Tato diplomová práce se zabývá odhadem věku u dětí podle rentgenových snímků jejich trvalého chrupu. Konkrétně jde v této práci o ověření přesnosti a spolehlivosti použití jedné konkrétní metody a možnosti jejího použití pro potřeby bioarcheologie. Obecně lze říci, že v paleoantropologii a bioarcheologii jsou nejčastěji užívány dva metodologické přístupy. Jedním z nich je metoda podle Demirjiana a kolektivu (1973) a její nejrůznější modifikace, druhým přístupem je metoda navržená Moorreesem a spolupracovníky v roce 1963. Obě metody jsou založeny na hodnocení stupně mineralizace zubů, přičemž stádia mineralizace zubů jsou srovnávána s referenčními daty s cílem odhadu zubního věku. Výhodou metody podle Demirjiana et al. (1973) je skutečnost, že byla modifikována a testována jen v posledním desetiletí v téměř dvaceti různých populacích a prokázala svou životaschopnost především v klinické praxi a forenzních vědách. Její nevýhodou je nutnost zachovalosti vícero zubů mandibuly současně a tato podmínka je v bioarcheologii často nesplnitelná (Brůžek et al. 2005). Z těchto důvodů je v bioarcheologii dávána přednost metodě podle Moorreese et al. (1963), protože umožňuje odhad věku dožití i v případě přítomnosti jediného zubu, a proto je metoda podle Moorreese a spolupracovníků předmětem zájmu i této... This thesis deals with estimation of age in children by using radiographs of their permanent teeth. Specifically aim of this thesis is effort to verify the accuracy and reliability of the use of one particular method and its possible use for the purposes of bioarcheology. Generally speaking, in paleoanthropology and bioarcheology are most often used two methodological approaches. One method is proposed by Demirjian and coworkers (1973) and its various modifications, the second approach is the method proposed by Moorrees and coworkers in 1963. Both methods are based on the evaluation of the degree of mineralization of the teeth, and tooth mineralization stages are compared with reference data in order to estimate dental age. The advantage of the method according Demirjian and coworkers (1973) is the fact, that it has been modified and tested only in the last decade in almost twenty different populations and demonstrated its viability especially in clinical and forensic sciences. Its disadvantage is the necessity of preservation of several mandibular teeth simultaneously, and this condition is often not satisfiable in bioarcheology (Brůžek et al. 2005).
