Bazalová, Tereza ; Tomová, Šárka (advisor) ; Raudenská, Jaroslava (referee)
Background: This bachelor thesis deals with the assessment of quality of life in children with epilepsy aged 11-18 years using a standardized questionnaire (QOLIE-AD-48). Objectives: The aim of the research was to map the quality of life in children with epilepsy aged 11-18 years using the QOLIE-AD-48 questionnaire. The child's quality of life was examined in eight domains of life. We were interested in the impact of epilepsy on the child. How patients perceive their overall health. How the child's memory is affected, how they concentrate, their physical functioning and behaviour at school. The social support of the environment was observed, but also the stigma of being epileptic. Methods: A standardized questionnaire QOLIE-48-AD was used for the research. The age of all respondents ranged from 11 to 18 years. The children had a confirmed diagnosis of epilepsy and all had experienced more than one seizure. The questionnaires were scored according to a standardized scoring manual. Internal consistency as well as Cronbach's alpha coefficient were used for statistical processing. Results: In the domain of behaviour at school, Czech children achieved a high score of 94.05. Czech children feel high social support from their environment, although their negative opinion of the epilepsy were not affected....

Maršíková, Veronika ; Raudenská, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Nikodemová, Hana (referee)
Background: This bachelor thesis focuses on the topic of chronic pain in connection with long-term treatment with opioid analgesics and the associated risk of developing addiction and the possibility of screening this risk using the Opioid Risk Tool (ORT) in nursing. Objectives: The aim of the cross-sectional, quantitative study was to validate the ORT questionnaire in the Czech version, to evaluate its individual items by performing a factor analysis and assessing the impact of socio-demographic and clinical variables. Methods: A total of 411 patients on long-term treatment with opioid analgesics met inclusive and exclusive criteria and were included in the study. The patients were administered with an anamnestic questionnaire and the ORT, ET (Emotional Thermometers), COMM (Current Opioid Misuse Measure) and VAS (Visual Analogue Scale) questionnaires. The data were statistically processed using the determination of internal consistency, sensitivity, specificity, negative and positive predictive values, parametric and non-parametric tests, exploratory factor analysis and logistic regression. Results: A medium correlation was found between the ET and ORT questionnaires. Significant differences in selected socio-demographic and clinical variables between the opioid misuse group and the group without...

Cognitive Mechanisms Associated with Proneness to Halutinations
Say, Nicolas ; Lukavský, Jiří (advisor) ; Raudenská, Jaroslava (referee)
Hallucinations are often seen as a serious symptom of mental illness. Nonetheless, recent decades have produced a body of evidence that documented the presence of hallucinations even in non-clinical samples. Therefore, focusing on these samples is critical for improving understanding of processes underlying auditory hallucinations. The present study examines cognitive mechanisms that have been proposed to influence proneness to auditory hallucinations. A battery of experimental measures is implemented to assess some of the mechanisms implicated in the aetiology of hallucinations. Source monitoring, cognitive inhibition, bottom-up processes, working memory and traumatic experiences were measured in a laboratory study of 52 participants. Findings suggest that proneness to hallucinations is associated with impaired top-down processing and early traumatic experiences. No association between other cognitive mechanisms and hallucination proneness, contrary to previous evidence, has been found. This indicates that impaired source memory, working memory and bottom-up processing impairments might distinguish clinical and non-clinical hallucinators. An alternative implication of these findings points at issues with reproducibility in the hallucination research. Keywords: Auditory verbal hallucinations,...

Life Satisfaction And Pain
Waldmannová, Alice ; Raudenská, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Jirkovský, Daniel (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the influence of pain on life satisfaction. It is divided into two parts - part theoretical and part empirical. In the first part I define basic concepts such as pain, painful behavior, anxiety, fear, life satisfaction, concept of life satisfaction, happiness. What are the differences in approach and quality of life in patients with chronic long-term illness, compared to volunteers without pain. I tried to describe the differences between anxiety and fear that are often confused with each other. At the end of the theoretical part are described methods of evaluation of fear of pain. In the empirical part is a quantitative research, which focuses on the detection of the intensity of the pain of fear in patients with chronic pain depending on gender, age and their current pain. Differences in the use of strategies to deal with fears between men and women are also being explored. Three questionnaire methods were selected - the Life Satisfaction Questionnaire (DOS), the Fear of Pain Questionnaire (FPQ-III) in the Czech version, The State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI). To measure pain intensity, the VAS numerical scale was used. Questionnaire survey was attended by respondents of Motol University hospital and healthy controls.
The role of the nurse in screening risks of long term opioid use in chronic nonmalignant pain patients
Nováková, Daniela ; Raudenská, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Tomová, Šárka (referee)
Backgroud: The subject of this thesis is screening risks of aberrant behavior and addiction in patients with chronic non-malignant pain who are on long-term opioid therapy. Objectives: The aim is to introduce the Czech Adaptation of the Screener and Opioid Assessment for Patients with Pain-Revised (SOAPP-R) and the Opioid Risk Tool (ORT) and to validate the two questionnaires. To identify the difference between patients in high and low risk of aberrant behavior with respect to socio-demographic, clinical and affective variables regarding SOAPP-R and ORT. To evaluate the clinical utility of the visual analog scale Emotional Thermometers at predicting high and low risk of aberrant behavior regarding SOAPP-R and ORT. Methods: This multicenter study was conducted through an anonymous survey using standardized self-reporting questionnaires, SOAPP-R and ORT. The research sample consisted of 305 patients, recruited from pain clinics, suffering chronic non-malignant pain. Patients had been in treatment for at least three monthes on stable doses of opioid analgesics. Results: As a result of the data analysis, the SOAPP-R identified 40.66 % of patients from the sample as high risk and the ORT 18.36 %. Cut off scores of the Emotional Thermometers that have been identified using the reciever operating...
