Volunteers and Their Motivation for Canistherapy

The bachelor thesis on the topic: "Volunteers and their motivation for canistherapy" is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The aim is to find out what motives lead people to do voluntary work in canistherapy. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts of motivation, volunteering and canistherapy, because these concepts are related with the name and with the aim of my work. First, there is defined motivation, basic concepts of motivation, motiv and concrete motives of volunteering. Through these themes, I come to the concept of volunteering, which is described in the second chapter. Since volunteers are the core for the canistherapy as a whole there is also defined a concept of volunteer, his/her selection, training, rights and obligations and aspects, which can support or hinder the volunteer in his activity. Finally in the third chapter, I mention areas for volunteering which include also the canistherapy discussed in my thesis. The third chapter to enable us to penetrate into the issue. In the practical part, I used qualitative data analysis from interviews. Selected respondents were three volunteers who have volunteer experience with canistherapy. Foster Care in Practice of a Non-profit Organization

Bachelor thesis Foster care in practice of a non-profit organization monitors changes in the amended Act no. 359/1999 Coll. on social and legal protection of children related with foster care. In the introduction, the milestones in the history of foster care are mentioned. Afterwards, the thesis focuses on foster care and the way of safeguarding, funding and resourcing. It also mentions a legislative basis of foster care. It summarizes the rights and responsibilities of foster parents. The next section refers to the practice of a non-profit organisation of a Centre of help vulnerable children named ROSA, which accompanies families with children in foster care. By means of working methods and approaches used in the Centre of help vulnerable children ROSA evaluates specific course of accompanying of foster families and highlights examples of good practice. Guide dog as a Helper for Disabled People

This work consists of four parts. First of all, it deals with human needs. According to five disablement types, it focuses on the needs and possibilities of communication, self-care, spatial orientation and independent movement. The second part called "A Man and a Dog" introduces their coexistence from the past up to the present and describes how and with what a dog can help a disabled person. It describes individual kinds of service dogs and specific ways to help mitigate the impacts of disablement. It provides information on which breeds are suitable for training and describes the dog training from choosing the puppy up to its integration into the life of the user. The third part shows individual social aspects related to the purchase of a dog, demands, positives and negatives of owning a service dog. It analyses the legislative concerning the problems of assistance animals and suggests its improvement. It shows the financial problems of special dog training in this country and abroad. It also gives information on myths which are in the eyes of the uninformed public connected with the training of these dogs and analyses the current channels raising awareness of these problems. Parish Charity in Praha 1 as a Springboard to the "New" Life of Clients

This bachelor's thesis is dedicated to women's homelessness with focus on its specifics. The aim of the work is to point out the way of participation of Caritas Prague 1 on the "new lives" of homeless women or women in social deprivation. Furthermore, it refers to the methods proved at work with female clients that are supported with case studies of those women who have gone through difficult life situations and were not able to solve them by themselves. It focuses on groups threatened with the risk of homelessness as well as on the forms of homelessness and its causes. It also presents Caritas Prague 1 - New Town organization and describes the services that the parish charity provides. Besides, this thesis acquaints readers with an incentive art studio named Plamen poznání (Flame of knowledge). It presents the specific working practices that the parish charity uses at the work with clients. The next chapter deals with the specifics of women's homelessness. It describes partner relationships of women on the street, hygiene, and pregnancy. The chapters that follow are parts of the practical section. Community Social Work in a Small Town

This thesis is about work in community in Hostomice, a small town in the North of Bohemia, which has been mostly affected by its historical development after 1989. It has brought some social exclusion problems. The first part deals with the theoretical and fundamental definition of work in community. It deals with the question why this form of social work has no tradition in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, it defines the core terms such as community, a social worker and community work focusing on community development inspired by L. Schuringa and her experience. The theoretical concepts are also put in the situation in Hostomice. The second part is concerned with the civic association Host. pro NelhoStejnost, which started the community work there two years ago. It discusses its foundation, principles and some chosen community projects. At the end of the work there is the assessment of existing work in town Hostomice. The thesis deals with the technology which can be used for the purposes of social work. The beginning of the text is devoted to the concept of social work in the Czech Republic as well as internationally in order to highlight the broader understanding of social work. The remaining text focuses on the possibility and a reason for interdisciplinary cooperation of social work and technology - specific applications and devices that can improve the quality of life of people aiming at public space, focusing on people with disabilities. "A time to live and a time to die" in Theological Ethics

This bachelor thesis introduces the Leben hat seine Zeit, und Sterben hat seine Zeit handbook by the society of Gemeinschaft Evangelischer Kirchen in Europa. From this handbook the main argumentation theological-ethic tools used in discussions concerning the questions of the end of a human life are taken. The Jewish-Christian religion attaches unique dignity to a human life, which is assumed on the basis of imago Dei or imago Christi. Other aspects related to a human life rise from this dignity. They are aspects such as justification through religion, autonomy of a human being in which the limits among freedom, dependence and responsibility are being clarified. Furthermore, the thesis shows how Gemeinschaft Evangelischer Kirchen in Europa puts its beliefs (related to the questions appearing at the end of a human life) into practice. Consequently, the thesis reacts to the outputs of the handbook. Notions concerning euthanasia are clarified in a way they are used in Europe nowadays. Moreover, three main arguments that (according to the handbook) are fundamental for a discussion with dying and incurably ill people are being presented. Mother Centres - Phenomenon of Modern Society

This thesis deals with the phenomenon of mother and family centers in the Czech Republic, their development from 1992 - present. Theoretical part focuses on the issues of today's family, Czech family policy, civic society, especially with the view of its impact, development a sustainability and new civic initiatives that emerged after November 1989 in response to the need of creating and supporting a safe place for future generations, especially the mother and family centers as a phenomenon of a reborn civic society. The practical part contains description and comparison of two organizations, established within the interval of 20 years in the conurbation of Brandýs nad Labem - Stará Boleslav and whose main commitment is to support family and civic society development. Based on the annual report analysis and questionnaires that were carried out with their representatives and members, the mapping of their development, provided services and activities and their impact on local community was carried out and the strategies of sustainability for future development were proposed. It highlights specific form of women's homelessness and the risk factors that are connected with the phenomenon of their homelessness. It is focused especially on the risk factor of violence against the women without home. Věra Janoušková - "I sew the enamel sculptures like the scenes made from tatters" (textile collages and enamel sculptures)

ASTRACT: The thesis deals with textile collages and enamel sculptures and their mutual relation of a Czech sculptor Vera Janouskova, which have been made since forties till the first decade of 21th century. The first chapter focuses on biographical data and memories of Vera Janouskova, primarily aimed to facts important for the works in textile collages and enamel sculptures. The second chapter focuses on textile collages and begins with Roger Bissiere collages which inspired Vera Janouskova, continues with a detailed description of her three most known textile collages and presents a minor, not yet published textile collage hanging in Vera Janouskova studio. This chapter also analyses the terminology used for textile collages and tapistry. The third chapter, which is the most wide, deals with enamel sculptures. It begins with their categorisation based on their timing and topics they cover. Individual decades are initiated with a short information on the time period the groups of enamel sculptures were made in. Selected enamel sculptures are described in detail. Prior to the detailed analysis of the groups of enamel sculptures there are subchapters dedicated to the relation of Vera Janouskova enamel sculptures to the artistic scene in Europe, USA and also in Czechoslovakia.
