Comparison phenotype with genotype of red blood cells antigens using serologic and microarray techniques

The diploma thesis deals with the erythrocyte antigens genotyping using microarray techniques. It compares the results of microarray methods with the phenotypes obtained by serological techniques. The aim of the theses is to evaluate the degree of identical results (phenotype - genotype) and the applicability of microarray techniques in the immunohematology laboratory. The testing was carried out in the National Reference Laboratory, Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, Prague, in the period January 2014 - December 2015. Methods BLOODchip Reference and ID CORE XT™, Progenika Biopharma S. A., were used for genotyping. Serological determination of phenotypes was performed using Grifols and BioRad gel agglutination techniques. The study encompassed 78 samples of healthy donors of diagnostic red blood cells, 62 patient samples with no possibility to determine the presence of certain antigens by serological methods, and 28 patient samples with the discrepant result of RhD determination. Genotyping of the donors' samples enabled to record variant and weak antigens not detectable by serological methods. Donor samples displayed 100% conformity of serological and genotyping results. This bachelor's thesis consists of two main parts. The first part is constituted by the translation from Spanish to Czech of the selected essays written by the Mexican author José Luis Díaz and published in his book El ábaco, la lira y la rosa: las regiones del conocimiento, specifically in the sixth chapter named CIENCIA Y ARTE: LA INTELIGENCIA DE LAS MUSAS. The second part consists of the translation annotation, which is comprised of the translation analysis of the source text, the characterisation of the applied translation procedures, and the description of the specific problems arisen during the translation process, including the explanation of the chosen solutions. The aim of this Master Thesis is to provide the reader with an annotated literary translation of the book Palabras Envenenadas written by the Spanish author Maite Carranza. The first part of the thesis presents in total of 6 translated chapters of the novella Palabras Envenenadas. The second part focuses on presenting the information about the author and the style of the book as well as the role of the original and the translatated text in the source and target culture context, the development of the translation analysis and translation methods while discussing the translation problems and their solutions. Ángela Collados Aís and Her Contribution to the Development of Translation Studies

This Master's thesis provides an overview of the work of the contemporary Spanish interpreter, teacher and researcher Ángela Collados Aís. It consists of the author's short biography, the analysis of her research in the evaluation of interpreting quality including an introduction into the issue, and an overview of her published works on interpreter training. Selected chapters include a brief subjective reflection on the text in question. The main motivation for this work was to acquaint the Czech academic community with this figure of Spanish translation studies. This is a theoretical thesis, similar to other student works on important figures on the international translation studies scene.
Translation Studies in Slovo a Slovesnost afrter 1945

The purpose of this paper was to overview the appearance of translation themes in the Czech linguistic periodical Slovo a slovesnost (Language and Literature), from 1948 to 1989, and confront those themes with the social and cultural background of the epoch. Realization of this purpose required a meticulous selection of translation themed articles from all published articles in selected years in this periodical and their further examination. The review of social and cultural context is based on additional literature, primarily on translation theory and translation history, partially on general linguistics or history. As a result of this research, content and period importance of 113 translation articles in the periodical Slovo a slovesnost were described. 41 of them include the theme of translation theory, 33 of translation criticism and 45 of machine translation. This paper offers complete overview of translation articles published on the pages of one of the most important Czech linguistic periodical, describes their meaning and together with the theoretical chapters makes a synoptic picture of translation themes that were treated on the Czech territory in years 1948-1989.
French Language within the Czech Education Environment 1847-1948

v anglickém jazyce: FRENCH LANGUAGE WITHIN THE CZECH EDUCATION ENVIRONMENT 1847 -1948 The objective of this dissertation thesis is to analyse the position of French language as a regular school subject taught in the Czech education environment, with focus on the era of the years 1847 - 1948. This interval was chosen intentionally to demonstrate the development and transformation of the position of French language, from the time it appeared in school curriculum as an obligatory subject, through the golden age of Francophony in the interwar Czechoslovakia of the 1930s, up until the year 1948 when the structure of taught foreign languages changed and French language lost its significant position due to the changes in political regime and the post-February policy of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia. The thesis is divided into three theoretical sections which represent different points of view on period French language teaching. The initial section includes characteristics of the Czech education environment with regard to the specific types of public schools where it was taught, as well as references to the most significant education reforms which were shaping the school system during the period concerned. Reception of Czech literature in Spain considering the mediating role of German

The objective of the present doctoral thesis is to describe the reception of Czech literature in Spain between 1900 and 2015 with a special emphasis on German as a mediating language for translation between Czech and Spanish, placing Czech research of this phenomenon into a broad international context of investigating the role of languages and cultures in multilingual communities. The thesis further explores issues partially covered by previous research (Uličný 2005, Špirk 2011, 2014, Cuenca 2013). The theoretical part first provides a short historical context of both countries, commenting on their bilateral relations during the 20th century, analysing the publishing sector and describing the official censorship. It then provides a detailed investigation of indirect translations and introduces diverse methods in which they can be explored, highlighting the importance of paratextual material, that is paratexts (Genette 1982, 1987) and metatexts (Popovič 1975, 1983), and the influence of censorship and dominant ideology (Abellán 1980, 1982, 1987; Neuschäfer 1994). Interpreting activities in Foreign Language Teaching

(in English): The thesis describes how has translation been used in foreign language teaching, which is closely associated with the attitude towards the use of a first language during a second language lesson. In particular, it focuses on translation exercises that use interpreting as the main objective, and pre-translation exercises that use individual skills needed during the interpreting process. The aim of the present work is to demonstrate that these methods can be useful in different types and levels of courses (interpreting as a method) and it does not have to be limited on the education of future interpreters (interpreting as the main objective). The practical part outlines the current situation in some institution in Prague which specialize in adult teaching.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is the translation of two chapters from the book Filosofía e historia en la práctica de la traducción (Philosophy and history in translation) The author of this book is Martha Lucía Pulido Correa. The thesis consists of two parts: translation of the selected text and commentary of the translation. The translation was done from Spanish to Czech. The first part of the commentary is a translation analysis of the original, which includes objective style creating factors, lexical characteristics, syntax characteristics and grammar of the translated text. The second part focuses on the typology of problems, which arose during the translation. The thesis also includes a photocopy of the translated text.
