The aim of this work is to compare the narrators in two stylistically similar novels, La Vie devant soi by Romain Gary and Monsieur Ibrahim et les fleurs du Coran by Éric- Emmanuel Schmitt. The narrators will be analyzed from different points of views and then compared. The aim is to prove that even though children are storytellers, both books are not of children's literature. To be able to prove this it is necessary to outline the history of children's literature and its tendency throughout history. Narrators will be compared from the following perspectives: external characteristics, internal characteristics, language, communication with "reader", the concept of time and space, the relationship with the "mentor", response to the death and the founding of life basis. The end part will include the results of the analysis. Cílem této práce je provést porovnání vypravěčů ve dvou stylově podobných románech, La Vie devant soi Romaina Garyho a Monsieur Ibrahim et les fleurs du Coran Érica- Emmanuela Schmitta. Vypravěči budou analyzováni z různých úhlů pohledu a poté porovnáni. Budeme chtít dokázat, že ačkoliv jsou vypravěči dětmi, nejedná se ani v jednom případě o literaturu pro děti. K tomu bude nutné nastínit historii literatury pro děti a její tendence v průběhu dvacátého století. Vypravěči budou srovnáváni z následujících hledisek: vnější charakteristika, vnitřní charakteristika, jazyk, komunikace se "čtenářem", pojetí času a prostoru, vztah s "rádcem", reakce na smrt a nalezená životní východiska. Na závěr budou shrnuty výsledky provedené analýzy.
