Title: Case study of orthotic - prosthetic care for a patient with a diagnosis of transfemoral amputation Aims: The aim of this paper is a case study of a patient with a diagnosis of transfemoral amputation. The main objective is to prepare a comprehensive overview related to the issue of lower limb amputations and, based on the examination and clinical interviews, to produce a device that best suits the patient's needs. The process of prosthetic care from the examination of the patient to the fitting of the new prosthesis is described. Methods: This thesis has theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part, professional framework of the problem is presented based on a literature research and my experience in practice. It focuses on the anatomy and function of the lower limb, gait cycle, amputation procedure and prosthetic care of the stump. Also, it provides an overview of prosthetic components that could be chosen when indicating a femoral prosthesis. In the practical part, the course of four patient visits is described, from the collection of the measurement materials, through the manufacturing of the stump socket, testing and adjustments, to the handover of the device. The practical part is documented verbally and photographically as it took place during my professional practice....

Title: Case study of the physiotherapy treatment of a patient with peripheral palsy of radial nerve. Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is to summarize theoretical knowledge of peripheral palsy, especially the radial nerve palsy. My other aim is to elaborate a detailed case study including examination and therapy with the use of theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired during the three years of studying the bachelor's programme. Methods: The thesis consists of two main parts. The general part summarizes theoretical knowledge of peripheral radial palsy based on professional literature. There is analyzed anatomy of the nervous system, especially anatomy of the brachial plexus, kinesiology, etiology and clinical picture of this disease and its classification. aims to summarize basic information on the subject. Other section is devoted to treatment of peripheral palsy and it describes in detail the rehabilitation care and specific physiotherapeutic methods used in the treatment of such a disease. At the end of this section is an evaluation of the effect of these methods in the treatment. The practical part documents the case report of a patient with a diagnosis of radial nerve palsy, which includes the initial kinesiological examination, description of the course of individual...

Title: A Case Study of Physiotherapeutic Treatment of a Patient with Diagnosis of Left-Sided Above-Knee Amputation. Aim: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to summarize the theoretical knowledge and rehabilitation care of a patient with this diagnosis, as well as a case study of a patient with this diagnosis. Method: This study is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part contains the lower limb functional anatomy, theoretical information about lower limb ischemic disease, about amputations, rehabilitation options after amputation and options of prosthesis. It also includes an evaluation of the effects of therapeutic procedures. The practical part contains a case study of a patient after left-sided above-knee amputation. This part includes the entrance examination, the course of therapy, the final examination and the evaluation of the effect of therapy. Results: The therapy described in the practical part of this study was able to verticalize the pacient and manage to walk with prosthesis on a french crutches. Overall, the therapy has led to an improvement of patient's condition. Key words: Amputation, Lower limbs, Lower limb ischemic disease, Physiotherapy, Prosthetics
Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with Diagnosis peripheral facialis palsy
Leszkow, David ; Neuwirthová, Svatava (advisor) ; Hamouzová, Dita (referee)
Author: David Leszkow Title: Case study of physiotherapy care for patient diagnosed with peripheral facial palsy. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to write down theoretical basis related to the diagnosis of peripheral facial palsy. The second part of this thesis is case study of one patient with Bell's palsy. Methods: Soft tissue techniques, Jebavá's approach, Kenny's method, Kabat's method. Results: Patient's right facial side muscular strength improved and at the same time resting facial expressions were restored. There was an increase in the resting muscle tone of the right side, thus removing the lagophthalmos and the sagging corner of the mouth. Conclusion: Thanks to the use of the above methods, the patient was rehabilitated to almost full muscle strength and functionality of the right side of the face, at the rest and also with active muscle involvement. Keywords: Bell's palsy, treatment of peripheral palsy, facial palsy, facial nerve, case study, mimic muscles, physiotherapy
Evaluation of wheelchair adjustments and their impact on proper propulsion pattern upper extremities and sitting posture in patients with spinal cord lesions
Dáňová, Petra ; Pfeiffer, Jan (advisor) ; Neuwirthová, Svatava (referee)
Title: Evaluation of wheelchair adjustments and their impact on proper propulsion pattern upper extremities and sitting posture in patients with spinal cord lesions. Objectives: The objective of this work was to evaluate the adjustments of wheelchair and to determine their impact on the work of the upper limbs and posture while sitting. This work was done on a group of patients with spinal lesions with their own wheelchairs. Another objective was to assess how education of proper propulsion pattern and form and type of a grip of handrim affects the correct propulsion pattern. Methods: In the group of 26 patients with spinal cord injuries in different levels of the spinal cord, I tested the adjusments of wheelchair, in particular the centre of gravity and maximum seat height from the ground. I also investigated what education on correct propulsion pattern the patients received, and observed any home-made adjustments to handrim, as well as patients' techniques of handrim grip. Finally, I examined how the subjects drove his/her wheelchair. During all the tests, I recorded video and photo documentation. The results were statistically evaluated using the Fisher test. Results: Despite the fact that only a small group was investigated, I showed the effect of wheelchair seatings on the correct posture. I...
