The Intensive Motherhood in the Czech Society
Pavlicová, Martina ; Dudová, Radka (advisor) ; Šalanda, Bohuslav (referee)
Diploma thesis "The Intensive Motherhood in the Czech Society" deals with the motherhood. It focuses on finding the forms of motherhood in two different social environments in the Czech Republic reflecting the Ideology of Intensive Mothering. In response to identified information from secondary sources in this thesis I consider motherhood a social construct that is proved by the analysis of primary data too. The qualitative research strategy was chosen to achieve defined goals. Outcomes of analysis of the Problem-Centered Interviews, realized with mothers of young children from different social backgrounds, show two different realities of motherhood. This distinction also proves that The Intensive Mothering is not accepted by all mothers. Although the cited authors present it like dominant model, it can't be automatically considered the dominant model in practice.

Papcunová, Kristína ; Lupač, Petr (advisor) ; Dudová, Radka (referee)
The main objective of the present thesis is an effort to understand better how Czech women construct their views on feminism and what factors of Czech distance from feminism are, which is clearly visible in the post-1989 era. The thesis starts with the description of feminism, its development and inner differentiation. Then the author focuses on development and current situation in the Czech Republic, which is specific for its historically contingent connotation. The following section presents the analytical results of the qualitative research. By applying the technique of semi-structured interviews, the author brings up the questions of how Czech women perceive and understand feminism and how do they interpret the current situation of women. One of the main objectives of the empirical part was also to find out whether it is possible to apply Aronson's typology of feminism of the situation in the Czech Republic. Due to the specificity of the Czech environment, the author comes to the conclusion that there can be identified four different approaches to feminism. Within this framework, the analysis of interviews led to identification of several important factors that affect the construction of feminist consciousness among Czech women.

Kotasová, Eva ; Marková, Alena (advisor) ; Dudová, Radka (referee)
The present thesis deals with the media image of women's everyday life in the socialist era. It focuses on the period of time between 1970 and 1975, i.e. on the so called early normalization. The aim of the study is to find out in what way the everyday life of the given period is interpreted by the magazine Vlasta. The main value of the analysis is that it reveals the idealistic presentation of the socialist women's way of life, and their common problems and worries. The analysis of the articles we perform is focused on family and home care, child upbringing both at home and in institutions, man's role in the family, physical and mental health, cosmetics, fashion, etc., i.e. all the aspects belonging to and forming everyday life. Through these topics, which are popular among women, the magazine discreetly created the ideal of the socialist woman. In the messages concerned with everyday life it was passing on the values, stereotypes and even ideological principles of the socialist society of that time. The main aim of the analysis is to create a complex picture of this everyday practice in Vlasta magazine. Cloning, expression and purification of human AKR1C3
Dudová, Radka ; Wsól, Vladimír (advisor) ; Novotná, Eva (referee)
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biochemical Sciences Candidate: Dudová Radka Supervisor: Prof. Ing. Vladimír Wsól, Ph.D Title of diploma thesis: Cloning, expression and purification of human AKR1C3 The purification of the vector pOTB7 containing the coding sequence ( CDS ) of aldo-keto reductase 1C3 ( AKR1C3 ) in Escherichia coli ( E.coli ) cells was performed by an alkaline lysis method. The coding sequence was then amplified by polymerase chain reaction. Result accuracy of the demonstrated step was shown by verification of the size of the synthesized fragment and by a restrictive analysis with the restriction endonuclease PvuII. In the second step, the coding sequence was ligated into the Topo 2.1 vector which was transformed into competent E. coli cells. The cells were multiplied and Topo 2.1 vector with the inserted code sequence was obtained by the alkaline lysis method. The result was verified by comparing of the size of the Topo 2.1 vector without inserted CDS and the vector Topo 2.1 with the CDS on an agarose gel and the subsequent restrictive analysis with the restriction endonuclease HindIII. The coding sequence was verified by the sequenation. There was also carried out the subcloning of the CDS from the Topo 2.1 vector into the express...
Distinction in the sociological theory of Pierre Bourdieu
Knechtlová, Jana ; Dudová, Radka (referee) ; Šubrt, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis called Distinction in Sociological Theory of Pierre Bourdieu is mostly a theoretical writing focused on a description of the distinction mechanism. The main source of information is an almost identically called book written by the above mentioned french sociologist and antropologist, the mechanism of distinction is after a detailled introspection set into a larger context of Bourdieu's theory. In the beginning a few key notions are presented, inclusive of a short biography, introduction of certain sources of inspiration and, most important, the position of Bourdieu's theory within an almost classical dualism of paradigms. The next part describes in full detail some key theoretical notions on which a later understanding of Bourdieu's distinction is based. The mechanism itself is questionned with a particular stress on individual differences not having been captured in previous parts of the text. It is especially the importace of mental pair dualities within the a classifying mental operation and their social consequences, such as a proces of social inclusion, a creation of social identity a complementary running of social exclusion. The above mentioned social processes are above all a consequence of a symbolical violence that socially acting individuals are executing while the classification is...
