Corporate social responsibility and its influence on society

Bachelor thesis "Corporate social responsibility and its influence on society" deals with a form of responsibility in corporate behavior and its effect on surrounding world. A lot of new threats have come up these days because of still rising economic growth. That's why the traditional form of responsibility has to be changed. Corporations have started to implement concept of corporate social responsibility to their business strategies focused on wide spectrum of stakeholders. Thesis is based on qualitative research and presents corporate social responsibility itself and its role and position in society from different views of four groups of stakeholders. I chose these groups: corporations with strategic social responsibility, employees from corporations with and without the concept, nonprofit organizations and customers. Thesis deals with experience of the groups with corporate social responsibility, its influence on them and whether the concept is seen more like marketing strategy and PR or nonprofit helping and being responsible. Survey finally discovered educative influence of corporate social responsibility on society and that the groups are developed by the concept. The Discussion about Expulsion of Sudeten Germans in Czech Society

This thesis focuses on the controversy in Czech society over the displacement of Germans. The dispute is one of the most significant public debates related to the Czech past held since the fall of the communist regime. The work briefly summarizes the historical development of the controversy over the displacement and introduces the political context of the discussion held already in the democratic regime. The main part of the text consists of analysis of opinions on the issues of displacement in Czech newspapers in the period of one year directly before the Czech Republic entered the European Union Concerning methodology, the work is inspired by discourse analysis. However, the author is not that much focusing on the use of language, which is common within this methodological tradition, but rather on what is being expressed through the language, i. e. the contents of the discourse itself. In doing so, he refers to the work of the Czech-British anthropologist Ladislav Holý. The author concludes that two main approaches may be found within the debate over the displacement, and calls the first of them the "official" discourse and the other the "critical" discourse. Manager for Desk Games with Parallel Tournament Playing

The theme of this work is to design and realize an application for organizing classic board game tournaments played by computer programs. The application is based on already existing Manager of board games and extends it, so there is a possibility of parallel playing games within the tournament, among other things. At the beginning I describe existing Manger of board games. Subsequently, I focus on theory of programing parallel and portable applications. The rest of the text summarizes the design and implementation of the target application.

Promotion and media reflection of technological innovations in film production

This Bachelor's Thesis verifies the hypothesis that new technologies play an important role in the promotion of films and in the media discursus about these films. The work deals with the ways of promotion of new technologies in films. The theoretical part focuses on the main technological innovations in the field of film production in a historical overview. The practical part is focused on the development of film technology. It examines the way that selected technological innovations have been reflected in promotional materials, articles in newspapers and on fan websites. A quantitative analysis of the promotion of technological innovations in media was done on selected movies by using the database Anopress It. The work refers to the current ways of promoting technological innovation in movies.
Elite and Mass Culture in the Cinema of the Czech Republic

The bachelor thesis focuses on the difference between elite and mass culture in cinema from theoretical and practical point of view. The first part of the thesis addresses the description of both types of culture (elite and mass) and it focuses also on the historic moments that are essential for that kind of division in cinema. The empirical part describes Czech cinema. It explains what types of movie theaters are associated with elite and mass culture in cinema and what types of programs, audience and ticket prices are connected with it. The last part of the thesis focuses on the survey of audience preferences.
