The theoretical part of this thesis deals with media concepts and theories, primarily with concept of representation, stereotyping and media construction of reality. This part also serves as a platform, which anchors the following practical part. In practical part, first, I introduce the method of quantitative content analysis and the specific procedure I have chosen. Then I present the results of my research and their interpretation. The data evaluation confirms the main hypothesis, that the media representation of Prague ZOO is associated with the family of lowland gorillas, which lives there. We can say, that representation of Prague ZOO in media is created in very stereotypical framework, which has not changed in the monitored period and we can not expect any change in the near future.

Vojtová, Magdaléna ; Köpplová, Barbara (advisor) ; Benda, Josef (referee)
The primary goal of this master thesis was to analyze the development of ownership of daily newspapers in the Czech Republic in the period 2008 - 2016. The development of media ownership in the monitored period was analyzed in the context of the long term structural problems of media sector, which were intensified by the economic crisis beginning in 2008. In addition to the economic context, the thesis also deals with the historical context, specifically the changes of the Czech daily newspapers market after 1989. In connection with the transfer of ownership of the Czech publishing houses to the hands of domestic businessmen, often with direct links to politics, thesis also deals with the issue of ownership concentration and the relations between media and politics. I also mention the phenomenon of emerging new, alternative media projects by the journalists in reaction to ownership changes threatening pluralism and freedom of speech. In the end, I also compare the development of ownership of the daily newspapers in the Czech Republic with the development of ownership in other countries of the CEE region, such as Slovakia, Poland, Hungary or the Baltic States.

Analysis of equivalence among different income groups in the Czech pension system
Vojtová, Magdaléna ; Vostrovská, Zdenka (advisor) ; Vebrová, Ludmila (referee)
This master's thesis deals with the principles of solidarity and equivalence in the Czech pension system, analyzes all the factors which affect the level of equivalence and examines their current settings in the pension system of the Czech Republic. Although there are many variables, that play an important role in the system, salary reduction limits seems to be the most important one. Therefore, great attention is paid to this topic -- the impact of the reduction limits during the pension benefits calculation under the various income groups. In recent years there have been implemented several reforms of the system, but the equivalence is still very low after all. While the standard of living of low-income people after retirement remains the same or even increases, the standard of living of middle- and higher-income groups decreases enormously. The thesis continuously evaluates the economic impact of individual actions and parametric reforms on different income groups and on this basis suggests possible changes and solutions that should lead to higher equivalence of the pension systém.
