A special part follows up a specific case study of a patient, who attended the outpatient department on rehabilitation clinic IKEM. It contains the input kinesiology examination, plan of the therapy, the performance and the evaluation of therapy at the end. Key words: Case study, knee joint, injury of meniscus, arthroscopy, physiotherapy
Case report on physiotherapeutic care of a patient with total left knee replacement on the left side caused by the gonarthrosis
Hábová, Tereza ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Coufalová, Jitka (referee)
Title: Case report on physiotherapeutic care of a patient with total left knee replacement on the left side caused by the gonarthrosis. Summary: This thesis focuses on case report of a patient after total left knee replacement. The work contains two parts - the general part and the specialized part. The general part deals with structure, kinesiology and biomechanics of the knee joint, general definition of gonarthrosis, its cause, clinical symptoms and its treatment. It also describes the gonarthrosis, indications and the types of total knee replacement prosthesis. The most important topics of the general part contain descriptions of therapeutic methods and procedures, focused on improving patient's health in the post- operation phase. The specialized part constitutes the main part of this thesis. It is processed via case report form and describes the physiotherapeutic treatment of a specific patient, who underwent a total knee replacement surgery. In the conclusion of the specialized part of the thesis, I evaluate the effects of the theraphy. Key words: knee joint, total knee replacement, gonartrosis, rehabilitation Diagnosis: St.p. total left knee replacement caused by gonarthrosis
Modern therapy of chondral defects
Neckař, Pavel ; Havlas, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Zeman, Petr (referee) ; Tuček, Michal (referee)
The thesis describes the application of cultured bone marrow stem cells in the therapy of focal chondral defect of the knee joint. In the experimental part of the work, the goal was to quantitatively and qualitatively compare two sampling sites of bone marrow monocytic aspirates, the iliac crest bone and the proximal tibia, in order to determine a suitable cell source for advanced cell therapy. The sample analysis showed that the amount of monocytic cells and the yield of stem cells from the aspirate obtained were significantly higher in the bone marrow from the iliac crest. We did not find significant qualitative differences between the two sources of stem cells. In the clinical part of the work, I present a description of the surgical procedure and the results of a 1-year follow-up of patients after the implantation of cultured stem cells from the bone marrow, under the name BiCure® orthoMSCp (Bioinova, Prague, Czech Republic), fixed on a commercially available 3D scaffold Chondrotissue® (BioTissue AG, Geneva, Switzerland) using coagulated autologous platelet-rich plasma. The primary objective of the clinical study included the evaluation of the short-term and long-term safety of the applied medical product. The secondary objective of the work included the assessment of the effectiveness of the...
The effect of the deep stabilization system on the prevention of knee injuries in soccer
Hudíková, Klára ; Demeková, Júlia (advisor) ; Veselá, Jana (referee)
This bachelor's thesis examines the deep spinal stabilization system and its effect on knee stability of soccer players for future injury prevention. Joint instability is cited as a major risk factor for non-contact knee injuries. Therefore, this thesis explores the possibility of improving its stability by improving the activation of the deep stabilization system of the spine. Soccer is a collective sport with a large player base and with this comes a high number of injuries. Among the most common of these are knee injuries. The movements performed in football require precise coordination of the activity of the muscles of the lower limbs. These movements are discussed in this thesis, along with the most common football-specific injury patterns. The functional aspects of the deep stabilization system of the spine are also presented. This is a set of muscles of the trunk, diaphragm and pelvic floor that, when properly coordinated, provide spinal bracing during posturally demanding positions. Its proper development begins in early childhood and its involvement depends, among other things, on the correct positioning of the segments. Its function is discussed in detail by Professor Kolář in his concept of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, which is described in the paper. In the practical part of the...
LCA plastic surgery methods and subsequent rehabilitation
Anýž, Martin ; Hráský, Pavel (advisor) ; Kaplan, Aleš (referee)
Title: LCA plastic surgery methods and subsequent rehabilitation Objective: The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to become familiar with the problem of injury to the soft structures of the knee joint, especially the anterior cruciate ligament. Furthermore, familiarization with methods of injury treatment and subsequent rehabilitation. Summary: This bachelor's thesis is completely theoretical and is divided into eight parts. The first part contains clinical knowledge about the knee joint. The second part presents the goals, tasks and methodology of the work. The third part contains general knowledge about knee joint injuries. The fourth chapter has the task of familiarizing with the diagnosis of anterior cruciate ligament injuries. The fifth part summarizes information about cruciate ligament injuries in terms of injury incidence, pathophysiology, treatment options for LCA lesions, and classification and clinical presentation. The sixth part contains LCA plastic surgery methods, the difference between autologous and allogeneic graft and subsequent complications after plastic surgery. In the seventh part, rehabilitation after both conservative and operative treatment of the LCA lesion is presented. The eighth part contains recommendations for the rehabilitation of patients after anterior cruciate...
Case study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient after reconstruction of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament
Irani, Aryan ; Maršáková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Nováková, Tereza (referee)
Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient after reconstruction of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament. Thesis Aim: The aim of this thesis is to understand the theoretical background of anterior cruciate ligament ruptures, surgery and rehabilitation. Further, it aims to analyse the effect of therapeutical procedures that were applied to the patient. Clinical Findings: This study evaluated the state of a 34 year old professional male football player after reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament on the right knee. The examination showed findings of reduced range of motion, reduced mobility of joints, differences in the conditions of muscles and soft tissue and decreased stability in the right lower extremity. Methods: The methods used for this study were based on the knowledge gained and the literature that was provided to me by the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, Charles University in Prague. Result: The patient that I have worked with progressed very well after the 10 therapy sessions. Progress was seen in terms of his range of motion, muscle strength and stability in the right lower extremity. Additionally, all the therapies used were seen to be effective in the patient's diagnosis. Conclusion: The therapies used were beneficial and effective in the specific diagnosis...

Author: Lenka Fialová Title: A case study of physiotherapeutic care of a patient after knee arthroscopy Objectives: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to provide comprehensive information about knee joint their injuries, examinations, treatment and rehabilitation procedure. The aim is also to document the physiotherapy care of the patient after knee atroscopy for anterior cruciate ligament lesion, cartilage defect and plica syndrome. Methods: In the general part of the thesis I summarize the theoretical knowledge concerning the knee joint, including anatomy and biomechanics, mechanism of injury and treatment of some injuries of this joint. Furthermore, I focus on the possibilities of clinical examination and subsequent rehabilitation. In a special part of the thesis I present a case report of a patient after ASK of the knee joint with cartilage and ACL lesion, and plica syndrome. This section contains a description of 8 therapeutic units including initial and output kinesiological analysis. All literature used is listed at the end of this paper. Results: In the general section, information regarding the knee joint was summarized. The types of soft tissue injuries, their examination and treatment, especially the arthroscopic approach, and possible rehabilitation procedures were discussed in detail....
