The use of computed tomography for control homogeneity of steel fiber-concrete structures
Hobst, Leonard ; Bílek, Petr ; Zikmund, Tomáš
Inappropriate processing of and deposition the mixture during the manufacturing process fiber-concrete structures, the fibers are often unevenly distributed. May experience a grouping of wires, which reduces the overall homogeneity and the quality of steel fiberconcrete structures. The paper deals with the development for monitoring the distribution of fibers in hardened steel fiber-concrete structures using industrial computed tomography.
Optimization of tomographic station GE phoenix adjustment for plastic components including metal parts
Starý, Přemysl ; Petrilak, Michal (referee) ; Zikmund, Tomáš (advisor)
X-ray computed tomography is a tool mostly used in a medical diagnosis. A development of the technique and an improvement an in accuracy of tomographic systems enabled an utilization of the tomography in industrial applications. The tomography allows non-destructive analysis of inner structure. There is a negative influence of a reconstructed area if a low-absorption and high-absorption materials are scanned together. This influence makes analysis of the inner structure impossible. There are two options to eliminate these artifacts. We can use algorithms to reduce metal artifacts, or we can try to avoid them when performing the scan. This bachelor thesis focuses on an optimization of tomographic station adjustment for the plastic components including metal parts. The effect of an usage of X-ray filter or collimator and effect of a sample orientation on data quality will be observed. We use tools like contrast, noise and edge sharpness to evaluate data quality.
Possibilities of the object surface determination in tomographic data set
Kalasová, Dominika ; Novotný, Jan (referee) ; Zikmund, Tomáš (advisor)
This work studies the possibilities for determining surfaces of objects in tomographic data. This procedure is important for post-processing - object visualization, coordinate measuring, export to STL file format etc., and it is complicated due to tomographic artifacts, porosity of material, material inhomogenities, and low-quality data. The possibilities of the surface determination in VGStudio MAX 2.2 software are described and demonstrated on steel fiber-reinforced concrete sample.
The effect of headphone and loudspeaker reproduction on classical music mix balance
Hadraba, Jakub ; ZIKMUND, Tomáš (advisor) ; SYROVÝ, Václav (referee)
Primary focus of the dissertation is comparison of loudspeaker and headphone reproduction and its influence on the mix balance of classical music recordings. A listening test, which represents an essential part of the thesis, was performed on a test group of sound engineers who prepared mixes of selected recordings using both loudspea-kers and headphones. An analysis of the resulting mixes was performed to find out if any systematic changes could be detected between headphone and loudspeaker mixes. The results disclosed a systematic change in preference of reverberation. Individual approaches of the sound engineers are documented by an extensive graphical section of the thesis. Level of stability of the individual models has been examined using repeated testing on selected participants. Selected headphone and loudspeaker mixes have been further evaluated by a listening group in a second listening test. Differences between the mixes were judged using both loudspeakers and headphones. Answers of the participants were analysed to see if there was an increased preference of headphone mixes when judged using headphones and vice versa. The results didn't show significant preference changes based on type of reproduction. The selected mixes weren't found to be "more optimal" when listened to on their respective reproduction device, nor could they be identified based on the subjective preference test. A special part is devoted to evaluation of an internet-based survey featuring a statistical documentation of loudspeaker and headphone usage in todays music recording industry. Special look has been taken at the group of respondents who indicated classical music as primary music genre of their profession. Another theoretical part of the thesis covers the artistic and technical approach of sound engineers to classical music sound image creation, including commonly used technical resources and stylization methods.
Sound Dramaturgy of radio Drama.
Mikyška, Tomáš ; PINKAS, Martin (advisor) ; ZIKMUND, Tomáš (referee)
This thesis is dealt with one of the most important domain in preparatory and production works of radio drama - sound dramaturgy. In the first part I systemize sound material from the point of view of creativity focusing on its formative and semantic potential. Then I apply the previous findings considering the radio drama production itself. I distinguish two phase of sound-dramaturge`s work: phase of timeline construction and phase of building up the sound scene. There are many practical examples illustrating my partial conclusions in the thesis as well as contemplations of next radio drama sound dramaturgy development. I suppose this thesis will be a contribution for radio drama theory in the Czech area.
Prospects of organic farming in the EU with a focus on the Czech Republic
Zikmund, Tomáš ; Vošta, Milan (advisor) ; Kašpar, Václav (referee)
The stimulus for the development of organic farming in Europe came in 1924, but the important period for the development were 1970's. The beginning of organic farming in the Czech Republic can be considered as year 1988. Since the beginning of 1990's there has been considerable development of organic agriculture in all European countries. In 2010, there operated 218,500 farms across the European Union, while the total area of organically cultivated land covered 9,181,507 hectares, representing 5.10% of the total utilized area of agricultural land in the EU. Of this number, there were 3,515 farms in the Czech Republic, where the organically cultivated area reached 447,821 hectares. According to the action plan for organic farming in the Czech Republic the goal is to achieve 5,800 farms and 650,000 hectares of organic land in 2015. From the above it is clear that the aim of this thesis is to analyse recent developments, current status and prospects of organic farming in the European Union with an emphasis on the Czech Republic.
Introduction to recordings in authentics acoustics spaces
Stratílek, Jakub ; Zikmund, Tomáš (advisor) ; Pinkas, Martin (referee)
This thesis represents particular specifications of making sound recordings outside the audio recording studio, it means in the authentic spaces of concert halls, castles, monasteries, churches etc. There are mentioned the main information to explain the way of recording, then it represents a relationship between recording music and the acoustics space, the main criteria for space evaluation and its influence on a musician. There are some paragraphs containing recommendation for the right choice of the authentic space in reference to recording music and its style period as well. The chapter about technical equipment shows the main differences between the technical equipment of classical audio recording studio and ambient recordings from point of view of recording, mixing and directional patterns choice. This text also points out to preparation before recording, preparation improvisation control room and problematics outside noise.

Introduction Into Recording Of Organ
Bejčková, Eliška ; Zikmund, Tomáš (advisor) ; Slezák, Oldřich (referee)
The Goal of this work is to lose some problems of recording of organs. It is said something about recording of solo instrument even about recording of organ with another instrument or group of them. It is not forgotten the small portable organs. In the work it is mentioned the types of microphones, their positions and the postproduction of recorded signals. It is summarized the history and structure of this royal instrument and the work contents the description of same famous czech instruments, with link lable to their dispositions. Lot of photographs help to understand some terms and show some attested methods of recording. Recording of organ is very wide theme, and this work is only introduction into this problems.
