Case study of siblings with mental disabilities in foster care

The bachelor thesis captures the life of two siblings who were taken from the children's home and placed in foster care. They were subsequently diagnosed with mental retardation, namely moderate mental retardation. The bachelor thesis focuses on the description of intellectual disability, its classification, aetiology, typical signs and manifestations of mental retardation. It also describes the possibilities of education and employment of people with intellectual disabilities. It also focuses on types of alternative family care, where it specifically emphases on foster care, including legislation that is closely related to this topic and the history of alternative family care. The second part of the thesis describes the life of siblings in foster care through interviews with foster parents and siblings themselves. This shows the everyday life of this family, the everyday pitfalls and obstacles they have to face, and the problems they have to deal with. The foster parents describe the periods when they decided for foster care, then they talk about the path of children through the school education system, and about their prospects and plans for the future. Social services of people with disabilities according to the legislation in the Czech Republic

The objective of this work is the clear introduction to the system of social care for the people with disabilities. Usage, accessibility and quality of the social care system is verified by the survey. In the first chapter, historical development of the social care is presented. Also, there is the definition of a disability. Today's legislation is discussed in the second chapter. Analysis of the care allowance is discussed in the third chapter. In the fourth chapter, multiple social services are defined. Also, examples of registered providers are listed in the chapter four. The quantitative research is introduced in the fifth chapter. Four hypothesis concerning accessibility and quality of the social care are confirmed by visually impaired respondents of survey. The autonomy and the protection of the social care users by rules for providers is emphasized. This work proves that the social care and registered providers are perceived positively. It is also confirmed that the care provided by the close person is the most desired one.
Development of perceptual skills of the pupil with developmental dysphasia

This thesis deals with development of perceptual skills of the pupil with developmental dysphasia during younger school age. This thesis is divided in two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part includes three parts which characterize the whole concept of this problems. The first chapter deals with human speech development. The second chapter includes speech disorders , describes individual parts of speech disorders. The third chapter defines the developmental dysphasia and its terminology, etiology, symptoms and prognosis. It also describes diagnostic methods of the developmental dysphasia and follow-up therapy. The practical part contains a research survey based on efficiency own exercises set oriented on the visual and hearing perception by the younger school learners with developmental dysphasia. The research part contains research schedule, describes survey sample and research methods. At the end of the chapter the results of survey were summarized. Education students with different motherly language in selected elementary schools in Prague

This diploma tesis describes education students with different motherly language in the Czech Republic. On a theoretical level, it explains more common concepts of migration, as well as concepts related to the education of foreign students. It also introduces the number of foreign students attending Czech primary schools and primary schools in the capital city of Prague. The thesis describes the school legislation concerning education students with different motherly language, financing possibilities of the Czech language courses, and also presents with non-governmental non-profit organizations active in this field. On the practical level, the thesis focuses on different systems of education of students with a different motherly language in three primary schools in the capital city of Prague. The thesis describes how individual schools organize teaching of Czech as a second language, which support measures in the education of students with a different motherly language they provide, what special study materials they use and what extra services they offer to these students. Analytic-syntetic method of reading praktice and incidence of dyslexi a among primary school pupils

The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis includes knowledge gained from selected specialized literature dealing mainly with the topic of specific learning disabilities and especially with problems of dyslexia. There are described types of dyslexia, its impact on pupils lives and breathly something about history. It also covers in detail the theme of analytical-synthetic method of initial reading, which is still one of the most used methods of initial reading practice in the Czech republic. The practical part of the thesis consists of a research, which was realized by the method of questionnaire survey. Its purpose was to find out how many pupils with certain levels of dyslexia as a type of specific learning disabilities are in the first to fourth years at elementary schools, where reading is taught by an analytical-synthetic method. Research results found about 6.4% of pupils with varying degrees of dyslexia in the first four years of the research sample of schools, where reading is taught by the analytical- synthetic method. The analytic-synthetic method then emerges as the second best compared to the other two most commonly used methods of initial reading practice. Cooperation with families of roma chisldren from perspective of teachers from region Liberec

This thesis focuses on the relation of a Roma pupil and a school from the point of view of a teacher. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is divided into four subtopics. The first subtopic is dedicated to the Roma in Czech society, their differentiation, the social situation of the Roma, the relation between the majority and the minority, and especially the conflicts between the majority and the minority. The second theme deals with the Roma family, how it looked in the past and what it is today. It also focuses on the education of children by gender and the family's influence on the child's success in school. The third theme deals with the education of the Roma and especially with pre-school, primary and secondary education. The fourth theme describes communication with Roma parents. The second part deals with the research itself. The research method used is a qualitative method and especially a semi- standardized questionnaire. Development of speech and non-speech areas of a child with developmental dysphasia

The bachelor thesis is conducted as a case study of a boy with an expressive type of developmental dysphasia. This study deals with the possibilities of developing the individual speech and non-speech areas of a given boy. The theoretical part is focused on describing the development of children's speech, the theoretical definition of impaired communication ability and the theoretical anchorage of developmental dysphasia from the point of view of etiology, symptomatology and diagnostics. The theoretical part also deals with therapy and development of individual areas of a child with developmental dysphasia. The second part of the thesis is focused on the development of speech and non-speech areas from the practical side. It analyses the available medical reports and presents the results of the input and output guideline evaluations of individual areas of the boy. It also describes the course of development of individual areas of a given boy and presents the used material. The bachelor thesis therefore aims to analyse the speech and non-speech areas of a boy with developmental dysphasia and to describe the possibilities of their development.
