Dehalogenation of Polybrominated Diphenylethers
Vajglová, Zuzana ; Veselý, Martin ; Vychodilová, Hana ; Kaštánek, František ; Maléterová, Ywetta ; Jiřičný, Vladimír ; Tříska, Jan
Two methods for the degradation of PBDEs were evaluated in this study. The chemical NZVI (nano zerovalent iron) degradation yielded very good results. The best results, however, were achieved by electrochemical degradation. A new electrochemical method that had not been previously reported in the literature was developed. The method employs an electrochemical microreactor. The original experimental results confirm the significantly higher efficiency and degradation rate of PBDEs when using an electrochemical microreactor.
Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers –Design and Validation of Models for Photodegradation
Veselý, Martin ; Žabová, Hana ; Kaštánek, František ; Ponec, Robert ; Jiřičný, Vladimír
Presented study predict ways of PBDE degradation using different methods – photodegradation, degradation with zero-valent metal and electrochemical degradation. Thermodynamic properties of all congeners were evaluated for predicting the degradation behavior. These properties were in this study by quantum-chemical calculations, using a semi empirical method AM1. The PBDE properties from the quantum-chemical calculation were also used to predict the wavelength of maximum absorbance, the octanol-water distribution coefficient and the gas chromatography retention times of all PBDE congeners.
Analysis of the catechol degradation operon from Rhodococcus erythropolis
Veselý, Martin ; Pátek, Miroslav
Three genes of phenol-degrader Rhodococcus erythropolis involved in degradation of catechol and one gene coding for their activator were isolated and characterized. The obtained knowledge will contribute to construction of strains with more efficient phenol degradation.
Plasmidové vektory pro genové manipulace u Rhodococcus erythropolis
Veselý, Martin ; Knoppová, Monika ; Pátek, Miroslav
Vectors for rhodococci, based on plasmids from corynebacteria, were constructed. They are used for gene cloning and analysis of gene expression in phenol-degrading rhodococci.
Fundamental and technical analysis of real estate stocks on the Prague Stock Exchange
Petr, Michal ; Musílek, Petr (advisor) ; Veselý, Marek (referee)
Thesis combines two approaches towards stock analysis, fundamental and technical analysis. Prime objective is to present main instruments of both analysis techniques. At first there is presented theory of both, fundamental and technical analysis. Under the fundamental section there are presented global and sector factors that influence prices of stocks. Section of technical analysis starts with historical overview, followed by graphical analysis and technical indicators. Second part consists of the application of chosen methods of fundamental and technical analysis. There are plenty of graphs and practical examples within the application section to support theoretical principles.
Determinants of using life insurance focusing on unit linked insurance in Czech Republic
Veselý, Matyáš ; Ducháčková, Eva (advisor) ; Daňhel, Jaroslav (referee)
The main topic of this dissertation is life insurance. The first part contains a description of principles, reasons for providing and the evolution of life insurance products. The dissertation looks for related values based on characteristics of life insurance and discusses the reference to the insurance premium volume. The second part of this dissertation is engaged in unit linked insurance -- its construction, investment status and flexibility. In this part is described a profitability diference between investing in different assets as well. This dissertation also describes some matters like broker interestedness and financial crisis impacts.
Thatcherism as a politicical and economical phenomenon and its consequences for Great Britain
Veselý, Miloslav ; Kovář, Martin (advisor)
Era of Margaret Thatcher's government is one of the most important periods of the 20th century British history. Its legacy represents a huge influence which fundamentally changed, with a small exaggeration, Great Britain. The analysis of her government and her political principles which became known as thatcherism represents radical deviation from post-war political and economic consensus. They were equivalent to the real revolution in approach to the relationship between the state, the society and the economy. This thesis concentrates especially on economical aspects of thatcherism, economic and monetary policy and their consequences and influence on Great Britain during 1980s and afterwards.
Stock Price Bubbles
Li, Xiaokun ; Musílek, Petr (advisor) ; Veselý, Marek (referee)
Economic bubbles are playing an increasingly significant role in the current global economy. We believe these bubbles are to a certain extent dominating the real economy, and, therefore, research based on this specific economic phenomenon is becoming increasingly popular and important. The focus of this master's thesis is based upon analysis of stock price bubbles. This thesis contains author analyzed historical cases representative of stock price bubbles; summarizations of their traditional features; common factors causing their formation; and reasons leading to their bursting. Solutions to the dilemma of stock price bubbles are discussed in depth, and emphasis is placed upon clearly deciphering different theoretical approaches regarding this phenomenon-not only from the efficient market hypothesis viewpoint but also from the perspective of behavioral finance. The research contains testing and measuring methodologies of stock price bubbles, and the author's view concerning them is strongly supported by the results within the empirical data-testing chapter. Upon reading, one can expect to achieve a basic overview of this forefront science.
The influence of the investments and the investment incentives on the development of the economy in the Czech Republic and in the region of the former German Democratic Republic
Veselý, Martin ; Munzi, Tomáš (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Pavel (referee)
The Czech Republic and the region of the former German Democratic Republic were both in the nineties of the past century transferred from state-owned economics into market-oriented economics. The bachelor work compares the economy development of the Czech Republic and of the German Democratic Republic, analyzes political, economical and other starting conditions for the transformation in both countries. In the following sites it considers the description, analysis and comparison of the financial and other supports of invest activities in these regions and it highlights the importance of the state agencies. The last chapter tries to compare prognosis of the possible development in both countries.
