Perception of fear in Žižkov and Jarov

The main aim of this thesis is to discover how the inhabitants of Žižkov and Jarov perceive their place of residence in terms of the potentially risk places and safety. Following this aim the combination of qualitative and quantitative methods was used: questionnaire survey, interviews, statistical data analysis. The researches on fear of crime emphasize differentiation in the perception of fear by men and women and by various age groups, which is also reflected in this thesis. Further the focus is on identification of places which are often perceived as more hazardous and reasons which conduce to this perception. This research also tries to discover whether an overlap of places with higher incidence of crimes and localities which inhabitants perceive as the most hazardous exists. The thesis simultaneously brings closer the theme of fear and fear of crime, options to perceive living environment. The results proved that some localities, for example parks or deserted and deprived places, are perceived as hazardous. The research also pointed that women and some age groups strongly perceived the fear of crime and the overlap of places with higher incidence of crimes and localities perceived as dangerous exists. The analysis of volunteer programs and volunters in the volunteer center Hestia o.s.

This paper focuses on volunteering in the Czech Republic and worldwide. It consists of two distinct parts. The first part is devoted to common principles of volunteering and its historical background in the Czech Republic, the United States and the Europe. The next theoretical part is devoted to volunteer center Hestia in the Czech Republic, national volunteer associations and social volunteer work in the Czech Republic. Emphasis is also given to l egislation connected with volunteering. The aim of the second part is to collect information relating to statistics of volunteers in the Czech Republic. Another purpose of the research is to provide analysis of volunteers' parameters, for examples quantity, age, gender, staff turnover. Should Blaník go organic? Determinants of conversion to organic farming in the territory of Protected Landscape Area Blaník

The submitted diploma thesis deals with the issues of organic farming, its progress, the current situation and the legislature. In addition, the thesis describes the conversion process of conventional farms to organic farming. Further, the thesis presents the farmers' attitude towards organic farming based on the empirical field research, which was carried out on the territory of the Protected Landscape Area Blaník. The conclusion of this work offers a concept of arrangements, which can be used by the management of the Protected Landscape Area Blaník to motivate local farmers for conversion to the system of organic farming.

The research report analyses data gathered in May 2015 in a representative questionnaire survey in 4 out of 7 preselected localities for the siting of a deep geological repository of spent nuclear fuel and radioactive waste in the Czech Republic. The analysis of views of local inhabitants focuses especially on the role of local communities in the decision-making process about the repository.
Social and Institutional Conditionality of Culture Development and Cultural Heritage Maintaining in the Regional Setting and its Exploitation for Effective Organisation

The report summarizes the results of the research project Social and Institutional Conditionality of Culture Development and Cultural Heritage Maintaining in the Regional Setting and its Exploitation for Effective Organisation of the Regional Cultural Activities. The main of the project was paid to research on relations between social, economic and political characteristics of the inhabitants and regional cultural distinctiveness; research on relations between characteristics of the institutions supporting or organising cultural activities, public administration particularly, as well as non-profit and private sector organisations, and impact of their activity on culture development, on cultural heritage accessibility and local democracy deepening; research on openness of these institutions toward themselves and toward general public, research on the practices supporting public participation in planning, organisation and realisation of cultural activities. In the last stage of the project, Methodology for creation of conceptual documents for culture development and tourism support using participatory approaches was developed.
Cultural infrastructure in the Czech Republic – the example of theaters

The authors focused on the issue of cultural infrastructure in the Czech Republic. Cultural infrastructure of specific regions is an important factor that shapes the background for the realization of cultural activities, development of culture and regional traditions. The statement of cultural infrastructure in the Czech Republic was presented on the example of theaters. The source of data which authors used for the presentation was statistical data released by NIPOS, but also the results of a questionnaire survey realized in 2011.
Social Capital – the Factor of Regional Development

First part of the paper shows that social capital plays crucial role in regional development, moreover that regional politics could increase the level of social capital in regions. We were able to distinguish three NUTS 2 regions that significantly differ from each other in the measure of social capital. Moreover we find out that social capital depends also on the size of municipality measured by the number of inhabitants. The larger the municipality is the lower the level of social capital.
Institucionální důvěra v regionech České republiky

The aim of this paper is to describe and explain regional differences in the level of trust in political institutions in the NUTS 2 regions in the Czech Republic. On the regional level the differences in the degree of political trust exists. However, these differences are caused rather by individual characteristics of respondents than by contextual regional factors. In addition, the differences between urban and rural regions were identified. The more urban region is the lower level of political trust was observed. Finally, the size of the municipality influences significantly the level of institutional trust, especially the trust in municipal boards. The smaller the municipality is the higher confidence in municipal board was observed.

This paper is focusing on the differences in voter turnout between municipalities of different sizes in the Czech Republic. We will see that small municipalities has higher voter turnout than big one.

This lecture try to answer on these questions: How to find out that our survey is representative? How to formulate questions in survey? Which topics could be placed in survey? And how to work with and interpret obtained data?
