Marketing and advetising of fine arts in Czech republik

The bachelor thesis "Marketing and promotion of the National Gallery in Prague in 2010-2011" discusses communication options of the most famous fine art institution in the Czech Republic. The introduction explains the function of an art museum as a medium and describes particular modes of transmission of information between an artwork, exposition and audience. It briefly portrays the function of the National Gallery today and in the past, as well as the services offered. The main part of the thesis focuses on specific characteristics of marketing of museums and galleries and these are accompanied by particular examples from the practice of the National Gallery and by statistical data. The bachelor thesis defines the product of this institution, ways in which it is offered to the public and especially means of promotion.
Art-critique work of Jiri Setlik and Czech art critique of the 1960s

The "Art-critique work of Jiri Setlik and Czech art critique of the 1960s" text describes the approach, sources and method of Jiri Setlik, important Czech theoretician and historician of art and art critic. The text follows his work in three different periods of the Czech afterwar art and art theory (1950s and 60s, the normalization period of 1970s and 80s and after the 1989). The structure of the first part of the text follows these periods, that represent different enviroment, possibilities and inspirations, mentioning the important cultural and art scene events, practical background of exhibiting, art writting, journalism or pUblishing and other circumstances that influenced the approach, style and work of Jiri Setlik and his colleagues. For each period, several art-critical texts of Jiri Setlik are selected, that are representative of his style development and also situation given by the culture and politics of that time. The second part of the text defines the art-critique method of Jiri Setlik in context of the contemporary art-critique theory and practice of 1960s, which is considered the most influential until today. TV-Charity in the Czech republic

This thesis is a case study, which is focused on relationships and forms of cooperation between non-profit organizations doing charity, and Czech Television. The main methods of data gathering in this work are semi-structured interviews with selected stakeholders. One respondent from the Czech TV and five representatives of different NGOs participated in the research. According to the theory of agenda-setting and the concept of gate keeping the aim of this study is to find out how NGOs get on the TV screen. Part of this thesis is devoted to the specification of various form of cooperation between Czech television and different non-profit organizations. Also there is an an assessment of the current situation from the perspective of both sides. In the final summary there are the crucial findings and discussion devoted to problematic issues in the cooperation of Czech Television and nonprofit organizations.

Thesis Lifestyle in magazine Květy (1960 - 1968) deals with the lifestyle in the years 1960 - 1968 in Czechoslovakia from the viewpoint magazíne Květy. The work examines how the magazine, presented lifestyle in the reference period and how they influenced the ideas of readers' lifestyles. Due to the great range of lifestyle related work has focused solely on housing, leisure and fashion. In the field of housing, work has concentrated on available housing, household furniture, decorations and articles of daily use. In the fashion most attention was focused on the clothing, hairstyles then in fashion and beauty treatments. Leisure time has been reduced to activities designed for relaxation, entertainment and distraction, prevailed in the area of recreation, sports activities and activities of various interest groups. Lifestyle in the analysis of the text was analyzed using a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods of content analysis. The diploma thesis entitled "Media Image of Czech fine arts in Události v kultuře on ČT Art" covers the theme of Czech fine arts and its media image within the cultural and news program Události v kultuře on ČT Art. The aim of the work is to map the media image of Czech fine arts in such cultural-news program, which is produced on a daily basis by Czech public television. For such an analysis, the method of combined quantitative and qualitative content analysis is used, which examines individual reports from a given programme throughout the year 2019. The thesis wants to answer in what form, how and in what frequency was Czech fine arts represented in Události v kultuře in 2019. The aim is to answer which artists were represented in the programme the most, which institutions or topics had the greatest representation in the news program and what are the properties of a news topic to be able to get into the cultural-news program on national public television at all. Fact-checking post hoc in media content

This diploma thesis deals with the post hoc fact-checking of media content (fact-checking after the text has been published). It focuses primarily on user's fact-checking and on fact- checking organizations. Both types of fact-checking process share some similar characteristics and differ in other aspects. Although often they complement each other. To achieve more complex perspective, I decided to extend the theoretical part and use not only the fact- checking theory, the definition and typology of disinformation content, but also selected media theories and description of fact-checking organizations. In analytical part, I decided to focus on analysis of both sides of post hoc fact-checking - habits and attitudes of average users towards media and fact-checking organisations and also outputs of fact-checking organizations (fact-checking articles). The main goal was to develop a methodology, which could effectively interlink both sections of the field and to generate conclusions, which could have a positive impact on future trends of the post hoc fact-checking.

The bachelor thesis "Media reflexion czech contemporary architecture in czech periodical" deals with research media representation contemporary czech architecture in daily newspapers Pravo, Lidove noviny and periodical Reflex in the period from 1st January to 31st December 2012 and 2016. The theoretical part of this thesis explains media concepts, describes concept of representation and stereotype represantion. Next part of this thesis deals with subject of contemporary architecture, focus on status of architecture in society and also on the relationship of architecture and media. Evaluation of possibilities of using Czech crafts in tourism supply

The aim of the thesis is to characterize the ways of using Czech crafts in the tourism supply and their current state of involvement in the offer. The thesis also aims to evaluate the importance of craft markets focusing on Český Krumlov, representing one of the ways in which crafts are involved in the supply. The theoretical part describes the integration of Czech crafts into tourism and divides individual folk crafts by material. The practical part deals with ways of using Czech crafts in the tourism supply and outlining measures leading to the improvement of their current state. Furthermore, in the practical part there are interviews with craftsmen leading to the evaluation of the importance of historical markets and the interest of tourists in individual folk crafts.
Comparison of Czech leading auction houses media communication and publicity with world auction houses Christie's and Sotheby's media communication and publicity in years 2010-2016

This Diploma thesis deals with a media communication through new technologies, specifically then specific social networks such as Facebook and Instagram, in the field of art auctions market. Major focus is given especially to the 1. Art Consulting, Dorotheum and European Arts Auction houses. The international auction houses are represented by two art auctions market world leaders, Christie's and Sotheby's. The Thesis first summarizes the art market and it's characteristics, marketing and media communication of the Czech auction houses, both Czech and international auction market and a history of the auction houses examined in this Diploma thesis. The methodology used is a quantitative content analysis. The analysis primarily focuses on the number of social networks used by the auction houses for a communication with fans and other public, on the hit rate of this communication. The largest part of the research is given to the nature of individual media messages. In selected cases, the length, hit rate, origin, focus, topic etc. is examined. The analysis covers the period between the fall 2016 and spring 2017. The results of the quantitative analysis are described and as a conclusion a comparison is made between the Czech and foreign auction houses in the area of communication through social networks.
Media coverage of management of The National Gallery in Prague, 2010-2013

This thesis examines the media coverage and image of the National Gallery in Prague from 2010 till 2013. During this period, in 2011 Milan Knížák was removed from the post of Director of the National Gallery where he was since 1999. He was replaced by Vladimír Rösel, who was dismissed in 2013, Vít Vlnas was designated the director of the gallery in his stead. Jiří Fajt was selected as the Chief Director in July 2013, but he wasn't appointed until July 2014. The main source for research will be relevant articles published in the selected press (Lidové noviny, Právo, Mladá fronta DNES, Hospodářské noviny). The aim of the thesis is to describe and analyze the way the media reported about events related to the management of the National Gallery in Prague. It will try to answer the question why this institution is given such weight and importance as to whether it is related to the concept of "national" in the name of the gallery. This can evoke the connection with other institutions that have this word in the name. There are some expectations connected to this "national" title, but there are also certain responsibilities associated with that.
