Water quality development in Mladoticky Brook catchment area
Vacková, Zuzana ; Janský, Bohumír (advisor) ; Benešová, Libuše (referee)
Water quality was one of the biggest problems of environment in beginning of 90. of 20th century in the Czech republic. Since 90. the level of water quality was in czech rivers rapidly better. Mainly in big rivers have accomplished great changes. The small rivers haven't notice that rapid changes. The Czech republic, after entrance to the European Union have committed to comply with Directive 91/271/EEC reduce urban waste water and which should have big influence to water quality also in small rivers. During 90. industry technology, agriculture, cleaning technology of waste water etc. reached big development. Therefore the presumption is higher quality of water in the Czech republic since 90. Goal of the thesis is comparison of results from 1999-2000 with results from 2012- 2014 from Mladoticky brook catchment, which is lined up to small river catchments (79,77km2 ). From this comparison there is obvious trend, if conditions of the water quality are really better or not since 90. [33] Since 2012 to 2014 were taken 12 times samples from 11 profiles of water from Mladotice brook catchment and they were consequential chemically analyzed. The samples were evaluated according to ČSN 757221 and compared with results from 1999-2000. From comparison with data 1999-2000 and 2012-2014 was confirmed the...
Regulatory Energy Institutions in Latin America
Knopová, Diana ; Opatrný, Josef (advisor) ; Janský, Bohumír (referee)
This study intends to illustrate the crystallization and historical and institutional evolution of regulatory energy institutions in Latin America at the time, when regulation became one of the most important pillars of modern governance. The progressive formation of these institutions tends to redefine the role of the state in regulatory policy. The purpose of this study is to give an overview, through a comparative analysis of seventeen regulatory energy institutions in thirteen countries in Latin America, of the heterogeneity in the process of institutionalization of these organizations, with the aim of pointing out the possible risks resulting from the loss of control of their functioning.
Interaction of groundwater and surface water under extreme hydrological conditions in the floodplain of the upper Lužnice river
Fialová, Petra ; Janský, Bohumír (advisor) ; Šobr, Miroslav (referee)
The object of this work is an analysis of the influence of extreme hydrological events (floods and droughts) in terms of interaction between groundwater and surface water in the river floodplain. The aim of this thesis is also the evaluation of the hydrological regime of the upper Lužnice basin and evidence of retention potential preserved natural floodplain. The selected objectives of the work were resolved on the basis of the values of groundwater levels and surface water in the area of interest. Based on data from underground wells and a digital terrain model, it was possible to create an image of the distribution of groundwater levels in river floodplains during selected hydrological situations. Data from surface flow was obtained from several habitats in the flow direction Lužnice. This has enabled graphically illustrate individual flood waves and characterize their size, speed and transformation after the passage of a preserved natural floodplain of Lužnice river. Carried out research has been confirmed retention capacity of the floodplain, which is most significant at flow rates slightly in excess of the flow capacity of the river bed. However, extreme floods or in periods with many culminations in a relatively short time leads to reduces water retention capability of the floodplain. In...
Hydrological regime of selected lakes in the High Tatra Mts.
Sankotová, Tereza ; Šobr, Miroslav (advisor) ; Janský, Bohumír (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with morphometric analysis and hydrological regime of Skalnaté pleso lake and Hincové Oká lakes, especially the lake level fluctuation, during the period 2011 - 2014. One of the tasks was the bathymetric mapping of observed locations. For Hincové Oká lakes was it the first mapping of bathymetry at all. The hydrological regime and lake level fluctuation regime of observed locations shows interesting differences from the other Tatra lakes whose hydrological regime is controlled by precipitation amounts. The annual culmination of Hincové Oká lakes (the largest lake) is shifted into the spring caused by melting snowpack. When there is no rainfall for a couple of days Skalnaté pleso lake often dries up, even during summer months, when levels of most Tatra lakes reach their maximum values. However summer drying is shortterm. Lake level fluctuation regime is very dynamic. After a strong rainfall event its level rises very steeply, up to 0,14 m per hour. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Water quality in the Mastnik catchment area and its influence on Slapy reservoir
Mrkva, Luboš ; Janský, Bohumír (advisor) ; Benešová, Libuše (referee)
Water quality in the Mastnik catchment area and it`s influence on Slapy reservoir Abstract Despite major investments in remediation of waste water and reduction of fertilizers the quality of surface water on small rivers in agricultural and rural regions of the Czech Republic is still very low. Among the problematic rivers is also the river Mastník. This river runs through agricultural area of the Central Bohemian Uplands and as a right-hand side tributary it flows into the Vltava river, in particular to Slapy reservoir. According to the data of concentration of indicators coming from monitored profiles of the State public enterprise Povodí Vltavy which were completed by our own monitoring profile the quality of water has been analyzed. Furthermore, the effect of Mastník on the water quality in Slapy reservoir has been evaluated. It was discovered that the steps that are being taken, mainly construction of sewage treatment plants, are leading to gradual improvement of quality of the surface water. Nowadays the final quality of water is influenced by growing concentration of chlorophyll. This growth is caused by warmer waters and that leads to higher eutrofisation of rivers in the catchment area. The most significant eutrofisation is showing in the creek of Mastník where it's affected by Slapy reservoir. In...
Lima: Problems of Latin-American metropolis in context and mutual interaction
Rataj, Martin ; Janský, Bohumír (advisor) ; Křížová, Markéta (referee)
This thesis is devoted to the complex of problems which characterize Latin American metropolis on the threshold of the 21st century. It is illustrated in the example of the Peruvian capital Lima which cumulates high amount of the symptomatic maladies of the urbanized areas in this part of the World. The emphasis is mostly put on the issue of the internal migration in Peru and its consequence in a radical change of urbanization, especially the fast growth of the slums on the peripheries. The work also deals with the phenomena which are closely connected with it - criminality, decline in quality of life in the city and disruption of its structures, exhausted environment and predisposition to davastation caused by natural disasters. The aim is to show the coherence of above- mentioned aspects, their common origin and to put them in the context of problems in Peru when the main accent is on the aspect of poverty and cultural-racial barrier.

Water quality analysis in the Mastník catchment area
Mrkva, Luboš ; Janský, Bohumír (advisor) ; Chalupová, Dagmar (referee)
The quality of surface water in the Czech Republic has changed distinctly in two last decades. The pollution of important rivers has been reduced radically. Small rivers in agricultural areas, however, remain problematic. There is a long-term absence of information about such rivers concerning the purity of water. Mastník, which flows through the agricultural area of Central Bohemian Uplands and as a right-hand side tributary flow into the Vltava River, is one of those rivers. Quality circumstances in catchment area were analysed on the basis of data about the concentration of selected indicators, which come from three monitored profiles of the State public enterprise Povodí Vltavy. The present state of surface water quality was specified by means of ČSN 75 7221. Further, the development of quality was observed since 1995 and the reliance of the concentration on the flow or the season of the year was rated. All the data, which were acquired about anthropogenic and natural pollution of the river, are very important for precautions, which lead towards the improvement of quality of water in rivers. It was discovered that the precautions, which are made in catchment area lead to the improvement of the quality of water in Mastník. If the present state should be retained, the remediation of waste water must be...
Observation of annual water level changes on lakes in High Tatra Mts.
Sankotová, Tereza ; Šobr, Miroslav (advisor) ; Janský, Bohumír (referee)
The presented thesis deals with annual lake level fluctuation in the High Tatra Mountains. It focuses on the related issue of the hydrological regime of lakes and the process of observation of level fluctuation depending on the genetic type of a lake. On the basis of the available literature, the thesis aims to determine the causes of annual changes in the level fluctuation and to compare these with other alpine lakes. The findings are applied to the lake level fluctuation data originating from the Skalnaté pleso and Hincové Oká. Through a comparison of level fluctuation of lakes in the High Tatra Mountains and the Šumava Mountains significant differences in the annual running of lake levels were found. By contrast, the comparison with the lakes in glacial area, whose hydrological regime is dependent on other physical-geographical factors, show that the annual running level fluctuations are similar. Key words: High Tatra Mountains, lake, hydrological regime
