Comparison of noise generated by differently constructed vents
Bernard, Jan ; Doložílek, Miroslav (referee) ; Jedelský, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with comparing noise levels of three side vents of different constructions, which are used for distribution and directing of ventilation air in a cabin of an automobile. The fundamental knowledge of the physical and physiological acoustics is described in the introduction part of this study. Following the introduction part there is a brief explanation of the car air conditioning system (HVAC system) as well as are explained the acoustic properties of specific elements of this system. The study also deals with dividing ventilation vents and describes the vast traceable types of automobile vents. Prior to the description of the experiment, which was conducted as a part of this study, the procedures and results of the measurements carried out in other theses are explained. Measurement of noise levels of the compared vents was carried out in a semi-anechoic chamber under the ČSN ISO 3475 standardization. To clarify increase of noise generated by the vent in an interior of an automobile, additional measurement of noise was carried out in a cabin of Porsche Cayenne 2018. From the gathered results we can conclude that under the constant flow, (of 60 square meters per hour) louder vents are those with higher pressure loss. This pressure loss is dependant primarily on the speed of the flow in the vent, as well as on the number and the adjustment of the deflectors. In a cabin of an automobile, the noise produced by the vent is negligible in comparison with total noise in an interior of a car. However, in the area surrounding the air flowing out from the vent, (approximately 0,7 meters from it) the level of acoustic pressure increases significantly.
Application for Controlled Access to Remote Documents for GNU/Linux
Bernard, Jan ; Burget, Radek (referee) ; Rychlý, Marek (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is synchronization and life cycle of files downloaded to user's computer from validated data storage. Based on market analysis there is large selection of applications in market but there are relatively large differences along them. Application was designed and implemented for GNU/Linux according to requirements and given validated data storage communication. The application was tested on two selected Linux distributions with Mock Server represententing remote storage.
Smartphones as experimental tools to take measurements in environmental engineering
Bernard, Jan ; Hejčík, Jiří (referee) ; Jedelský, Jan (advisor)
The thesis is focused on the measuring of the physical quantities by the means of smartphones. It gives a list of the sensors which smartphones contain and it briefly describes their function in ordinary use and their use for the measuring not only physical quantities. Sensors of the mechanical quantities are documented in a greater extent. The measurement limits are addressed as well as the information what inaccuracies of measured quantities can be expected. The study also deals with the added devices which help to overcome the limits of inbuilt sensors and by that they make the measurement more accurate. A review of several researches on already made measurements of the mechanical quantities with smartphones is also given. The last part of the study describes an experiment during which six mobile phones with Android system and six applications were tested by measuring a pink noise signal. Two main facts follows from the results. The measurement with a phone calibrated previously cannot be considered as reliable, the errors can be in the rate of tens of decibels. Whereas phones after calibration in the levels range 45 – 85 dB, when the measuring error is linear, can be used for measurement of the noise with the error less than 2 dB.
Deepfake Detection Framework
Bernard, Jan ; Perešíni, Martin (referee) ; Malinka, Kamil (advisor)
Rural Area as a Place for New Types of NGOs and Identities Creating.
Klvaňová, Linda ; Skovajsa, Marek (advisor) ; Bernard, Jan (referee)
This master's thesis is concerned with the immigration to rural areas in relation to the establishment of civil associations oriented to ecology and development activities. Through an analysis of three case studies it aims to study the question whether these associations might help the immigrants to integrate to the rural local environment as well as to form new social and organizational identities. The thesis summarises the results of the sociological research of rural areas, the studies of civil society, and also the modernist concepts of identity.
Ideology of the normalization, or normalization of ideology : narrative and ideological analysis of films about everyday life during the "normalization"
Hladík, Radim ; Reifová, Irena (advisor) ; Bernard, Jan (referee)
The topic of this master's degree thesis - "Ideology of the Normalization, or the Normalization of Ideology: Narrative and Ideological Analysis of Films about Everyday Life during the 'Normalization'" - is an inquiry into the ideology of the so-called normalization period (1968-1989) as it is represented in mainstream Czech post-communist films. The research question is posed as follows: Do these films reflect on the ideology of the Normalization era itself, or are they normalizing a new post-communist ideology about the Normalization? Classical Film Narration
Sladký, Michal ; Bernard, Jan (advisor) ; Marcelli, Miroslav (referee)
The major subject matter to be pursuded in this master's thesis is the classical film narrative, the boom of which is represented by classical Hollywood cinema. This thesis aims to prove that this style has maintained its privileged position also after 1960 and has been effective in the digital era despite of the revolutionary technological changes. It attempts to defend the hypothesis that Hollywood cinema keeps the principles of classical narrative style regardless the digitalization and blockbuster films affecting it.

Picturing the Nation: Slovak National Identity in the Age of the Mass Produced Image
Hudac, Nicholas ; Heczková, Libuše (advisor) ; Dudková, Jana (referee) ; Bernard, Jan (referee)
1.1 ABSTRACT This dissertation focuses on the role that the mass produced image (e.g. lithographs, photographs, and cinema) played in the creation and solidification of Slovak national and ethnic identity not only among Slovaks living in Slovakia, but also Slovaks living abroad in America from the 19th to the mid-20th centuries. Given the problems inherent in using the written Slovak language to form a sense of national and ethnic unity, Slovak culture drew widely on visual sources that could be rapidly reproduced, easily transmitted in Slovakia and abroad, and were affordable to a wide variety of social and economic classes. This dissertation also focuses on some of the problems of this approach which will require further study and examination. Keywords: Slovakia, Slovak nationalism, ethnic identity, photography, lithography, cinema, ethnography, mass media,
