Between hope and frustration. Reconstructions and new realisations in historical parts of Prague at the turn of the 19th and 20th century in the context of contemporary considerations on monument conservation
Uhlík, Jan
Thedissertationdealswiththeissueofreconstructionsandnewrealizationsinhistoricalparts of Prague (Old and New Towns of Prague, Lesser Town, Hradčany, Josefov and Vyšehrad) at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century against the background of period discussions about the content and new direction of monument care, as reflected in selected projects (whether implemented or unrealized) representing the construction activities of the time in the metropolis. The work not only raises questions about the immediate conceptual and stylisticsolutionsused byindividualarchitects, butalsoconsidersthemore generalissues of the development of monument care in the Czech lands in the period under review. Its focus is on the analysis of the influence of current ideas and opinions in the field of theory of monument care on construction practice represented by individual cases and the identification of the retroactive impact of practical experience on the form of field theory. Individual case studies (discussed projects) are selected to cover both major Prague urban projects at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as (un) implemented transformations of selected buildings and architectural ensembles in this period. The work is primarily focused on the period between 1890 and 1918, i.e....

The Role of iNKT Cells in the Pathogenesis of Infectious And Autoimmune Diseases
Nováková, Lucie ; Kozák, Tomáš (advisor) ; Kriegová, Eva (referee) ; Uhlík, Jiří (referee)
iNKT (invariant natural killer T cell) are thymus-dependent unconventional T cells. They express highly restricted TCR - Vα24Jα18 - chain paired with restricted set of β chains. iNKT cells recognize lipid antigens. These antigens are presented by CD1d molecule on the surface of APC. This small population of cells is involved in the immune responses against various infection agents including viral infection even though viruses do not express their own glycolipid antigens. iNKT cells differ from clasical T lymfocytes in the promtly production of cytokines of Th1, Th2 and Th17 profile. Here I describe their behavior during reactivation of human herpes virus and their role in human defense against the varicella zoster virus. We observed decreased number of iNKT in patients who underwent reactivations of varicella zoster virus because they failed to control latent infection of VZV. Phenotypic changes of iNKT cells were also found and described - increased expression of the NKG2D receptor and downregulation of NKG2A in a group of patients during acute herpes simplex virus infection. iNKT cells enhance their capacity to produce TNF-α. In the last part of my work, I will briefly describe general position of iNKT cells in the immune response and their evolutionary significance. Our data suggests that iNKT...
Cooperative Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning
Uhlík, Jan ; Pilát, Martin (advisor) ; Straka, Milan (referee)
Deep Reinforcement Learning has achieved a plenty of breakthroughs in the past decade. Motivated by these successes, many publications extend the most prosperous algorithms to multi-agent systems. In this work, we firstly build solid theoretical foundations of Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning (MARL), along with unified notations. Thereafter, we give a brief review of the most influential algorithms for Single-Agent and Multi-Agent RL. Our attention is focused mainly on Actor-Critic architectures with centralized training and decentralized execution. We propose a new model architec- ture called MATD3-FORK, which is a combination of MATD3 and TD3-FORK. Finally, we provide thorough comparative experiments of these algorithms on various tasks with unified implementation.
Methodology of Identification of Original Owners of Movable Cultural Property Expropriated according to Decrees of the President of the Republic to Citizens of German Nationality in Czechoslovakia After World War II
Uhlíková, Kristina ; Uhlík, Jan ; Císařová, Jitka ; Homolová, Dita ; Bakeš, Martin ; Marešová, Jana ; Radostová, Šárka
The methodology deals with the issue of culturally valuable furniture expropriated on the basis of decrees of the President of the Republic in 1945 to citizens of German nationality in Czechoslovakia. Its aim is to describe the most effective procedures and practices for identifying provenance of this property with a focus on the last owner before confiscation.
