Specifics of work motivation and work preferences in so-called generations X and Y

In recent days, the Generation X (born between 1964 - 1982) and Generation Y (born between 1983 and 1999) have become a timely topic. They are beginning to interact with the workplace and the generational differences in work values are being discussed, especially in relation to Generation Y. Generation Y is most commonly defined as the generation that grew up in the era of Internet and the advent of modern technology. Generation X is the one that is learning to live with modern technology. Many studies have shown contradictory results regarding the motivations and work preferences of these generations. For this reason, the aim of this work was to map the work preferences for each of the generations using a sample of the Czech population. For the purposes of this generational study, a questionnaire was created and two pilot studies were conducted. The final version of the questionnaire was completed by 247 respondents, of which 76 were representatives of Generation X and 171 were representatives of Generation Y. The questionnaire study investigated the differences in motivations and job preferences of each generation using ten scales. Psychological aspects of radicalisation

The goal of this thesis is a deeper exploration of the phenomenon of violent radicalization and its causes in the prison population in the Czech environment. The theoretical part summarizes current knowledge about the possible causes of radicalization and current issues concerning radicalization around the world and in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the specifics of prison radicalization and possible ways of deradicalization, including examples of good practice, are outlined. The empirical part attempts to map the characteristics of individuals in potential risk of radicalization in the environment of Czech prisons. The examined sample of 67 people is composed only of men and their average age is 34 years. Nearly half of the cases involves right-wing radicalization, in one third of cases individual non-specific radicalization is identified, and Islamic and left-wing radicalization is represented in low percentage of cases. In the sample, we can observe a high rate of unemployment, previous criminality, low level of education, childhood behavioral problems, under-average intellect, increased aggression, or impulsivity. Selected aspects of domestic violence described in court files and psychological expert opinions

The diploma thesis titled "Selected aspects of domestic violence described in court files and psychological expert opinions" deals with forensic - psychological issues. The theoretical part defines domestic violence, its forms and types. There is also space for individual aspects of domestic violence, including treatises on victims and perpetrators of domestic violence, related myths and consequences. This chapter also covers the issue of how to help. A separate part deals with the court file, its content and composition. The expert opinion, its assignment and content is then devoted to the conclusion of the theoretical part. The empirical part, focused on the examination of selected aspects of domestic violence, was based on an analysis of court files containing the psychological expert opinion in cases of abuse under §198 and §199 of the Criminal code. Criminal Activities of Police Officers

This bachelor thesis concerns on dangerous and socially highly demanding behavior, which is the crime committed by police officers. The text is focused on the conditions of such behavior, possible ways of committing and its causes. It also gives an attention to statistical data reflecting the quantity and dynamics of crimes committed by police officers in the Czech Republic, as well as information about the prevention and repression of such acts are also provided. The thesis is focused in more detail on issue of corruption and brutality commited by policemen. One of the chapters also summarizes the information about the demands placed on police officers in employment and negative factors that affect them in connection with policing. Some surveys of police officers satisfaction in employment and public opinion on this issue are also presented. The part of this thesis is the suggestion of research. Psychological aspects of stress in police work from the perspective of police psychologists

The thesis deals with the psychological aspects of stress in police work from the perspective of police psychologists. Firstly, key terms and psychological aspects of police work are described in the theoretical part. Subsequently, a chapter of individual aspects of stress in police work is introduced. The aspects are divided into four separate groups - organizational stress, stress and lifestyle, stress and family life and borderline situations in police work. The following chapter deals with psychological care for police officers. The research part of this work brings findings obtained qualitatively in in-depth interviews. A wide range of themes arose - exceeding bureaucracy and control, incessant need to keep up with the police role, limited career growth and the absence of meaning leading to burn-out. In the context of family life, themes of alienation, infidelity or other common family problems were registered. Alcohol abuse as an escape strategy was mentioned. Borderline and traumatizing events are marginal matter according to participants. A range of relevant themes arose - encounter with death, children victims, car accidents and suicide among police officers.
Opportunities of therapeutic and psychosocial interventions with juvenile criminal offenders during serving their sentence in prison facility

Bachelor thesis focuses on mapping intervention programs designed for juvenile criminal offenders while serving their sentence in prison. The first part of the thesis, the literary review, aims to describe various psychosocial contexts of the adolescent development period focusing mainly on risk factors associated with family and peer group. We also deal with risk behaviors in adolescence, such as manifestations of aggression and delinquent or criminal behavior. Furthermore, we present selected intervention and therapeutic programs that emphasize social interaction, dealing with impulsive and aggressive manifestations, and also responsibility for their actions and the criminal offence. Moreover, risk factors which might be successfully targeted by appropriate interventions are outlined in this part of the thesis. Subsequently, a research project theoretically related to the literary review is proposed. The proposed research project focuses on behavioral change and the development of social skills of juvenile criminal offenders as a result of an intervention program aimed at this particular group.
Hate Crimes: Focused on Perpetrators and Victims of These Acts

This bachelor thesis concentrates on the phenomenon called hate crimes. At first, the attention is given to the definition of this concept. The thesis also explains another terms connected with hate crimes and comes with possible translation of this term to Czech. Furthermore, it mentions forms of hate crimes and some of the real cases in brief. It also describes types of hate crimes. One of the chapters discusses the perpetrator, his motives, typology of the offender and hate crimes committed by groups. As the thesis wants to capture the complete dynamics of the phenomenon, it also concentrates on the victims of hate crimes at the end of the theoretical part. The proposition of research is connected with the perpetrators sentenced for committing hate- or bias- motivated bodily harm or grievous bodily harm in the Czech Republic. The first aim of the research is to compare these perpetrators' social skills to social skills of normal population and to social skills of perpetrators of other than hate- or bias-motivated bodily harm or grievous bodily harm. Geographical profiling

This bachelor thesis concerns on geographical profiling, whereas it emphasizes the crime of break-in in the context of this profiling. In the first part, the thesis defines the term geographical profiling. It also gives an attention to history of it and concentrates on the basic theories used in profiling. The thesis also describes the theory of rational choice, the routine activity theory, the broken windows theory and the theory of crime patterns. In the next part, there is a concentration on the mapping process itself. The anchor points, the situational precipitators of crime, the hot spots and the models of crime are described. a whole chapter is dedicated to the hunting typology of perpetrators. The thesis also shows different possibilities of prevention with using the geographical profiling. One of the chapters summarizes the information about break-in. The part of the thesis is also the suggestion of research. The aim of this project out mainly situational factors of break-in. It also compare the radius of the perpetrator. Psychological aspects of credibility of testimony

The bachelor's thesis is about credibility of witness testimony and possibilities of its assessment. Testimony is being created in four phases. It is perception and memorizing, retention, delivery of information and processing information by the interrogator. The final form of testimony is affected by interrogation strategy. Depending on how the interview is conducted, the investigator obtains testimony with more details. In addition, the strategy of interrogation has impact on witness cooperation. Recognition of truths and lies is possible with special clues. There is listed a lot of studies related to the police interrogators' abilities as way as the lay public to detect deception. Verbal methods are used to assess the veracity of testimony. The thesis analyzes three of them, specifically it is SVA, SCAN and RM. The empirical part concentrates on two of these methods, CBCA (it is part of the SVA) and RM. The experiment is aimed at comparison of the probability to distinguish credible and uncredible testimony. It compares these two methods and subjective impression.
