Maafi, Negar ; Cahlíková, Lucie (advisor) ; Šmejkal, Karel (referee) ; Havlík, Jaroslav (referee)
Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Botany Candidate: Negar Maafi Supervisor: Prof. Ing. Lucie Cahlíková, Ph.D. Title of Doctoral Thesis: Amaryllidaceae alkaloids of montanine type and their derivatives as potential drugs. Based on the knowledge of the biological activity of montanine-type alkaloids of Amaryllidaceae, these alkaloids were selected for the preparation of their semisynthetic derivatives to study the relationship between structure and the activity. Derivatives of montanine-type alkaloids were prepared using haemanthamine and montanine as starting substances. The montanine-type alkaloid 3-O- methylpancracine was prepared using intramolecular rearrangement of haemanthamine. Previously isolated montanine from bulbs of Hippeastrum x hybridum cv. Ferrari was used in synthesize of derivatives. In total, more than 80 aliphatic and aromatic derivatives of montanine and 3-O- methylpancracine have been prepared. All compounds were identified using 1D- and 2D-NMR, MS, HRMS, and so forth. The prepared derivatives were screened for a wide range of biological activities (inhibitory potential against hAChE/hBuChE, antimycobacterial, antibacterial and antifungal activity, cytotoxicity, and others). In the hAChE/hBuChE study, the...
The Reason for the Attractiveness of Audiovisual Content Generated by Youtubers for Teenage Audience
Havlík, Jakub ; Vochocová, Lenka (advisor) ; Supa, Markéta (referee)
The thesis aims to map the reasons for the attractiveness of audiovisual content generated by youtubers for teenage audiences. These causes are explored in a qualitative analysis based on focus groups. The interviews focus on teenagers' motivations for watching videos, intensity, the local context of viewing, the specificities that young people find important in such audiovisual content and the differentiations from traditional media content. In addition to audience analysis, this thesis also focuses on qualitative content analysis of videos of Czech YouTubers. It maps the specifics of videos that are characteristic for the YouTube platform. The thesis analyses formal audiovisual means of expression, such as camera techniques, colour, set design, graphics, post-production editing and the audio component of the work. The analysis also focuses on the content of the videos in the form of the performance and expression of the protagonists and the value of the information conveyed. The research on audiovisual content is also embedded in a relevant theoretical framework.
Duty of due managerial care of member of an elective body of a limited company and consequences of its violation
Havlík, Jiří ; Černá, Stanislava (advisor) ; Zahradníčková, Marie (referee)
My thesis focuses on one of the fundamental issues of representation of stock corporations by their elected bodies or members of these bodies. This issue concerns the responsibility of these parties to act in the performance of their duties with due managerial care which is a key aspect in determining the standard required from the parties representing a limited liability company and a joint stock company. This topic is extremely relevant to the current situation due to recent re- codification of private law, whose linchpins are Act No. 89/2012 Coll., the Civil Code, and Act No. 90/2012 Coll. on business companies and cooperatives (the Act on Business Corporations). The authors of these regulations during their drafting had to cope with the development of both the doctrine and the case law and their task was not only to adapt the legislation to the commercial law practice of stock corporations of the 21st century, but also to resolve some of its contentious issues. The thesis consists of an introduction, three main chapters further subdivided into subsections and the conclusion. The first chapter deals with the legal regulation and the description of the concept of due managerial care and related aspects at the time of effectiveness of Act No. 513/1991 Coll., the Commercial Code. Particular...

Bacílková, Anna ; Klusoňová, Hana (advisor) ; Havlík, Jaroslav (referee)
Author: Anna Bacílková Title: Metabolic profiles of bioactive components of Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer from different herbal sources Diploma thesis Publishing place: Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové The field of study - pharmacy In this diploma thesis, I was concerned with the determination and quantification of 12 ginsenosides in 11 commercial ginseng preparations from the species Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer available in the Czech Republic. Ginsenosides are triterpenes saponins considered to be main bioactive principles of ginseng. The two-dimensional thin layer chromatography and high performance liquid chromatography with UV detection was used for the identification and quantitative determination of these compounds. The methods applied are based on comparison of the retention times and retention factors of samples and a mixture of standards. The content of ginsenoside Rf was used as a marker to differentiate Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer from other species. Ginsenosides were detected only in 8 from 11 preparations. There was also significant product-to-product variability in concentrations and proportions of ginsenosides. The content of ginsenosides was also compared with available data from manufacturer and the measured concentrations of marker compounds differed...

Transformation of urban settlements in Syria and Palestine in Hellenistic period
Havlík, Jakub ; Stančo, Ladislav (advisor) ; Pavúk, Peter (referee)
The aim of my thesis is to describe the urban space in Syria and Palestine and how it was transformed during the early Hellenistic period. The time frame is set by the reign of Alexander the Great, who marched into the area in 333 BCE, and by the unification of the whole territory under the rule of Seleucids in the time of Antiochus III. in 200 BCE. Firstly I will examine the geography of the area, its specifics and impact to the settlement. Following this is an historical overview in which I discuss the progress of the area and the Hellenistic colonization in this period. In the second half of my thesis I study the archaeological situation. I go on to define the settlement in Syria and Palestine in the end of the Persian period, with particular reference to regional differences. Next I observe aspects of the transformations of the urban settlement that began at the turn of the third and fourth century BCE. This was when the territory was divided between Seleucids in the North and Ptolemies in the South. I also define the urban space of the Hellenistic period in Syria and Palestine and its specifics. In particular I focus on the differences between the North and the South of the observed territory.
The Asian department's musical instrument collection of the Náprstek Museum of Prague from an ethnoorganological point of view
Friedl, Marián ; Matoušek, Vlastislav (advisor) ; Havlík, Jaromír (referee)
My theses The Asian department's musical instrument collection of the Náprstek Museum of Prague167 from an ethnoorganological point of view deal with several topics in seven parts: 1. The first part describes the evolution of the ethnomusicological thinking and also the thinking about musical instruments and classification in organology. This part is also aimed to reveal the interrelations between cultural anthropology, ethnomusicology, ethnoorganology and classificatory organology. 2. A specific classification based on Hornbostel-Sachs systematik is shown and explained here as a basis for one part of musical instrument's description in the Náprstek Museum's computer database. 3. How to work with the museum's computer software, how the describing terms from part 2 are used in the database and how they can help us while working with instruments, these topics are included here. 4. In part four we can find numerical and graphical evaluation of the content of collection based on work with the museum's computer software and the describing system devised for this purpose. 5. This part offers basic organographical description of the musical instruments formerly long-lastingly exhibited. (Since 2001 floods whole collection unapproachable.) 6. The Chinese instrumental ensemble and genre Jiangnan sizhu is depicted...
Prague's Archbishop Johann Friedrich von Waldstein and his controversy on the Turkish wars taxes (1682-1694)
Havlík, Jiří ; Čornejová, Ivana (advisor) ; Vlnas, Vít (referee) ; Maur, Eduard (referee)
The ann of this thesis of archbishop of Prague Johann Friedrich von Waldstein (1642 - 1694; archbishop 1675-1694) consists in description of conflicts with Czech land assembly and state apparatus in the years 1678, 1679, 1682-1686 and 1691-1694. The last and most important continued also after his death (3'^'* June 1694). That time Czech clergy sent two deputies (further archbishop Daniel Ignatius Mayer of Mayem and abbot of monastery in Plasy Andreas Troyer) to Vienna, to arrange adjustment of a dispount, which culminated on the beginning of the year 1694. Principal chapters of this thesis deal with conflicts in the years 1682-1686 and 1691- 1694 (chapters 4-7). These are based on detailed archive research, especially of sources of 1®' department of National Archives in Czech republic (Archives of archiepiscopate in Prague), Family archives of Waldstein, located in The Regional State Archives in Prague and Archivio Segreto Vaticano in Cittá del Vaticano. Some subsidiary sources I have found also in Archivům Romanům Societatis Jesu, The Regional State Archives in Litoměřice or in Archivio di Pontificia Universita Gregoriana in Italy, Main issue of the thesis shapes four points: First one was the description of main events of the history of Prague archiepiscopate (and in part also of Litoměřice episcopate),...

Havlík, Jakub ; Hůrka, Petr (advisor) ; Matějka Řehořová, Lucie (referee)
Transfer of Undertakings Abstract This thesis elaborates on the transfer of undertakings safeguarding employees, rooted in the European legislation in the Council Directive 77/187/EEC of 19 February 1977, replaced by the Council Directive 2001/23/EC of 12 March 2001 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to the safeguarding of employees' rights in the event of transfers of undertakings, businesses or parts of undertakings or businesses. Firstly, the European legislation on the transfer of undertakings is briefly analyzed, including its historical transposition into the Czech legal system and an analysis of its interpretation in the case-law of the Court of Justice of the European Union. The analysis of this legislation focuses in particular on the general nature of this institute of transfer of undertakings and on its basic pillars, such as the automaticity of the transfer, the economic unit preserving its identity, the preservation of working conditions and others. The next part of the thesis analyses the Czech regulation anchored in Act No. 262/2006 Coll., the Labour Code, as amended until 29 July 2020, which is gradually compared with the regulation at the European level, highlighting the fundamental differences caused by the somewhat loose transposition of the European regulation...
