The motivation to work long-term unemployed persons

This thesis deals with motivation of long-term unemployed when looking for a job. It is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with basic overview of theories of motivation and motivation to work. It also defines basic concepts regarding long- term unemployment. In connection with the issue it describes a system of material poverty, unemployment and abuse of social benefits. The final chapter of this section is devoted to a summary of the theoretical part. The practical part of the work contains the results of a research. Qualitative method and semi- structured interviews with beneficiaries in material need were used for data acquisition. The aim of the research is to understand what factors influence the motivation of long-term unemployed when looking for a job and when trying to solve their social situation. Part of this section is the interpretation of the results of the research and its evaluation.
Options of harmonization of work and family in terms of setting the pillars of flexicurity in the Czech Republic

Bachelor thesis "Možnosti harmonizace práce a rodiny z hlediska nastavení pilířů flexicurity v ČR" deals with situation regarding the setting of two of three pillars of flexicurity (numerical flexibility and jobs protection, employment protection supporting functional flexibility) and possibilities of harmonization of work and family in the Czech Republic. The goal is to evaluate which actions of flexicurity there are in our country and what effect they have on the situation regarding the reconciliation of work and family roles and what could be improved in this issue. Within the evaluation of the current situation was described and evaluated the system setting of childcare, which contributes by a large degree to opportunities for females on labour market and thus also to harmonize work and family. The issue has been consulted from a gender perspective. Also the system of active employment policy and lifelong learning, which contributes to functional flexibility, was described and evaluated. The second part is created by the results of interviews analysis, which were performed by the author with experts from organizations such as MPSV, Hospodářská komora, ČMKOS or Gender Studies. Bachelor thesis "Employment policy in Czech and Slovak Republic" deals with analysis of employment policy emergence from 1989 to 2011. After the fall of communism rised unemployment and very important was react to it. In 1991 were created principles of employment policy. At this moment is necessarily adapt this policy to economics and labour market situation. That brings many legislative changes. Exactly this problem I am describing in my thesis. Institucional and legislative development is supported by analysis of employment policy, economics and social kontext. Comparation of all analyses brings collection of details and differences in their development.
Employment and Employment Possibility of Older People in the Czech Republic

This bachelor thesis deals with the situation of elderly people in the labour market. Czech population is aging. Life expectancy is increasing and the number of older people grows. This fact influences labour market and overall development of society. In order to continue functioning of social system and in order to maintain the current standard of living of the elderly population, it is necessary to participate in the labour market for a longer time. Elderly people do not represent an interesting and promising workforce for companies in many ways. Employers do not appreciate the quality and potential of seniors and prefer younger workers. Elderly people are persons of pre-retirement age who are ranked as a risk group in the labour market, threatened by unemployment. This thesis defines barriers limiting larger economic activity of elderly people. The main goal is to identify existing instruments to combat shortages of older people. The thesis proposes the measures to encourage elderly people's involvement in the labour market, and opportunities to increase their human capital. The research results indicate that key factors for long working life are advanced training and development of qualification and skills. These actions enable the extension of economic activity, which is a necessity nowadays.
Women in the context of work and family role balance. Motherhood and career pathing as two main imperatives of contemporary women's life

The Bachelor thesis deals with three groups of strategies for reconciliation of work and family roles of contemporary Czech women. The strategies are devided according to three ideal types of women. These ideal types are women who are seeking to harmonize work and family life, than women working only in the sphere of employment, and - finally only women in the sphere of family and household. The text is devoted to various three types of women and to specific groups of women, which are linked with these ideal types according to their character. In the second part of the thesis an analysis of tools is made which could help to work-life balance in the Czech Republic, namely the tools provided by two subjects, which are the state and employers. Furthemore, in this part barriers are analyzed, which prevent women from successful reconciliation of private and public life. These barriers are also divided into those that come from the state and those from employers. Resources for processing the thesis are secondary data obtained by literature research and primary data from interviews with actors (qualitative method). The effect of minimum wage and social unemployment benefits on motivation to occupation

Presented dissertation analysis to what extent is motivation to occupation affected by minimum wage and by State system of social help. It focuses on very controversial topic of today's society and that is if current rate of minimum wage is sufficient for people to pay off or if it is discouraging them to search for a new job so people then prefer to draw the social benefits rather than working. The dissertation illustrates definition of minimum wage and its development in the Czech Republic, furthermore it deals with the function of minimum wage and especially with its influence on motivation to work and its consequences on an employment. It also contains how and in what amount the minimum wage set down in European Union is. In the contrast the dissertation handles the theory of welfare state and social system in the Czech Republic, it contains scope of social benefits which are in the Czech Republic provided during unemployment or to people with low income. The thesis: "Influence of employment politics on situation of people at the age of 50 + on the labour market: Case study of the Vsetín district" deals with problems of older people's position on the labour market in the Czech Republic focusing on the Vsetín district and influence of employment policy on this position. This thesis characterizes the group of people at the age of 50 and more as labour power and deals with their strategies on the labour market. It also deals with employment policy of the European Union related to the group of people at the age of 50 and more on the labour market and analyses strategic documents of the Czech Republic solving these problems in detail. Furthermore this thesis focuses on the employment policy of the Czech Republic, mainly on analysis of functions, possibilities, limits and influence of chosen tools of the active employment policy on the lowering of the number of the unemployed people who belong to the above mentioned age-group on the labour market. Long Term Unemployment of Persons of Age from 18 to 24 in the District of Sokolov.

This thesis deals with the problem of unemployed people aged 18 to 24 in the district of Sokolov. This group of people represents the highest amount of unemployed people in the district of Sokolov. The essential sources of data include the available statistics of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, the Czech Statistical Office, the Municipal Office of Sokolov and the Labour Office of Sokolov. To make the problem clear it was very important to find out whether also other subjects than the Labour Office of Sokolov participate on finding a solution to unemployment of young people. An integral part of my thesis is an analysis of the labour market in the district of Sokolov. The consecutive analysis of the instrumets used in the active employment-politics in the district of Sokolov gives answer to the question whether all the available instrumets for the active employment-politics are used in the district of Sokolov. To get the whole picture of the problem, employees of the Labour Office of Sokolov and of the Department of Social Help in Material Need of the Municipal Office of Sokolov were questioned. Changes in the system of social benefits in the Czech Republic after the EU entry

My Master thesis Changes in the system of social benefits in the Czech Republic after the EU entry deals with the modification of provision of social benefits for citizens as well as with the effects this modification will have brought. Basic research problem of my thesis is based on finding out whether this new social benefit system in the Czech Republic is in accord with the EU Commission for poverty elimination. Theoretical observations about poverty, social protection and help system development in the Czech Republic represent the basis for my thesis. The theoretical part of my thesis is dedicated to the basic terminology analysis, the legal regulations of the social protection system and the changes accomplished in the social help system. The practical part, based on available and proven data, analyzes a new structure of subsistence level, the subsistence level in connection with the minimum wage and with the unemployment rate, it deals with the impact of the legislative changes on beneficiaries. The research is focused also on the activating elements of the social help and on the possibilities of welfare officers taking part in solving the material needs of beneficiaries.
