Selected Characteristics of Adolescent Female-to-Male Gender-affirming Medical Care Applicants
Schönauerová, Dominika ; Weiss, Petr (advisor) ; Kolečková, Tereza (referee)
The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to analyze selected anamnestic characteristics of adolescent FtM (female-to-male) applicants seeking gender-affirming medical procedure, in order to provide a clearer understanding of this population within the Czech Republic. This purpose was served by data from patients of the Institute of Sexology, General University Hospital in Prague (N = 78), collected in 2022-2023, who were referred to care at the age of at least 15 and less than 19 years (M = 16.3, SD = 1.00). Within the sample late-onset gender incongruence with the first self-recognition at the mean age of 13,2 years (SD 1,98), was typical, as well as complete social transition at the time of first assessment, initiated at a mean age of 15,1 years (SD 1,29). Minority sexual orientation and the desire for complete gender reassignment surgery were also characteristic. Almost half of the FtMs had experienced a romantic relationship, but only one third were sexually active. Half of the patients had a history of psychiatric pharmacotherapy and more than one-fifth of psychiatric hospitalization. A number of psychiatric comorbidities were present. The most common comorbidity was the mixed anxiety-depressive disorder present in one-third of the FtMs. More than half had a history of self-harm, suicidal...
Male attractiveness from the perspective of young women
Urbanová, Květoslava ; Weiss, Petr (advisor) ; Fořt, Jakub (referee)
This bachelor thesis examines male attractiveness from the perspective of young women. The aim of the thesis is to describe and map existing knowledge regarding the characteristics perceived as attractive by young heterosexual women in men. The first chapter focuses on the characterization of young adulthood, psychological aspects of this period, and interpersonal relationships. This is followed by a chapter defining the concept of attractiveness and presenting various theories attempting to explain why people are mutually attracted to each other. The third chapter addresses partner selection from the perspective of evolutionary psychology, while the final chapter examines specific characteristics that young women consider attractive in men. The research proposal in the empirical section aims to map out which characteristics women aged 20-30 consider important in evaluating attractiveness in men in short-term and long-term relationships and whether these characteristics change based on the type of relationship sought by the woman. The results of the research could provide a comprehensive view of partner preferences and demonstrate how preferences of young women may differ depending on the type of relationship. Finally, the implications of the findings for understanding romantic relationships are...
Latency for the first occurrence of delinquent behavior in patients in protective sexological treatment, depending on the diagnosis and the level of risk
Kuncová, Tereza ; Klapilová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Weiss, Petr (referee)
This thesis deals with the topic of the latency period from the realization of paraphilic preference to the appearance of the first delinquent behavior. The main goal of the thesis is the qualitative exploration of possible triggers and barriers shaping the latency period in persons with paraphilia in protective sexological treatment. The theoretical part of the thesis introduces the issue of paraphilias, presents selected diagnoses associated with an increased risk of committing a sexual offense, and discusses also the prevalence of paraphilias in the Czech and foreign populations. In addition, the work does not neglect the risk assessment for predicting the recidivism among sexual offenders. The empirical part contains qualitative research carried out through a semi-structured interview with nine patients in protective sexuological treatment or security detention. Internal and external triggers and internal and external barriers of delinquent behavior were identified using the method of thematic analysis. The group of external triggers, according to patients' statements, included: a victim in a sexual context, the absence of a relationship, work load, a dysfunctional family background and the influence of addictive substances. Internal triggers included: failing in interpersonal relationships,...
Preparation and characterization of optical metasurfaces
Weiss, Vlastimil ; Čižmár, Tomáš (referee) ; Dvořák, Petr (advisor)
This thesis presents a comprehensive study on the preparation and characterization of dielectric optical metasurfaces. Optical metasurfaces, which are artificially structured surfaces, enable precise manipulation of electromagnetic waves at a subwavelength scale, surpassing conventional optics in terms of spatial resolution and the complexity of optical transformations. The work is conducted at the Institute of Physical Engineering, Brno University of Technology in colaboration with CEITEC, and involves the use of advanced techniques such as ion beam etching through masks created via electron beam lithography (EBL) and the deposition of optically active materials into EBL matrices. The primary objectives include a thorough literature review, the fabrication of dielectric metasurfaces based on phase control mechanisms, and the detailed morphological and optical characterization of the produced structures. The research employs digital holographic microscopy and confocal optical spectroscopy for optical characterization, as well as numerical and semi-analytical simulations. The results contribute to the ongoing development of high-efficiency optical components and highlight the potential applications of biophotonic devices in the field of nano-optics.

Analysis of Business Process Diagrams
Ludvík, Martin ; Květoňová, Šárka (referee) ; Weiss, Petr (advisor)
The aim of Analysis of Business Process Diagrams is to create procedure that is able to find typical patterns in business process diagrams. Besides, it is necessary to design and implement application, which will be able to find and mark selected workflow patterns. This analysis is based on XML document, in which a business process diagram is stored. Important thing is to keep the ability to extend the number of patterns, which can be find out in a diagram. Also, it is important to solve some special situations, i.e. overlapping of patterns.
Store Information System
Hezoučký, Ladislav ; Weiss, Petr (referee) ; Masopust, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with store information system. The main goal of this thesis is to develop  a functional information system which will provide to catch the substance of operations in the stock ( stock receipt and stock out, draw purchase orders, draw invoice ). The system is implemented by using programming languages HTML, PHP and JavaScript. Database MySQL was choosen as a data storage.
Interfaces of Web-Services
Kubát, David ; Rychlý, Marek (referee) ; Weiss, Petr (advisor)
The objective of this thesis was to get acquainted with the proposition of the service-oriented architecture and its real representation web services. To understand the principles of their functioning, creation, communication and the ways to finding and using them. To be specific, the goal of this project was to analyse a current program, design its transfer to the web service description language and to implement a web service interface layer upon this program. The system is demonstrating the basic principles of the web services and the function of the interface during the communication between its provider and customer.
