Between the Text and the Image / The Changes of the (Fairy Tale) Narrative in Visual Communication KEY WORDS / Culture, Semiotic, Visuality, Empirical Spectator, Sign, Interpretation, Fairy Tale Narrative, Everydayness, Thinking, Visual Literacy, Communicatin, Advertisment, Commercial Communi- cation, Visual Communication, Visual Culture, Visual Literacy, Creativity ABSTRACT / The thesis "Between the Text and the Image" attempts to capture the visual world of our everyda- yness through the eyes of the empirical spectator. Placed at the centre of our interest are semiotic reading, active grasping of visual images (in examples of commercial messages and communication) and visual literacy as a key competence for further creativity, which, in art education, should allow pupils to evolve their "higher order thinking", critical thought and meta-analysis of visual discour- ses. The choice of the advertising topic as a strong and creative area for visualisation, representing the world we live in today, has proven itself to be the best option for using a semiotic reading of the image as a way of creativity and also for its critical reflection. The first part of the thesis evolves the view of the fairy tale narrative as a meta-text, which later becomes the impulse for further creativity in the field of visual...

Linhart, T: The borderline and the relationship to its surroundings. [Diploma thesis] Praha 2015 Charles University, Faculty of Education, Department of Art Education, 71 p. (Attachments on CD: 2 illustration attachments). The diploma thesis features a theoretical study on the background of the author's own artwork. Universal clothing and its use in museum education
Švejdová, Kateřina ; Fulková, Marie (advisor) ; Raudenský, Martin (referee)
In my thesis, built on the bachelor's thesis, I focus on the universal form of clothing. In the theoretical part I research the common features of garments in changing cultural and historical contexts. I focus on general aspects of clothing. I search for connections between functions and forms of clothing. I monitor the impact of historical styles on the work of contemporary clothing designers and I seek the universal features of today's fashion apparel. I observe the interest of children, teachers and also of publications in textile creation. In the art section I work on a series of proposals for universal variable apparel. By using patents it is created more models out of just one. I document and crtitically reflex the final results of possible model variations. In didactic part I suggest educational program for selected clothing exposition. The program includes worksheets and the posibility of using a universal garment as teaching tool. The program I verify in practice I also document and evaluate.

Image of Physicality - Physicality of Image
Slachová, Markéta ; Sedlák, Michal (advisor) ; Fulková, Marie (referee)
In the thesis submitted, I deal with the concepts of human physicality and image and their mutual relationship from the point of view of how physicality can be made present in the image and hence in the very dialogue between an artwork and the viewer. The other part is devoted to artistic contexts. I would like to give examples of various works of art which can be traced by means of confronting the contemporary concept of physicality and the appearance of a human figure coming from the earliest paintings to art actions of the present and contemporary art events. My goal is to try to grasp the relation between image and physicality, especially in the context of art education and possibilities of gallery and museum education. I designed and implemented a large educational project: Painting the flesh - the physicality of painting, that uses elements of visually dramatic conception of art education, emphasizing work with pupils physicality of their own, linked to the contexts of art history and also deals with the theme of interpretation, reproduction and manipulation of paintings. The visual part is called Interpretation as a shift from the painting of physicality to the physicality of painting and is also derived from the topic examined in the work.

Peroutková, Pavla ; Fulková, Marie (advisor) ; Sedlák, Michal (referee)
Peroutková, P.: Art as a Social Intervention. [Diploma thesis] Prague 2014 - Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Education, Department of Art education, 99 s. (Attachment: cd with video-documentation) This work is a theoretical study of art as a social intervention with an application on a didactic project in art education. Firstly, it outlines the underlying issues linked to social interventions, especially to participatory art. Secondly, these issues are subsequently examined on diverse approaches on both Czech and international art scenes after 1990. They are connected by the common subject of food, which appears in socially engaged art projects across the whole range of different approaches and strategies. Further, it points to the connection of examined strategies and teaching activities. The phenomenon of art as a social intevention is also used as the main theme in a didactic project implemented in art education, in grammar school and on an author's project.
