Abstract: Waters of the Czech Republic are inhabited by three species of genus Gobio. The species Gobio is wide-spread. The distribution area of Gobio albipinnatus covers the Morava and Dyje drainage basins, where, in sites with sympatric G. gobio occurrence, is species arise. The species Gobio kessleri is limited only to the River Bečva (tributary of the River Morava), namely to its lower and middle reaches upstream to r.km 40.
