Nuclear powerplant Temelin from the scenic, estetic and cultorological point of view
Vávra, Jan ; Czumalo, Vladimír (referee) ; Lapka, Miloslav (referee)
This paper deals with nuclear power plant Temelín and its aesthetical, social, cultural and landscape context. The power plant is located in South Bohemia, Czech Republic). Theoretical part of this paper begins with definition of aesthetical paradigm. Influence of history and culture is stressed here. History of europe landscape painting and some important chapters of philosophy and aesthetic are mentioned. Next part deals with social, cultural and landscape changes of Czech rural areas and whole landscape in 20th century. It is focused mainly on South Bohemia and Vltavotýnsko region to show social and historical context of nuclear powr plant Temelín, its construction and influence. Practical part of this paper begins with geographical and demographica! descritpion of chosen locality. It is followed hy summary of power plants influence on the landscape. Paper sums up results of previous studie s and defmes methodology and theory of the qualitative research. Final part contains results and discussion. Results of aesthetica1 perception of nuclear power plant are discussed and put into wider context of changes of Czech countryside and landscape.
Odhad disparit v zacházení s cizizími statními příslušníky v trestním procesu v České Republice
Vávra, Jan ; Dušek, Libor (advisor) ; Kovanda, Lukáš (referee)
This thesis examines the effect of foreign nationality on the outcomes of criminal process in the Czech Republic. Foreign citizens are overrepresented by 2% compared to their share in population in all stages of the criminal process, suggesting possible discrimination by domestic authorities. Using rich case level datasets from 2005 to 2015 observed gaps are decomposed to part explained by a difference in the objective characteristics of the cases and unexplained part, suggesting possible inequality of treatment. Foreigner gaps in probability of charge, probability of conviction, probability of imprisonment, length of the sentence and probability of release from prison on parole are decomposed. Majority of observed disparities in the outcomes can be attributed to higher involvement of foreigners in more serious crimes compared to nationals. Unexplained disparities remain in probability of imprisonment and probability of release on parole, suggesting possible unequal treatment in these two outcomes.
Enantioseparations of drugs and catalysts by partial-filling affinity capillary electrophoresis using helquats as chiral selectors
Růžička, Martin ; Koval, Dušan ; Vávra, Jan ; Reyes Gutierrez, Paul Eduardo ; Teplý, Filip ; Kašička, Václav
Noncovalent molecular interactions between helquats, a new class of dicationic helical extended diquats and selected commonly used negatively charged chiral drugs and catalysts have been investigated using partial-filling affinity capillary electrophoresis (PF-ACE). Three types of interactions of analytes with helquats were observed: (1) medium strong enantioselective interactions, (2) medium strong non-enantioselective interactions and (3) no or very weak non-enantioselective interactions.
Wireless dimmer
Vávra, Jan ; Šteffan, Pavel (referee) ; Pavlík, Michal (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to design and realization wirelessly controlled light dimmer. The microcontroller CC430F513x made by Texas Instruments is used as a control unit. It ensures data transfer from a user to the lighting itself. Information will be transmitted by radio frequency at 868 MHz. The design will include light bulb lights and energy saving LED light sources, which are from manufacturer intended to regulate brightness.
Design of an Information System Part
Macháč, Jan ; Vávra, Jan (referee) ; Neuwirth, Bernard (advisor)
The main goal of this bachelor's thesis is to design an information system, which should help the TOM 1303 Maracaibo organization with their day-to-day tasks. This thesis contains a description of the current situation and needs, design of the main database and all relations tied to it, and description of its many functions. The designed system will be implemented after a discussion with the organization's supervisors.
Experimental estimation of arterial collagen waviness
Vávra, Jan ; Man, Vojtěch (referee) ; Polzer, Stanislav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on the experimental estimation of collagen waviness in arterial . The aim of this thesis is to get orientation of fibres from polarized light microscopy. This is possible thanks to phase correlation and image analysis in programe called MATLAB. After that, it is needed to vertify results in program called Hyperfit. Its done by estimating coefficients of constitutive model and comparing them with biaxial tests of porcine aortas.
Smart Nightstand Device
Vávra, Jan ; Žák, Jaromír (referee) ; Macháň, Ladislav (advisor)
Master’s thesis describes design of smart nightstand device. Aim of this system is to monitor and recognize stages of sleep with subsequent transfer of the data to alarm clock to provide the most comfortable awakening. The alarm clock is backed up by batteries. The system controls parameters of surrounding environment using advanced sensors. The device is equipped with a removable light part which is backed up by power supply for illumination during a potential power outage. A pad for wireless charging with standard Qi is also part of this system.
Optimal layout proposal of technological workplaces in a small mechanical engineering company
Vávra, Jan ; Dvořák, Milan (referee) ; Štroner, Marek (advisor)
This thesis deals with the optimization of technological layout of workplaces in company Petr Bližňák – Metal Fabrication. For optimization are used methods of technological designing. Process of our solution proposal is preceded by a literature search of the issue and explanation of basic concepts in designing. It is followed an analysis of the internal and external environment of the company and assess the current state of the company. Proposals for solution variants are based on calculations of capacitance to minimize manipulation distances and reduce production costs. In conclusion have been selected most advantageous variant and its technical-economic evaluation.
Knee Ankle Foot Orthosis with Hydraulic Knee
Vávra, Jan ; Robenek, Dětřich (referee) ; Koutný, Daniel (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the engineering design of a knee-ankle orthosis and subsequent implementation of a functional sample. The subject of the first part of the thesis is the design of internal shape of the shell on the basis of the patient's leg using CAD software. The second part deals with the design of the hydraulic knee. The knee joint with hydraulic controlled bending enables easier movement for patients who are not able to bring up stairs and uneven surfaces than existing joints. In the implementation was used SolidWorks 2012 and Geomagic Studio 12.
