training program was performed as a circuit training during the first month (2 times a week). In the following months strenght training in series (3 times a week) was performed, supplemented with low intensity aerobic exercise. Results: After 6 months of intervention, changes in body composition were detected, showing a 5% loss of adipose tissue and a total body weight reduction of 9.6 kg. This was confirmed also by a considerable reduction in the waist circumference. The effect of the intervention program has also largely manifested...

Methods: This research was carried out using a standardized Short Form 36 (SF - 36) questionnaire on quality of life based on health. The Czech version used corresponds to MUDr. Petra, Ph.D. (2000). The study was conducted at the Na Homolce hospital at the rehabilitation clinic, where appropriate respondents (n = 170) were selected for this research. The final results were divided into the respective age groups in both groups. Subsequently, a statistically significant deviation between the respective files was verified in each age group and therefore it can be said that there are no significant differences between the analyzed files. Effects: The average age of the respondents who underwent the surgery was 49.2 years, with the respondents treated conservatively at an average age of 47.6 years. In terms of total physical health (physical activity, physical limitation, physical pain, general...

Seifertová, Klára ; Prokešová, Eva (advisor) ; Majorová, Simona (referee)
Title: First aid in drowning - knowledge and methodology of teaching pupils of the second grade of elementary school Objectives: The aim of this work is to determine the theoretical knowledge of first aid for drowning man of students in the second grade of elementary schools and to create a model lesson suitable for these students. Methods: In the theoretical part of thesis was used research of literature in the first aid and water rescue. The research was conducted by interviewing, the form of survey. Analysis method (Non-numerical one-dimensional analysis) was used for sorting the information which were obtained, synthesis metod was used in their summary. Results: The knowledge of pupils at our elementary schools, picked by us, about the safety rules of water behavior is sufficient. On the other hand, knowledge of specific first aid to drowning man is insufficient. In some cases, there were answers which had more than 90% success, but in the basic questions about behaviour in specific situations, almost 2/3 respondents answered badly. Keywords: First Aid, Water Rescue, Framework Educational Program.
