Analysis of Economic Indicators Using Statistical Methods
Picka, Václav ; Vaníček, Jiří (referee) ; Doubravský, Karel (advisor)
The thesis is focused on the analysis of economic indicators of Brno Transport Company, Inc. using statistical methods. The issue of time series, regression analysis and selected economic indicators is illustrated in the theoretical part. In the practical part the indicators will be analyzed using time series and regression analysis associated with their predictions for the future. The last part contains recommendations for possible determination of strategies and business objectives.

The subject of bachelor thesis is a new domestic building with business premises. This house is designed by wall system POROTHERM. Ceilings are monolithic made of ferroconcrete and the roof is flat. The house has three overhead floors; the first one is used for business premises. The first business premise is a hairdresser; the second one is a tobacco shop. There are four flats in other two overhead floors, two flats in each floor. Each flat has its own loggia with a beautiful panorama. The house is located on the plane plot. It is located in Žatec in the building development of new family houses.

The subject of master´s thesis is a new apartment building. This house is designed by wall system POROTHERM. Ceilings are monolithic made of prestressed ferronconcrete panels spiroll and the roof is flat. The house has three overhead floors and it has seven residential units. In four of them enter from the main entrance on the 1st floor, which is on the north side of the building. Three of them have their own entrance on the 1 st floor. Shape of the platform is unfinished ,,Z”. Roofs are designed as a cascade. The house is located on the plane in development of apartment house.
Geometric problems solvable without calculations

Title: Geometric Problems Solvable without Calculations Abstract: The thesis focuses on geometric problems which are usually set with a picture and ask for some numerical value. They are solvable by a geometric strategy, i.e., strategy with a small involvement of calculations. Their difficulty lies in the necessity to distinguish partial configurations in the picture. The goal of the research was to describe pupils' solving strategies and find out if they are age dependent. The theoretical background of the thesis consists of the concepts of visualisation, roles of pictures in geometry and their understanding by pupils and the ability to see in geometry. In the pilot study, tasks of the given type were selected for the main study. In the first phase of the main study, three problems were used with 9 pupils of different ages in semi- structured interviews with the goal to get an insight into the solving strategies and their characteristics and look into the influence of prepared hints on the pupils' solutions. In the second phase, 125 pupils aged 12 till 19 solved independently one problem while in the third one (which was a methodological compromise between the previous two), 130 pupils aged 12 till 19 solved two problems independently but had an opportunity to get hints and could explain their solutions...
The effect of hop on the growth of facultative pathogenic bacteria
Vaníček, Jiří ; Buchta, Vladimír (advisor) ; Jílek, Petr (referee)
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biological and Medical Sciences Author: Jiří Vaníček Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Vladimír Buchta, CSc. Supervisor specialist: doc. MUDr. Pavel Čermák, CSc. Title of Diploma thesis: The effect of hop on the growth of facultative pathogenic bacteria Background: The aim was to determine the sensitivity of selected strains of anaerobic bacteria (Bacteroides fragilis, Clostridium perfringens, Clostridium difficile) to compounds isolated from hop extract (α-bitter acids, β-bitter acids, xanthohumol). Method: To determine the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of anaerobic strains used in the macrodilution method, known as Schaedler Broth, to which were added isolates from hop extract. Minimal bactericidal concentration (MBC) was determined at Schaedler blood agar and Columbia blood agar. Results: The research carried out demonstrated inhibitions within all the selected strains. The measured concentrations of MIC and MBC moved subsequently within the ranges: α-bitter acids 1024 -128 mg/l β-bitter acids 527 - 4 mg/l xanthohumol 128 - 8 mg /l Conclusion: The results obtained showed xanthohumol to be the best. All strains tested showed low and stable xanthohumol MIC and MBC values. From the bitter acids, only beta acids reached...

Ecology of the pathosystem Vinca minor - Puccinia cribrata in natural populations

5 Absctract Environment and demographic characteristics of host population are important factors affecting incidence and severity of plant diseases. The aim of this study was to reveal possible effects of microclimatic and edaphic characteristics and host population demographic factors on the biotrophic pathogen Puccinia cribrata, microcyclic rust parasitising clonal evergreen plant Vinca minor. I studied the ecology of this pathosystem in natural populations of V. minor in the Soča valley in the Julian Alps in Slovenia. Rugged terrain of the Soča valley with different bedrocks allowed to study pathogen distribution at topographically diverse forest and scrub sites, greatly differing in soil depth and canopy structure. P. cribrata was significantly more likely to occur in the themophilous forest with shallow calcareous soils and open canopy than in the mesophilous forest types. Its prevalence (proportion of diseased stems in population) was also highest in this type of vegetation. Most important host population factors were population size and population density positively affecting incidence and prevalence respectively. Additionally, I tested various vegetation and topographic indexes derived from remote sensing for usability in prediction models. It appears that vegetation indexes connected with canopy...

Analysis of the Use of Multimedia in Science Education
Odcházelová, Tereza ; Teodoridis, Vasilis (advisor) ; Vaníček, Jiří (referee) ; Kubiatko, Milan (referee)
Digital literacy is one of key competencies for lifelong learning. Although implementing multimedia (i.e. ICT) into the educational process has a global perspective, the curricular documents for compulsory school attendance in the Czech Republic (Rámcový vzdělávací program), Slovak Republic (Štátny vzdelávací program) and Germany (Bildungsstandards) do not emphasize this need. A review of the above mentioned documents indicated, that the general need to develop digital literacy of pupils across all school subjects is not formulated by these documents. Therefore, the personal opinions and beliefs of the teachers, their enthusiasm to use ICT, their level of computer literacy, school facilities and the approach of pupils to ICT, play the most important role with regard to the implementation of multimedia in the educational process. Accordingly, the combined research conducted by questionnaires and structured interviews, is aimed towards beliefs, opinions and experiences of pre-service and in-service teachers of biology and primary school pupils from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany. The research has involved 422 Czech, 205 Slovak and 136 German in-service biology teachers and 222 Czech, 100 Slovak and 84 German pre-service teachers. The questionnaires were also addressed to 442 Czech pupils...
