Ethical aspects of usage of tapping and hidden camera in TV news and publicistics

The core of the thesis includes both description and analysis of ethical aspects of tapping and hidden camera in TV news and publicistics. The subject of the analysis consists of selected reports based on secret recording. These reports were broadcast either by Czech Television or TV Nova between the years 2006 and 2008. The main focus is dedicated to two investigative reports, which are significant for the development of tapping and hidden camera reporting in Czech Republic. The thesis aims to answer two fundamental questions. Under what circumstances are tapping and hidden camera ethically acceptable and secondly whether it is possible to define the border between ethical and non-ethical approach to it.
Private radio broadcasting in the Liberec region between years 1989-1999

The thesis deals with the development of the private radio sector in the Liberec region in the first ten years after November 1989. The thesis focuses on the period of constituting of the private radio broadcasting in the area. It describes the general conditions for private radio sector establishment after the year 1989 which comprises brief summary of the development in the radio broadcasting after November 1989 and the first phase of the dual broadcasting system constitution. Further it defines the basic range of radio formats which becomes the resource for the programme analysis. The core of the thesis follows the establishment, expansion and stabilisation of the private sector in the Liberec region. It includes only stations acting directly in the Liberec area, it leaves out the national ones or those whose signal interferes to the area from the neighbouring regions. The radio stations establishment and changes are followed at institutional, economic and programme levels. Two methods are apllied - chronological description and programme analysis.
Radio in the Netherlands

The purpose of this thesis (Radio in the Netherlands) was to compare the radio broadcasting systems in the Czech Republic and in the Netherlands, specifically in the relation to broadcasting for specific groups of population. Radio in the Netherlands is divided into four chapters. Chapter I presents the history of broadcasting in the Netherlands. The Dutch and the Czech radio broadcasting have a different history and structure, which reflects in the public broadcasting for specific groups as well as for the majority. The Dutch publicservice radio started with broadcasting for several divided groups of the society due to the splitting of the Dutch society into separate groups in the zo" century. Publieke Omroep of the 21SI century attempts to integrate the society better through integration of all groups of the Dutch society within its broadcasting (programs forMoslems as well as Hindus and Catholics, news in Arabic and Turkish) as well as trough universal programs of the organization NOS. Publieke Omroep states as its main goal to represent all parts of the society. This issue is also thoroughly described in the media laws. Influence of important advertisers and sponsors on broadcast composition and content of Czech Television broadcasting (case study Sazka, 2000)

The aim of this study is to analyze economic influences affecting television broad caster s, advertising in particu lar. This study deals with' relations of public service broadcas ters (broadcasters at law) .and commercial sphere. It searches mechanisms which could help prevent from advertisers' influences. The structure of Czech Television incomes is described. Also the legislative setting of television advertising is described including European legislation. Paper gives a closer look to Czech Television and advertisers ' relations studying specific example from year 2000 regard ing corporation Sazka (Czech lottery operator). The events forming whole case are described in substantial detail. The appraisal considers aim to redu ce dep endence 0 f Czech Television on advertising revenues and comes to conclusion that especially those non-standard types of advertisers' relations and new adverti sing formats development· prevent final -reduction of advertisement dependence of Czech Television.
