Diplomová práce se zabývá komparací edukace dětí s mentálním postižením v raném věku v ČR a USA. V úvodních kapitolách rozebírá ranou edukaci, problematiku dětí s mentálním postižením a rodinu dítěte s postižením. Komparaci předchází zkoumání systémů rané edukace dětí s postižením v obou státech. Analýza edukace dětí v raném věku v USA odhalila skutečnosti, které mají významný vliv na výběr oblastí srovnání (značná část regulace vzdělávání leží v rukou jednotlivých států), ale i na splnění cíle diplomové práce (děti s mentálním postižením se ve většině případů řadí do kategorie "vývojové opoždění" společně s dětmi s jiným typem postižení, proto by srovnání pouze dle kategorie "mentální postižení" nemělo vypovídající hodnotu). Z toho důvodu je předmět komparace rozšířen na edukaci dítěte s postižením v raném věku. Diplomová práce srovnává následující oblasti týkající se rané intervence: informovanost rodičů, kapacitní a finanční dostupnost, návaznost služeb, koordinaci, roli rodiny a historický kontext relevantní legislativy ve srovnávaných zemích. Cílem diplomové práce je nalezení případných rozdílů, které by mohly sloužit jako inspirace ke zkvalitnění systému podpory vývoje dětí s mentálním postižením v České republice. The thesis is focused on the comparison of the early childhood education of children with intellectual disabilities in the Czech Republic and the USA. In the introductory chapters, there is discussed an early education, the problem of children with intellectual disabilities and the family of a disabled child. The comparison is preceded by an analysis of early childhood education systems for children with disabilities in both countries. An analysis of early childhood education in the United States has revealed facts that have a significant impact on the choice of areas of comparison (a significant part of education regulation is under regulations of individual states), but also on the achievement of the goal of the thesis (children with intellectual disabilities are, in most cases, included in the category "developmental delay" together with children with a different types of disabilities, and therefore the comparison only by the category "intellectual disability" would not have a meaningful value). For this reason, the subject of comparison is extended to the early childhood education of children with disabilities.
