Other parts concentrated on biomass sources, ecological impact connected with biomass cultivation and its subsequent processing. Economic point of view and legislation are evaluated at the end of thesis.
Study of the influence of fires of municipal and industrial waste landfills on the enviromental contamination, the combustion products of rubber and halogenated polymers
Sikora, Henryk ; Hroch, Martin (referee) ; Chýlková, Jaromíra (referee) ; Vávrová, Milada (referee) ; Čáslavský, Josef (advisor)
This thesis deals with the issue of fires of municipal and industrial wastes, particularly of rubber and halogenated polymers. When these materials burn, significant amount of harmful substances liberate into environmental compartments. Analysis of samples subjected to thermal decomposition in laboratory conditions explored formation of characteristic compounds in dependence on conditions of combustion. Samples of air, water and soil taken from real fires that occurred between the years 2007 – 2011 in the region of Western Bohemia monitored spreading of these substances into the environment. Majority of these samples were analysed by the means of gas chromatography with mass spectrometric detection. Additionally the effect of extinguishing methods and use of fire extinguishers on formation and spreading of combustion products was studied, especially in soil and in water sources.
Production logistics of printed circuits desks
Susko, Petr ; Starý, Jiří (referee) ; Špinka, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis describes the design of a new plant for the production of printed circuit boards with a capacity of 40,000 square meters per year. Describes the basic principles of a new production, production logistics principles and technological design, procedure for application of the method SLP, placement of production areas and capacity calculation of employees and machines. It also describes the technological process of production of printed circuit boards with subtractive method and discusses the different steps of production with regard to the proposed production. The practical part deals with the actual realization of the project, a selection of production technology, machinery, design the layout of the building, capacity calculations, deployment tools, practical application of the method SLP, visualization of production in the Plavis VisTable software, waste management and economic evaluation of project costs.
The usage of OECD tests for determination of waste ecotoxicity
Zálešáková, Ludmila ; Zlámalová Gargošová, Helena (referee) ; Bednařík, Karel (advisor)
In my bachelor thesis I consern myself with tests of waste ecotoxicity that are recommended by OECD. The main purpose of the thesis is to characterize these tests and compare them from the application aspect. The thesis presents OECD, its establishment and relation to the Czech Republic. Waste problems are discussed here too. Fundamental terms in this field, sorts of waste and its origin are defined here. The main attention is focused on ecotoxicological tests that are characterized according to their application, implementation and testing organism.
Modelling as Efficient Tool in Industrial Practice and Economic Aspects
Šarlej, Marek ; Klemeš,, Jiří (referee) ; Žaloudík, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Petr (advisor)
This doctoral thesis focuses on modelling as an efficient tool in industrial practice in the field of power industry and environmental engineering. It represents the modelling for technical as well as for economic part and their combination. Industrial companies do not evaluate only technical solutions in terms of investment costs, however, they search for optimized technical-economic solutions. The doctoral thesis describes the modelling of individual equipment as well as technological units in various levels of complexity. Case studies utilising various levels of modelling are represented herein.
Analysis for the production of foam glass using alternative raw materials
Janák, Petr ; Brožovský, Jiří (referee) ; Bydžovský, Jiří (advisor)
Due to rapid technological development and continuously increasing amount of waste, people aim their emphasis at the enviromental protection and using of secondary raw materials. Glass has a high potential as a secondary raw material, because it is practically 100% recyclable. One way how to use the glass cullet is a production of foam glass. This Bachelor‘s thesis mainly deals with the possibilities of using recycled cullet and forecasting of alternative raw materials that can be used as foaming agents in the manufacture of foam glass.
Quality and Environment management system
Turková, Daniela ; Kotek, Luboš (referee) ; Kotek, Luboš (referee) ; Fiala, Alois (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the subject of meeting quality requirements in various fields of industrial production in the Czech Republic with the emphasis put on scrap and waste materials processing; from manufacturing a product through its use until its disposal while maintaining specific standards/norms. The thesis also contains a proposal of a potential production plan with a maximally reduced negative impact on the environment.
Odpadové hospodářství v obci Čebín
Brychtová, Iva
This diploma thesis deal with the issue of waste management in the municipality of Čebín. The introductory part is dedicated to a literature search in the field of waste management. The aim of the thesis is to comprehensively describe the waste management system in the selected municipality before and after the introduction of the new waste management system. This system is supposed to achieve a better sorting of waste from the total amount of municipal waste, which is currently very low at 14 %. On the basis of own observation since the introduction of the new system for 1 year to evaluate the shortcomings and advantages of the new system, to compare the sorting of the municipality over the last 10 years, to prepare a SWOT analysis on the waste management system and this analysis to proceceed after that on the base of the result evaluate the data from the citizens of the selected municipality by questionnaire survey. The data obtained will also be used to develop a proposal and recommendations for new measures in the waste management of the municipality of Čebín. By the newly introduced system was found to increase the sorting rate of the municipality. However, the municipality's costs for waste management are higher and the municipality will probably have to increase the local charge for the waste management system in the future. This unpopular step can caused to dissatisfaction among citizens and their motivation to sort waste is likely to become less and less.
Vliv pandemie COVID19 na produkci a nakládání s komunálním odpadem na příkladu vybraného regionu ČR
Skrobikowská, Denisa
The bachelor thesis investigates whether the pandemic of covid-19 had an impact on the production and management of municipal waste in Třebíč region. The theoretical part includes findings from the foreign and local literature on the impact of the pandemic on waste management. Based on the data obtained from ESKO-T for Třebíč region, the research part compares waste production in the pre-pandemic period 2017–2019 with the pandemic years 2020–2021. The thesis takes a closer look to the behaviour of households in the region. Information on households was obtained through a questionnaire survey. The result of the work is that the pandemic had much lower impact on the production of waste in Třebíč region.
Kompostování jako způsob zpracování potravinových odpadů
Tóthová, Katarína
This master thesis focuses on waste and waste management, with an emphasis on biodegradable waste, specifically food waste. The thesis discusses the legislative regulations in the Czech Republic and the European Union. Among other things, composting is considered as a possible solution to the waste generated. The practical part of the thesis evaluates the final product of composters to which additives have been added to reduce odour. The additives were added to the waste collection bins. The added additives include citric acid, tea tree oil and lime. In addition, compost without additives was also evaluated as a control sample. The composting lasted for 12 weeks. The pH and electrical conductivity were evaluated throughout the composting process and then the final product, i.e. the mature compost, was evaluated using phytotoxicity tests. The results showed that although the compost met the required pH and electrical conductivity values, it was found to be highly toxic. Even at a compost concentration of 10%, inhibition of plant root growth was shown, making the compost inapplicable to soil. Furthermore, even compost without additives was found to be toxic, with the cause of toxicity apparently being the waste used and not the additives. In view of these results, further investigation of additives is still needed. This thesis contributes to a better understanding of composting as a way of treating food waste and shows the importance of systematic monitoring of the quality of the final product.
