The topic of the diploma thesis is an architectural study of a cycling stadium, the so-called velodrome, for TJ Favorit Brno in Brno-center Pisárky. The new velodrome is situated on the existing grounds of the cycling stadium. Velodrome has a wooden track with a length of 250 m, along with all the requirements for organizing international competitions. Velodrom Brno provides facilities for athletes, spectators (the grandstand is designed for 2,500 people), facilities for Favorit Brno and also sections for bicycle storage and maintenance. The stadium is also equipped with facilities for Bitcoin cryptocurrency mining and the use of excess heat as a benefit. The stadium itself is then roofed with a parametric steel structure together with a shell that contains photovoltaic panels. The overall design of the stadium then respects the technical nature of the area.

Modernity and holocaust
Vašička, Pavel ; Šindlar, Jiljí (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis deals with the design of the Holocaust Documentation Centre in Moravia. Currently, there are several museums dealing with the Holocaust in our country, but none of them provides comprehensive documentation of the Holocaust. The proposal therefore seeks to create a museum that will be able to report on the Holocaust in a broader context and at the same time will be an attractive environment, especially for visitors living in the multimedia world of the 21st century.
Living on the outskirts of the city
Radchenko, Mark ; Marek, Jiří (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor) ; Pěnčík, Jan (advisor)
On a basis of my project of the second year of bachelor’s study on the Faculty of Civil Engineering the following bachelor‘s thesis is prepared, which goes on to the Documentation for Building Permit and Documentation for Construction. The theme of the work is Viladům in the Masaryk´s quarter in Brno. The basic idea of my project was to create a modern building with four above-standard apartments. The building responds to the surrounding buildings, it is designed with regard to the street line and the height of the surrounding buildings. The building corresponds to the surrounding buildings and taking into account the street line and the height of the surrounding buildings. The composition of the building is inscribed in the floor plan of the square and is formed by the play of heights and the movement of two parts in opposite directions and gives the impression that it consists of several figures. The jump-off is created for the sake of greater privacy between the flats and to prevent the visual overhang of the surrounding buildings. The northern part of the building includes a communication core, a bedroom with a private bathroom and an office. The orientation of the living rooms and dining rooms with the kitchen to the south side makes it pleasant sitting in the most illuminated part of the building. The land of the building is enclosed by a concrete fence. Viladům contains 4 floors. The main entrance is from Helceletova Street. The ground floor contains an entrance hall, a¨pram room, 4 cellars and 8 parking spaces, including 1 handicap. In the upper floors there are apartments with terraces. Each apartment has its own personal type of layout, which results from the different position of the entrances to the apartments. The 2 upper apartments are duplex. The facade of the building is filled in white silicone silicate plaster and structured plaster of fine gray-colored concrete for visual separation and lightening of the living floors.

Pruchová, Patricie ; Ing. arch. Petra Žalmanová, Ph.D (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor) ; Struhala, Karel (advisor)
The subject of this work is the restoration of the chateau and the manor house in Vážany nad Litavou. This building is located in the center of the southern part of the village of Vážany nad Litavou, on the main street of this southern part of the village. The building is a corner building that takes on quite a bit of dominance through its subdivisions. The building is not a cultural monument, but as part of this work we try to treat the building as if it were a cultural monument. The building dates back to the 1880s. The building includes a shed, which is probably added later. When inspecting the building, it is clear that the construction went through several different periods of time. It’s obvious with the hole filler, especially the windows. The aim of my design is to restore the vividness of the building, to force not only the locals to visit beautiful vaults and to restore the dominant object.
Restoration of the chateau and manor house in Vážany nad Litavou
Morongová, Lenka ; Ing. arch. Petra Žalmanová, Ph.D (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor) ; Struhala, Karel (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to restore the chateau and the manor house in Vážany nad Litavou. The building is located in the village of Vážany nad Litavou, located approximately 3 kilometres southwest of Slavkov u Brna. The building is situated in the southwest of the village and can be found in the old construction of the village. The building is two-storey and partially sub-cellared. The roof above the one-storey section is saddled and the roof above the two-storey section is half-hipped. The roof includes two skylights. The building is not a cultural monument. It was built by the Jesuits in the 80s of 16th-century. In the 70s of 18th-century, the Jesuit order was abolished. Since 1950, the building has been owned by the JZD (single agricultural cooperative). The building is now used only in a small part. There are services (nail studio and textile shop), and some rooms are used for local associations (hunter and breeders). The aim of my design was to give the structure its original form – that is to purge it of structures that suppress its historical appearance. There will be replacement of windows, doors, roof covering. There will be new tinsmith elements and ledges. The building will have new uses. There will be the production of macarons and herbs products, candy store and sewing workshop to process dried herbs. These will be grown in the garden.
Restoration of the chateau and manor house in Vážany nad Litavou
Machová, Kamila ; Marek, Jiří (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor) ; Struhala, Karel (advisor)
This work aims to restore the castle and the manor house in Vážany nad Litavou. This building is located in the centre of the southern part of the village of Vážany nad Litavou, on the main street. The building is situated roughly in the middle of a series of estates on the west side of this street. The building is a rugged corner building. The building is not a cultural monument, but as part of this work, we try to treat the building as if it were a cultural monument. The history of the building is not well documented and the first written references date back to 1643. In the 16th century, the Jesuits built not only an economic building in Vážany nad Litavou but also a chateau in the corner position, which is partly palatial and partly ground floor. In the 19th century, the castle is transformed into a classical castle. After 1945, the entire facility was confiscated and forfeited to the state. Five years later, the newly established single agricultural cooperative was put into administration. Cooperative offices were created in the building and two housing units were created on the floor, which later replaced only storage space. Today, the castle building serves the needs of various private institutions and has remained as it was acquired during the early 19th century. My prosal aims to restore the structure to serve the public again. Interference with the exterior appearance from the aisle section will be demonstrated by replacing and increasing the rafters in the right and left wings of the building, replacing roofing, adding roof windows and replacing existing windows with six-table windows. The building gets a new facade. The appearance of the building from the side of the yard will be complemented by a rectangular extension of steel with a glass facade and decorated art stained glass. This addition will include a new staircase.
Living on the outskirts of the city
Brabcová, Eliška ; Žalmanová, Petra (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor) ; Matějka, Libor (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis follows on from the courses “Studio creation AG 032” and “Complex project AG 036”. The main theme of the bachelor's thesis is the design of a residential building on the outskirts of the city Brno. The corner plot is situated on the very edge of the Líšeň district, near to the Mariánské údolí valley. The building is located in the northern part of the plot, in the southern part there is a garden. The main entrance to the plot is from Ondráčkova Street. The entrance to the underground garages is from the side road. A significant element of the building's concept is an exterior staircase. The staircase is used not only as a vertical communication, but also as a design element of the facade. The staircase is situated on the northern facade of the building. Considering cardinal directions, north facing orientation of the staircase is ideal. The floor plan of the building is regular, rectangular in shape. The building is not divided in any way, only in certain places the material is appropriately removed in order to create loggias. Each apartment has its own loggia, except for the “1+KK” (one bedroom apartment with kitchenette) on the 2nd floor. Each apartment on the ground floor has a secured terrace, which is accessible from the living room. It is a four-storey residential building. The upper floors are used for living, there is a total of 6 housing units of various sizes, including one duplex. The basement is used to access the house – collective garage, cellar, utility room and cleaning room.
Architectural study of the sacral object Brno - Líšeň / second stage
Šebela, Vojtěch ; Hrabec, Josef (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor)
The topic of the diploma thesis is the design of the Roman Catholic Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit in Brno Líšeň. The building will complement the needs of the Salesian community, which has been operating in the nearby Salesko youth house for almost 30 years and focuses on educating young people using methods from Don Bosco. The design of the church also envisages the construction of facilities for parishioners and accommodation for Salesians. It should also serve not only the current community, but also the general public. The design offers a solution how to modernize a building of these dimensions into an urban complex such as a housing estate in modern times. All this with an emphasis on minimizing the negative impacts on existing residents who use the surrounding areas for recreation. The building will consist of two functional units. The first will consist of a church building with a capacity of 300 seated and 100 standing parishioners. The second part will be a parish center with a community hall for 100 people. There will also be apartments for priests, a hobby workshop and parish offices.
