Alien fish species in the Odra basin on Moravien and Silesian
Lojkásek, B. ; Lusk, Stanislav ; Papoušek, Ivo
In the territory of Moravian and Silesian, the upper part of basin of the River Odra is found, where the riverine net is formed by smaller streams. The original ichthyofauna species structure is therefore, relative poor, representing 2 lamprey and 33 fish species, from which at present, 1 lamprey and 3 fish species are considered to be extinct. During the 19th and 20th centuries within human activities, 8 alien exotic species were introduced and 5 non-native species for this area were dislocated. All introduced and dislocated species are subject to fishery management. Regards to the fact that the species Carassius carassius and Pseudorasbora parva reproduce naturally, their relationships and influence are negative to the native species, they are assessed as invasive alien species.
The Red List of lampreys and fishes in the Czech Republic - Version 2005
Lusk, Stanislav ; Hanel, L. ; Lusková, Věra ; Lojkásek, B. ; Hartvich, P.
The new Red List was compiled on the basis of data obtained in the course of five past years. Besides the overall evaluation for the Czech Republic, the data were separately evaluated for the North Sea, Baltic Sea, and Black Sea basins. The status and degree of danger imminent to the populations of the particular species were evaluated also separately for each of the 16 water regions. Compared to the 2000 evaluation, classification was changed for following species: Salmo salar (previously EW, now CE), Acipenser ruthenus (NE / CE), Sabanejewia balcanica (EX / CE), Zingel streber (EX / CE), Chondrostoma nasus (EN / VU), Lota lota (VU / NT), Rhodeus amarus (NT / EN), Leucaspius delineatus (NT / EN), Alburnoides bipunctatus (VU / EN), and Carassius carassius (VU / EN). The degree of jeopardy for Alburnoides bipunctatus, Vimba vimba, Rhodeus amarus, Carassius carassius, Misgurnus fossilis is basically different in different water regions, varying between Extinct and Near Threatened.
Problems posed by the protection of lamprey and fish localities of European importance in the drainage areas of the Dyje, Morava, and Odra rivers
Lusk, Stanislav ; Lusková, Věra ; Lojkásek, B. ; Halačka, Karel
In consequence of the accepted legislation concerning the protection of lamprey and fish species of European importance, potential sites of community interest (pSCI) have been selected for such species. At present, the national list of the proposed pSCI is being examined by the European Commission. If approved upon, the pSCI will be proclaimed "special areas of conservation" within the NATURA 2000 system. Although such pSCI and their populations are protected by legislation, there occur risks that endanger, both directly and indirectly, the quality of the pSCI and the population of the particular species. The examples mentioned in the paper indicate that such risks include local emergency pollution, construction of weirs and small hydraulic power plants, extraction of sediments from streambeds, cruising vessels, and stream modification. Such risks are due to the inconsequence and reluctance in observing the legal protection measures by concrete authorities of nature conservation.
Fish species diversity in the floodplain of the middle part within the Poodří Protected Landscape Area
Lojkásek, B. ; Lusk, Stanislav ; Halačka, Karel ; Lusková, Věra
The ichthyofauna of the Ondřejnice, Lubina and Bílovka rivers within the Poodří Protected Landscape Area is dominated by the species Barbus barbus and related species. The local communities are very rich in terms of biodiversity and quantity. On the other hand, the communities of lakes and abandoned lateral river arms in the Odra river alluvium are very poor regards quality and quantity.
Genus Gobio in fish communities of waters in the Czech Republic
Lusk, Stanislav ; Lusková, Věra ; Halačka, Karel ; Lojkásek, B. ; Horák, Václav
Waters of the Czech Republic are inhabited by three species of genus Gobio. The species Gobio is wide-spread. The distribution area of Gobio albipinnatus covers the Morava and Dyje drainage basins, where, in sites with sympatric G. gobio occurrence, is species arise. The species Gobio kessleri is limited only to the River Bečva (tributary of the River Morava), namely to its lower and middle reaches upstream to r.km 40.
The actual state and occurrence of sculpin (Cottus) in some streams of Frýdek-Místek dictrict
Lojkásek, B. ; Lusk, Stanislav
Ichthyological research focused on the frequency of common sculpin and Carpathian sculpin was performed in 28 rivers in the Beskydy region of the Oder river catchment area.
Changes in the species composition of the ichthyofauna in the territory of the Czech Republic after 1990
Lusk, Stanislav ; Lusková, Věra ; Halačka, Karel ; Lojkásek, B.
In the course of the past decade (after 1990), marked changes have been recorded in the species composition of the ichthyofauna inhabiting the territory of the Czech Republic. The absolute majority of these changes pertains to the drainage areas of th
Fishes in streams of the Beskydy Protected landscape region
Lusk, Stanislav ; Lusková, Věra ; Halačka, Karel ; Lojkásek, B.
The river network of the Beskydy PLR (1,620 km2 ) belongs to the hydrological systems of Baltic and Black seas. It mainly consists of minor streams of the orders I and II. The basic components of their fish stock include Salmo trutta m. fario and Cottus poecilopus. In lower part of bigger streams are also additional species (Thymallus thymallus, Leuciscus cephalus, Alburnoides bipunctatus, Gobio gobio, Cottus gobio, etc.).
