Questions of Economics Understanding of Primary School Students

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the economic thinking of third grade students in primary school. On the basis of identified deficiencies, a set of ideas leading to more effective teaching is proposed. The theoretical section includes an examination of the state of economic thinking in primary school pupils in the Czech Republic and abroad. This explains the present form of financial education in the Czech Republic, and examines children's understanding, particularly in relation to constructivism. The practical section describes the preparation and implementation of qualitative research in the form of semi-structured individual interviews with pupils in their 3rd year, and 1st grade of primary school. In the conclusion, a set of ideas aimed to develop the financial thought processes of younger school students, supplement their knowledge, and strengthen their overall economic thinking, is proposed.
Labour market in the European Union

The graduation thesis consists of two parts. The first part deals with the general operation of the labour market and the key principles and factors occurring in this area, such as the subsistence wage or the activities of trade unions. Special attention deserves the issue of unemployment and public employment policy. In the second part, the general information of the previous section is inserted into the framework of a particular economic situation and the evolution of unemployment in the European Union during the last decade. An important role is played by taking various forms of national employment policy and social policy which are dealt with separately. The same attention is paid to the main EU institutions and strategies that seek to eliminate negative phenomena occurring on the European market.
Educating about financial literacy at primary schools

This master's thesis focuses on the teaching of financial literacy at lower secondary schools in the Czech Republic. The main goal was to characterize and evaluate a selection of internet based programs that specialize in financial literacy in order to gain insight on how the users view the issue at hand and how they interact with these programs. The thesis employs a qualitative research method. The first section is devoted to the theoretical introduction to finance, its definition, characteristics and the components of financial literacy. A special focus was also put on the development of financial literacy in the Czech Republic and the main documents in which it is grounded. The need for implementation of financial literacy into secondary schools' curriculums was based on surveys about the level of financial literacy among students and public. The practical part of this thesis consists of two closely interrelated sections. Firstly, it outlines and examines three different online programs created to help teachers design their financial literacy courses more effectively. Secondly, the thesis presents a methodological research using structured interviews with open questions and concludes by demonstrating the results. Abstract This bachelor's thesis evaluates the currently most popular types of savings accounts and their characteristics of use in everyday life. The thesis is divided into two parts where the first part gives an account of various savings account types and elaborates on their pros and cons from the customer's perspective. A very important factor for the comparison of different types of savings accounts is the interconnection of the three vertices of an investment triangle representing risk, liquidity and profit. The second part of the thesis is more practical and presents two types of savings accounts offered by three different financial institutions which more or less vary. The thesis then concludes by illustrating the differences between various types of savings accounts and summarizes the key findings. Keywords: saving, bank, financial product
Unemployment in European Union

Diplomová práce ukázala, že nezaměstnanost je v současné době jedním z nejzásadnějších problémů, které musí EU a její členské státy vyřešit. Vysoká míra nezaměstnanosti totiž znemožňuje evropské ekonomice dostatečně rozvíjet svůj potenciál a držet se tak v konkurenci vyspělých světových ekonomik. Potvrdily se v úvodu stanovené hypotézy, že vysokou míru nezaměstnanosti vykazuje (nebo vykazovala) většina zemí EU. V některých zemích a regionech se s ní daří úspěšně bojovat (Irsko, Velká Británie, Rakousko...), jiné se o vyřešení stále pokoušejí (Německo, Francie, Itálie...), více či méně úspěšně. Na jednotlivé problémy týkající se nezaměstnanosti (vysoká míra nezaměstnanosti žen, starších osob, mladých lidí, vysoká míra strukturální nebo dlouhodobé nezaměstnanosti) nelze pohlížet izolovaně, ale je nutné je řešit komplexně jako celek několika faktorů. Při bližším zkoumání se totiž ukázalo, že jeden problém nestojí nikdy osamoceně, ale že naopak jeden aspekt podmiňuje druhý a navzájem se všechny prolínají a ovlivňují.
Gender and management

This thesis focuses on gender issues in management. The emphasis is puting on role of gender in management, on differences in harmonization of the working and family life for men and women and with respekt to difficult situations in career building for women, especially in matters of competence for the performance of this office. The thesis further focuses on the issues of equal opportunities for men and women to build their own career, gender inequalities and problems in relationships of families, households and careers. Part of the thesis also describes the public opinions on gender issues in management. The last chapter introduces the issue of managers free time. The aim of the work is to analyse the economic development from 2007 to 2009 with help of macro-economic indicators, with a special attention to problems of employment, labour market and anti-crisis measures, with were taken in the field of labour policy.
Banks and their role in the economy of the Czech Republic

The subject of this diploma thesis is the characteristic of banks and its role in the economy of the Czech Republic, the introduction of core bank activities and products as well as analysis of significant bank products, such as building savings. The first part presents the functioning of bank system, the central bank and commercial banks. The second part deals with the principles of building savings, development and evaluation of the most important changes in building savings in the Czech Republic. In this thesis is also comparison of the building saving in Germany, Austria and the Slovak Republic, and there is outlined potential future development of building savings in the Czech Republic. The conclusion summarizes the most important findings about the role of banks with special focus on the analysis of building savings.

The first part deals with the term insurance and describes its various types. The other parts concentrate specifically on the pension insurance of Czech Republic. The thesis presents information about these products from the time of their implementation until present with main focus on the second and third pension pillars. It gives a thorough description of these two pillars supported with up-to-date information and the analysis of their possible future developments. The end of the thesis summarizes and evaluates the most important facts and data acquired from the survey on the use of these insurance products.
