Tato bakalářská práce sestává z překladu části dvacáté kapitoly publikace Stevena Pinkera The Blank Slate a z komentáře tohoto překladu. Ten obsahuje překladatelskou analýzu textu, jež popisuje všechny relevantní vnitrotextové a vnětextové faktory a jež je volně vytvořena podle modelu Christiane Nordové. Další kapitoly komentáře jsou věnovány popisu zvolené metody překladu, rozboru různorodých problémů, jež se při překladu vyskytly, a způsobům jejich řešení. V neposlední řadě se komentář věnuje také popisu posunů, k nimž při převodu došlo. This bachelor thesis comprises a translation of the 20th chapter of Steven Pinker's The Blank Slate and of a commentary on the translation. The commentary consists of translation analysis of the source text, which describes all relevant intratextual and extratextual factors and is loosely based on the model of Christiane Nord. Other chapters outline the chosen translation method, various translation problems that occured in the translation process and ways of solving them. The commentary also describes translation shifts that can be found in the target text.
