This thesis deals with the role of volunteering in social services for the elderly in non-profit organizations. The aim of the work is to find out what benefits volunteers can provide for clients. I have focused on non-profit organizations for which volunteering is typical. I acquired data through in-depth interviews with clients and volunteers selected non-profit organization providing residential care for the elderly. Through this research I have offered a look at the benefits of volunteering through the requirements of current social services. Volunteers have been found to contribute to a higher quality of service. Key words: social service, volunteering, non-profit organizations, third sector, elderly, residential care
Prospects of Youngle People on the Labour Market
Komínková, Eva ; Nývlt, Ondřej (advisor) ; Průša, Ladislav (referee)
Family and reproductive behaviour shapes the outline of Czech Republic. Regime changes after 1989 certainly influenced the whole society. Critical changes in demographic behaviour need to be viewed in context of economic, social and cumtural changes in society. The purpose of this thesis is to explore perspectives of young adults, with an emphasis on exploring links between demographic behavious and on job market between 1989 and 2015. Thus this thesis should provide an answer to a question on how signifikance of influence of e.g. parenthood on career paths of youg people. To achieve this target, we used mainly publicly available data provided by Czech Statistical Bureau, interchangeably with data from Eurostat and basic statistical analysis.
The Transport Services Analysis of the City Kaplice
Švédová, Vlasta ; Mervart, Michal (advisor) ; Průša, Ladislav (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the current public transport accessibility of the city Kaplice and suggest improvements for further functioning. The first theoretical part explains the used transport and demographic terms and methods as well as the characteristics of the city itself. The second analytical part analyzes the city public transport situation and related demographic variables. The emphasis is on the evaluation of the current situation in all modes of transport and the combination of demographic and transport characteristics in favor of creating an overal framework. For this reason the SWOT analysis was carried out. At the end of the thesis the population projection is used to estimate future developments in this area and outline possible solutions and recommendations for optimal and efficient public transport in the town.
Consequences of ageing population for the needs of social care services
Šebík, Antonín ; Průša, Ladislav (advisor) ; Krebs, Vojtěch (referee)
This thesis is focused on problems of consequences of ageing population and the needs of social care services in terms of bed capacity in retirements homes and nursing homes. The aim of the thesis is to set a projection of bed capacity in these facilities at the level of individual regions and the whole Czech Republic by 2051. The dissertation presents three methods of calculating the future bed capacity which shows that the bed capacity will need to be significantly increased in future. The results found show that there are regional differences in the demographic structure within the Czech Republic at regional level which leads to a different intensity of demand for bed capacity.
Consequences of an aging population for the need for social care services for seniors
Rychterová, Daniela ; Průša, Ladislav (advisor) ; Bareš, Pavel (referee)
The thesis deals with the problem of aging of the population in the lower territorial unit in the municipality with extended competence in Příbram. The current situation of the population is dealt with, but the future population status is projected from 2015 to 2030. For their analysis are used demographic and economic indicators, results of own projection as well as a description of social care services provided in this area. The aging of the population is related to several key themes, mainly with the provision of adequate care for the elderly, and in the work it is also addressed in terms of financing services and the increasing burden of the economically active population. The demographic data on the local population is compared with the situation in the Czech Republic. The benefit of the work is primarily to determine the need for social care services for the elderly in the future, to identify possible shortcomings in their provision, capacity, quality and financing. The aim of the thesis is also to find possible solutions that are most effective and help to ensure safe and peaceful aging for all seniors in SO ORP Příbram. The result of the work is to map the current situation and to create a future estimation that will provide the necessary documents for better planning of social services for the elderly.
The Principles of Funding of the Public and Voluntary Formalised Solidarity in the Social Care Services in the Czech Republic
Vojtíšek, Petr ; Tomeš, Igor (advisor) ; Průša, Ladislav (referee) ; Haškovcová, Helena (referee)
Title: The Principles of Funding of the Public and Voluntary Formalised Solidarity in the Social Care Services in the Czech Republic Abstract: The social care services are a specific system within the social protection system. Opposed to the public benefit systems they allow the coexistence of public and voluntary solidarity. There are many welfare state models and systems of cooperation of the public and NGOs in Europe. These models offer differently formed relationships of their entities. This thesis raises the question of finding a more convenient organisation of the whole system of the social care services in the Czech Republic where the problem is currently being discussed The objective of the thesis is to find possibilities of public and voluntary solidarity in the social care services settings and to suggest ways for their cooperation. The research is mainly based on qualitative methods. Firstly, the causal links of statistical nature from the fields of demography, social relations and economics are introduced. In the next step a combination of methods of in depth interviews and expert discussions is used. They focus on public solidarity and regulation in the system. The last research step brings 3 case studies with examples of the best practice in financing of NGOs in the social care services...
Trace determination of tin by HG-AAS with in-atomizer trapping: method optimization and analytical applications
Průša, Libor ; Hraníček, Jakub (advisor) ; Spěváčková, Věra (referee)
A quartz multiatomizer with its inlet arm modified to serve as a trap (trap and atomizer device) was employed to trap the tin hydride and subsequently to volatilize collected analyte species with atomic absorption spectrometric detection. Generation, atomization and preconcetration conditions were optimized and analytical figures of merit of both on-line atomization as well as preconcentration modes were quantified. Preconcentration efficiency of 95 ± 5 % was found. The detection limits reached were 29 and 143 pg ml-1 Sn, respectively, for 120 second preconcentration period and on-line atomization mode without any preconcentration. The interference extent of other hydride forming elements (As, Se, Sb and Bi) on tin determination was found negligible in both modes of operation. The applicability of the developed preconcentration method was verified by Sn determination in a certified reference material as well as by analysis of real samples. Key words HG-AAS, multiatomizer (multiple microflame quartz tube atomizer), trap and atomizer device, tin determination, stannane, in atomizer trapping, interference study
Possibilities of electrochemical generation of volatile compound of gold
Průša, Libor ; Hraníček, Jakub (advisor) ; Musil, Stanislav (referee)
The possibilities of electrochemical generation of gold volatile compound have been studied in this work. All experiments have been employed in electrochemical continuous flow generation. The previous aim of this work was to investigate if it is possible to generate the volatile form of gold using electrochemical generation of volatile compounds. Lead, platinum and alloy of lead and tin were used as cathode materials. Consequently, optimizations of experimental conditions were carried out. The optimized experimental conditions were: carrier gas flow rate, flow rate of electrolytes, electric current used for electrochemical generation, influence of the different types of gas-liquid separator, atomizer temperature. The calibration and other characteristics were found. At the conclusion, effect of oxygen on the signal intensity was studied. Key words Electrochemical generation of volatile compound atomic absorption spectrometry quartz tube atomizer flow-through electrolytic cell volatile compound gold
