Classroom climate and relationships within graduating classes of four-year, six-year and eight-year grammar schools
Kratochvílová, Anna ; Klapálková, Veronika (advisor) ; Valenta, Josef (referee)
This thesis explores the classroom climate and classroom relationships of the senior class of a particular four-year, six-year, and eight-year high school. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and an empirical part, and the two parts are closely related. The theoretical part is divided into four chapters. The thesis draws on the literature in the fields of education and social psychology and focuses in particular on the characterisation of school classroom climate and methods of measuring climate. An essential chapter of the theoretical part of the thesis is also the area dealing with the characteristics of relationships within the classroom collective. The empirical part of the thesis then proceeded to a quantitative-qualitative research investigation, which focused on exploring the differences and interrelationships within the classroom collective of senior high school students with different lengths of study. After defining the seven research questions and introducing the methodology of the study, the data was collected using the standardized questionnaire Classroom Climate by Jiří Mareš and Stanislav Ježek, which was distributed among the male and female students of the three graduating classes of the high school. The second part of the data collection was conducted using structured...
Rudolf Svačina a Václav Jaroš - léta strávená v nacistickém věznění
KRATOCHVÍLOVÁ, Anna
The bachelor thesis will deal with the person of Rudolf Svačina, a member of the Czech border teachers, his mentality, identity and especially the way of remembering the experiences of imprisonment in concentration camps during the Second World War. The theoretical part will focus on listing the forms of Nazi persecution of the Czech population during the occupation, followed by a brief summary of the history of the Flossenbürg concentration camp, the Terezín Small Fortress and the Pankrác Prison, which will then be confronted with the personal memories of Rudolf Svačina and Václav Jaroš from the time of their arrest and subsequent imprisonment. The empirical part of the work offers a comparison of the memories of Rudolf Svačina, a village teacher from Domažlice, with Václav Jaroš, a Prague teacher imprisoned in the Pankrác prison. The empirical part will describe the life of Rudolf Svačina, especially his pedagogical practice and experience from the interwar period, as well as an insight into the life of Václav Jaroš. The aim of the qualification work will be to map the memories of Rudolf Svačina and Václav Jaroš during their imprisonment and thus provide an overall view of the life of two ordinary people who suffered the fate of a Nazi prison.
The effect of cold stress on the immune system in the presence of infection
Kratochvílová, Anna ; Krulová, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Filipp, Dominik (referee)
Although the relationship between the effects of cold and infection has been studied for a long time, the mechanisms contributing to this phenomenon have not yet been discovered. While short-term exposure to cold triggers a stress response and the production of proinflammatory cytokines, long-term cold exposure induces adaptation and anti- inflammatory shift. The role of cold adaptation in the development and the process of the organism's response to infection remains an unresolved issue. In this diploma thesis, we focused on determining the effect of cold stress or cold adaptation on the immune system of rats which was stimulated by ligands of Toll-like receptors (TLRs). The obtained results showed the importance of γδT lymphocytes and their cytokine production in the process of cold adaptation. To determine how cold adaptation affects the response to infectious agents, we studied changes in the proportion of different immune cell populations in rats treated with the TLR2/6 ligand Pam2CSK4. We determined significant changes in the activation of myeloid cells and B lymphocytes, but also in the population of γδT lymphocytes. Our obtained results suggested the importance of γδT lymphocytes and the protective effect of cold adaptation. Key words: immune system, cold stress, cold adaptation, infection,...
Extracellular vesicles derived from mesenchymal stem cells and their use in the treatment of neurological disorders
Kratochvílová, Anna ; Hájková, Michaela (advisor) ; Holada, Karel (referee)
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are cell-derived membrane vesicles, which represent an important part of intercellular communication by transferring cytosolic proteins, lipids, and RNAs between cells. It has been proved that mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are potent producers of EVs with a therapeutic effect comparable to their parental cells. Moreover, recent findings suggest that EVs may strongly contribute to their physiological function. The aim of this thesis is to introduce extracellular vesicles derived from mesenchymal stem cells (MSC-EVs) as a novel cell-free alternative to the cell-based therapy and focus on their neuroprotective properties studied in various neurological diseases.
ACTING IN VARIOUS GENRES OF GRADUATE PRODUCTIONS
Kratochvílová, Anna ; KUDLÁČKOVÁ, Jana (advisor) ; TICHÁ, Petra (referee)
The work of A.K. attempts to capture the thought-process development of a young actress, which is then mirrored in her approach to her work. Within the scope of her experience, the author addresses the diversity in actors’ approaches to their roles, depending on the genre of the play, as well as the director’s influence with respect to his or her approach, process and even personality. The author outlines the process of preparation for a role, rehearsals and re-runs of roles from the following graduate productions: Denis Kelly: Ritual Slaughter of Gorge Mastromas (A. Svozil, K. Kosová), Ö. Horváth: Stories from the Vienna woods (J. Kačmarčík), I. Vyrypajev: Drunk (A. Burianová) and A. P. Čechov: Gull (I. Krejčí). She also addresses her inspirational experience of immersive theatre as part of the Pomezí project (L. Brychta, Š. Tretiag, K. Součková). Additionally, the author contemplates the issue of a common journey of director and actor in an instance when they have differing tastes, and thus also different opinions regarding the production itself. Finally, the author concludes with a reflection on the essential role of an objective and detached view in production.

The special part based on systematic recherche explores the efficacy of the McKenzie method in the treatment of patients in the acute, subacute and chronic phases of lower back pain and the effect of the method on...
Islam and status of women in Tunisia
Kratochvílová, Anna ; Barša, Pavel (advisor) ; Slačálek, Ondřej (referee)
This work deals with the position of women in Tunisian society at present, and attempts to put it into the historical, political and religious context of the country. Due to a lack of Czech sources it is supported by foreign (francophone) sources. Tunisia offers an interesting exploration both from the perspective of the current position of women and also due to the circumstances involved in its formation. Tunisia is ahead of its maghreb neighbors as far as women's rights are concerned. This is a result of a combination of the political fortune, courage and skill of Habib Bourguiba, Tunisia's first president, combined with favorable socio-economic conditions. Tunisia obtained as much benefit as possible from its historical dependence on France. Apart from that, due to its relatively trouble-free acquisition of independence, development during the first few years of independence was not slowed down.. On the other hand, Tunisia is a land of contrast. Tunisian women have gained freedom, in remarkable measure for an Arabic country, but the thinking of the people often remains far away from the legislative measures of the government.. This bachelor thesis is divided into four parts. The first part outlines the impact of Islam on Tunisian society in order to show the divergence between Bourguiba's and the common...
Variabilityin egg shell pigmentation of great tit clutches
Kratochvílová, Anna ; Svobodová, Jana (advisor) ; Veronika, Veronika (referee)
Eggshell coloration in bird clutches shows a striking variability within species which has not yet been fully explained. Its character is determined by the deposition of two main pigments: blue-green biliverdin is responsible for the background colour while brown-red protoporphyrin is associated with the dark spot pattern. Considering the role and matabolism of these two pigments in the avian organism it was suggested that they might have an important impact on the oxidative stress levels and their deposition into the eggshell is therefore suggested to possibly reflect the body condition of laying females during the laying periods. This is also the basic assumption for the signalling hypothesis of eggshell coloration which predicts the eggshell appearance to reflect the female body condition and individual health status or directly indicate aenemia in birds (aenemic hypothesis). Here it was tested whether there is a relationship between parameters representing the body condition of female great tits (Parus major) and the characteristics of protoporphyrin maculation of their eggs. Female body condition was expressed by standardized body weight and the selected haematological parameters (heterophil to lymphocyte ratio and relative immature erythrocyte counts). Eggshell coloration was characterized by spot colour (hue, saturation and brightness), spot counts and the reflectance of the background colour. It was found that females with higher heterophil to lymphocyte ratio laid eggs with more spots and higher reflectance of the background colour in some nesting seasons. Eggs with more spots on its surface were also laid by females with higher immature erythrocyte counts. These results suggest that more intensive deposition of protoporfyring into the eggsell can indicate worse body condition of the laying females. On the other hand, it was also found that heavier females laid eggs with lower reflectance of the background colour. Despite this discrepancy, these results are not inconsistent with the pressumptions of the signalling hypothesis and they partially support the aenemia hypothesis. However, the above mentioned dependencies were inconsistent among the nesting seasons, indicating that further important determinants must be considered in the avian eggshell coloration.
Burnout syndrome
Kratochvílová, Anna ; Kebza, Vladimír (advisor) ; Daniel, Daniel (referee)
This dissertation deals with the topic Burnout Syndrome. Burnout syndrome stands for a state of exhaustion, emotional withdrawal and loss of confidence in personal performance. The dissertation consists of two parts, namely the theoretical part and the research part. The literature research part summarizes theoretical findings on the subject, such as a characteristic of burnout syndrome, its causes, symptoms and development or diagnostic methods. The analysis of these topics is based on individual authors research. In the research part findings gained from the theoretical part were used and verified. The chosen organization, a state institution, the Industrial Property Office of the Czech Republic, is briefly characterized. This part evaluates the incidence of burnout syndrome among employees in the selected organization. Information for the research part was obtained using a questionnaire aimed at both, managers and staff without additional subordinates. An unstructured interview with the President of the Office was also conducted. The information acquired was evaluated and interpreted and subsequently measures were proposed to eliminate identified inadequacy.
