PharmDr. Josef Malý, Ph.D. Consultant: PharmDr. Petr Domecký Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University Introduction and aims: Periprosthetic joint infections are considered as the biggest complication of the implementation of the total arthroplasty which may be reduced by the observation of inflammatory and nutritional markers. The aim of this thesis is to analyse the possibilities of influencing the antibiotic prophylaxis (AP) on the basis of those markers observed on patients that underwent the total hip arthroplasty (THA) and the total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Methods: Data was collected from a prospective study which began in March 2020 at the Department of Orthopedics at the University Hospital Hradec Králové. There were 118 patients from May 2021 to June 2022 older than 18 years with THA and TKA included in the analysis. The analysed data were sourced from the paper and electronic forms of medical documentary materials of those patients. Patients'personal and medical details (including the information about the operation, the thromboprophylaxis (TP), AP, and the results of physical and...

6 Abstract Analysis of patient adherence to treatment by DOAC II Author: Natália Janáčková Tutor: doc. PharmDr. Josef Malý, Ph.D. Consultant: PharmDr. Simona Dvořáčková, Ph.D., Mgr. Eliška Mašková Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University Introduction and aim: Dosing interval may be an important factor influencing adherence to direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) therapy. In terms of adherence, a once-daily regimen appears to be a better alternative. However, there may be a higher risk of treatment failure if the dose is missed. The aim of the practical part of the thesis was to analyse patients' attitudes and experiences with DOACs, complemented by data from medical records, with a focus on aspects related to DOAC dosing. Methods: Data collection for this prospective study was carried out from 2020 to 2022 at the Internal Cardiology Outpatient Clinic of the University Hospital in Brno. Patients aged ≥ 18 years on DOAC treatment with indicated atrial fibrillation (FS) were approached to participate in the study. Each patient underwent a structured interview with a trained pharmacist on the day of study entry and again after 3 and 6 months. Two validated and three supplementary questionnaires were used in the interview. Patients' attitudes, experiences...

Analysis of drug utilization of antibiotics for systematic administration in the Czech Republic in 2005-2019 Author: Lenka Suchopárová Tutor: doc. PharmDr. Josef Malý, Ph.D. Consultant: Mgr. Petr Domecký Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles university Introduction and aims: Antibiotics (ATB) are substances with a bacteriostatic or bactericidal effect. Treatment with ATB carries a risk of side effects, drug interactions and risk of resistance occurence. The reason for monitoring the consumption of ATB is not only the apparent coherence between their consumption and the increase of resistance, but also the economic side of bacterial infections treatment. The aim of this study was to analyze the consumption of ATB for systematic administration in the Czech Republic (CR) in 2005-2019. Methods: The analysis of the consumption of ATB was performed as a retrospective analysis of data from the database of the State Institute of Drug Control in the period from 1. 1. 2005 to 31. 12. 2019. Anatomical-therapeutic-chemical classification based on defined daily doses (DDD) of individual drugs was used for the analysis. The consumption of ATB was calculated as DDD per thousand inhabitants per day (TID). The data on the number of residents was acquired from the...
